~At the Beach~

A few minutes passed until Nagito and Hajime finally arrived.

"You guys are the last to arrive. What are you dilly-dallying for?" Byakuya hissed at them.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting." Nagito smiled.

"Well, it's all right..." Byakuya mumbled. "More importantly, this is our only chance to talk between ourselves before that rabbit returns."

"Kyahaha! Let's talk!" Hiyoko cheered.

"Now then, let me hear your initial impressions of this island." he ordered.

"I happened to notice numerous blocked off bridges on the central island..." Peko said.

"Oh, those are there so everybody doesn't get lost!" Ibuki pointed out cheerfully. "I tried to cross one of them and that rabbit showed up and told me, so I'm telling the truth!"

"So we don't get lost...? Is this island really so big?" Peko sweatdropped.

"But if you look at it in depth, it's just a normal island, right? It's got a resort and everything!" Kazuichi grinned, relaxing his hands on the back of his neck. "Well, not that I've ever been to a resort before, but..."

"Also, there's a biiiiig ranch!" Hiyoko cheered.

"Uhm... There's also a large supermarket, too... It looks like it stocks everything from food to living amenities." Mikan muttered shyly.

"The hotel was really nice, too. It'd be great if we can stay there." Mahiru said.

"The restaurant inside the hotel was also very nice. It seemed to cafer to a more plebeian taste." Sonia smiled.

"Can you guys listen to what I wanna say, too?" Teruteru asked with a serious face.

'Oh hell no.'

"I... Found something very important on this island." he said. Then his nose started to bleed. "Girls! Very, very cute girls! Aha! All over the pla-"

He was cut off by you punching him in the nose. His nose was bleeding again, but this time by your punch.

"ARGH!" he cried out in pain.

"Say something like that in front of me again and you'll die." you threatened.

"Getting punched by a cute girl...? Aha... I'm really lucky...!" he started to drool.

"Jesus fucking Christ. Someone shut him up already or I'll fucking kill-"

"Uhm... [F/N]. Let's put that aside for now." Nagito awkwardly smiled.

"Geez, fine..." you mumbled.

"All of you are fools... I can't believe nobody has mentioned the most serious truth." Byakuya hissed.

"... The most serious truth?" Chiaki repeated.

'Oi, Hajime, I found ya a girlfriend! But no time for jokes, let's speak up now.'

"You're talking about the bronze statue in the park, aren't you?" you asked him.

He seemed pretty taken aback that you knew what he was talking about, but quickly shook it off and nodded.

"When I saw it, I remembered a story I heard before..." he started. "There's an island in the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful island paradise where summer never ends... It contists of a central island surrounded by five different islands... It's also said that five holy animals symbolize each of those surrounding islands. That island's name is... Jabberwock Island."

"Could this island be...?" Nagito muttered.

"Still, there is something on my mind. In fact, according to what I've heard, Jabberwock Island is already... Nevermind."

(Sonia: Yes? XD Sorry I had to)

"Hold it right there! That's a rather incomplete story you've told us." Nekomaru yelled at him.

"No need to shout. I'll let you know once I obtain more information." Byakuya said.

"Well, that bitch probably knows something. She was the one who brought it up anyway!" Fuyuhiko pointed at you.

"'That bitch' has a name. And spilling out information to assholes isn't my thing." you growled.

"What did you say?!"

"Oh, did you not hear me? I'll spell it out for you. A-S-S-H-O-L-E." you smirked.

"YOU'RE DEAD!!!"

"Stop this foolish argument!" Byakuya ordered.

"Meh, I don't care what this island's called. Nikoniko Island or Papua Island or whatever..." Akane muttered. "Doesn't change the fact that we all gotta live here, right?"

"Living together on this tropical island sure is exciiiiting! I'm super looking forward to it!" Ibuki cheered.

"Right on! This ain't a bad school at all!" Kazuichi grinned.

"H-Hey, you guys..." Hajime muttered.

"Hmm, I like this island too!" Hiyoko smiled. "... Can't say the same about the rest of you cretins." she added.

"Huh? Did I hear something?" Teruteru sweatdropped.

"I'm still worried, but I don't feel as worried as I did earlier..." Mahiru said. "Yeah, since there's no danger or inconvenience, I feel like this won't be a problem!"

"Hey, listen to what you guys are saying. We need to stay calm and think about this...!" Hajime yelled. "We're all here to attend Hope's Peak Academy, right? But we're living on an island like this instead... No matter what, it's completely weird!"

"Why don't you stop talking for a while? Go cool your head off or something." Gundham growled, crossing his arms.

"P-Plus even if we wanted to leave, there's no way we can..." Teruteru pointed out.

"There's no ship, and the planes are just for show..." Kazuichi sweatdropped.

"From what I've discovered, there's no way to connect the outside world, either..." Peko explained. "In conclusion... It would be impossible to call for help."

"Then, why don't we just swim home?" Akane suggested.

"There's no way we can swim that far...!" Mikan cried.

"SHOW SOME SPIRIT!!!" Nekomaru growled.

"I'm telling you, that's impossible!" Mahiru shouted.

"Th-Then... What if we cut down some trees and made a raft...?" Hajime muttered, slowly losing hope.

"Nuh-uh! You can't do that! That's the biggest of no-nos!" Usami appeared angrily. "Please recall the guidelines of this school trip! 'Littering is not allowed. Let us coexist with this island's bountiful nature in mutual prosperity.' Got it? I want everyone to get along and live peacefully on this beautiful tropical island."

"Wh-What's with these rules? Who cares about that...!" Hajime yelled.

"Stop. This rabbit seems to be rather finicky about these so-called rules." Byakuya hissed. "Based on that, what if your actions place everyone here in danger?"

"Th-The word 'danger' is a bit much! I wouldn't do something like that!" Usami yelled.

"Hajime... I understand how you feel, but you need to calm down a little, okay?" Nagito tried to calm him.

"F-For now... As long as we don't do anything weird, it seems there is no danger..." Mikan muttered.

"And as long as we gather the Hope Fragments, we'll be able to get off this island soon." Chiaki added.

"So stop being such a cry baby." you finished their talk with a growl.

"Y-You're all just gonna believe that...?" Hajime mumbled with disbelief.

"There's no other choice but to believe... For now, that is." Byakuya sighed.

"..."

"Anyway, Usami! What's this present you mentioned in your announcement earlier?" Ibuki asked excitedly.

"Ah, that's right! Well, of course I didn't forget..." Usami muttered, and took out a little doll from herself. "Love, love! This is it!"

'....What the...'

"Don't be upset! I've prepared one for you all, so don't worry!" she giggled.

"... What is this...?" Nagito muttered.

"Pfft, teehee! It's an Usami Strap!" she giggled more. "If you squeeze the tummy, it talks."

"I'm Usami... Magical Miracle Girl ⭐ Usami. I'm an itty bitty girl who's sweet like milk!" the strap said.

"Isn't it cute? Love, love!" the real Usami -who is not so real - sang.

"... What a waste of time." Byakuya hissed.

"Man, and I got my hopes up, too..." Ibuki whined.

"I'm ashamed I even had my hopes up!" Teruteru cried.

"Really? I think it's pretty cute. Especially how the ears look like a rabbit's..." Chiaki said.

"Well, Usami does mean 'rabbit', you know!"

After everyone got their own strap, they just threw it in the sand.

"Hey! You can't taint nature with trash!" Usami yelled.

"See? Even you think they're trash!" Ibuki pointed out.

Usami started to pick up the straps from the sand, sobbing.

You looked down at the strap in your hand. You couldn't help but smile. It sorta gave you back a piece of the childhood you missed.

"... I will keep it." you said, as monotonely as you could.

There was a loud 'eeeeh!?' from almost every mouth.

"What?" you hissed. "I'm not that of an asshole. Usami worked on them, and I'll not throw away her work like you bastards."

They looked at each other. A few people (like Nagito, Sonia, Kazuichi, Mikan, you know, those who have hearts (well, Fuyuhiko have a heart too, but he's a bastard)) picked up the straps and hid them in their pockets. You gave them a nod, as a 'that's what I'm talking about'.

"Tee hee, great! You know, I prepared one more present!" Usami cheered.

"Hm? You have something else?" Peko asked her.

"Well, compared to the Usami Strap, it's not that big of a deal... Basically, I've prepared a motive for everyone." Usami explained.

"A motive...?" Hajime repeated. (...)

"That's right. A motive for everyone to get along." she smiled. "We've come all this way to a tropical island, so I thought it'd be great to do something island-themed."

"Like what? Are you thinkin' of throwin' a big party or somethin'?" Akane asked.

"Coooorrect!" Usami cheered.

"Is it a festival? Or maybe a miniature shrine? How wonderful!" Sonia smiled with stars in her eyes.

"Excuse me, Miss Sonia..." Teruteru started.

"Don't. You dare." you hissed.

"Ehehehe..." he just laughed, sweatdropping.

"If we're talking about fun parties on a tropical island, maybe it should be a barbeque or something?" Ibuki asked, full of excitement.

"Ah, a campfire sounds fun, too." Mahiru smiled.

"Let's find a hoop snake and kill it!" Hiyoko cheered.

"Is looking for one not enough for you!?" Kazuichi shouted.

"It seems everyone has different ideas, but if we're gonna be at the ocean, then first..." Usami took out seventeen swimming bags. "Tadaaa! This is what it's all about!"

"Swimming bags?" Nagito asked.

"Coooorrect! Love! Love!" she cheered.

"Whoooaaa! Then that means..." Kazuichi muttered.

"That's right. I have swimsuits for everyone. Well, school swimsuits actually. I hope that's okay." Usami said.

"A-Are you telling us to go swimming...? In a situation like this...?" Hajime asked with disbelief.

"It's not like I'm ordering you guys to swim or anything. It's just, if you wanna go swimming, you can... " the rabbit sweatdropped.

"Th-There's no way I'm going swimming!" Hajime yelled at her. "There's no way anyone would be so thoughtless as to go swimming in a situation like this..."

"YAAAHHHOOOOOO!!!" Ibuki cheered.

"...Eh?"

"Aw yeah! That's what I'm talking about! With weather this nice, there's no way I'm gonna pass on swimming!" Kazuichi grinned.

"I agree! Even my loins agree! See?" Teruteru said.

"..."

"Okay..."

"How long has it been since I last swam in the sea?" Mahiru wondered.

"Allllll riiiiight! Let's go change!!!" Nekomaru yelled, and a lots of students left the beach.

"... [F/N]? You don't wanna swim?" Hajime asked you.

"... Is that a serious question?"

"Ah... Right. Sorry."

"Ah, look! Everyone has returned!" Usami cheered after a while.

"YOOOHHOOOO!"

"Yaaay! The sea!"

"Aaah, the water is so cool. It feels great!"

"Uah! Too salty! The water's too salty! It's not going easy on me!"

"Heeeey, I got some suntan lotion from the supermarket. Would anyone like a rub down?"

"Oh! You're quite considerate! Now then, will you apply it right away?"

"Eh? Rubbing lotion on a muscular man...? All right, no problem! My tastes are pretty open, you know!"

"You seem a little too open.... Like you're  covering too many bases by yourself."

"Mhmhmhm... I'll make sure to slather you with lots and lots of oil."

"Wh-What is this feeling of intense bloodlust!?"

You just watched them having fun, when you spotted Gundham doing something in the sand. You walked to him.

"Uhm... Hello. Gundham, was it?"
"Who dares to disturb the Overlord of Ice!?" he looked up, and saw it was you. "... Oh. Dark Queen."

'Still with this thing, huh...?'

"Uhm... Yeah...? May I ask what are you doing?"

"I am building a dark castle for my Four Dark Devas of Destruction." he smirked.

"... Ah. I see."

You sat down next to him in the sand. And that's when you realised he was shirtless.
"... Eeeh!?" you blurted out.

"... What is your problem, Dark Queen?"

"... Oh-Ah-Nothing." you muttered, suddenly taking interest in the sand.

There was an awkward silence, so you decided to speak up.

"Uh... Can I help you in the castle?"

'Fuck. Really, [F/N]!? Go and build a sand castle with one of the strangest guys and his hamsters. Oh, who is shirtless, by the way. I'm an idiot.'

He just smirked, and nodded.

"Heeeey, you guys! Don't forget about me!"

You finally looked up, and saw Hajime, running with a swimsuit in his hand. You couldn't help but smile, relieved that he stopped being such a cry baby.

"Hey hey! Wait for me! Let me join in the fun!" he yelled.

And that's when it happened.

The sky suddenly grew very cloudy. Like someone pressed the 'storm' button or something. You quickly stood up from the sand, and made your way to the others, Gundham following close behind.

"What's happening...? These strange clouds... This doesn't look natural at all...!" Hajime muttered, and for once, you agreed with him.

"Eh? Huh...?" Usami mumbled.

"Hey, what's happening?" Hajime yelled at her. "What did you do!? This is obviously not right! It was sunny just a few minutes ago!"

"Wha... Wha-wha-wha... Wh-What is this!?" she panicked.

'Uh-oh. If Usami doesn't know what is this, than...'

The monitor suddenly turned on.

A shadow appeared on the screen, but you couldn't get out what it was.

"Aaah, aaah...! Mike check, mike check! Ah, ah! Ah, ah! Can you hear me, can you hear me?"

You got goosebumps from the voice. It was so playful, but different than Usami's... Hearing it was like hearing someone laugh at the scene of an accident.

"Puhuhu... Surprised? You were totally surprised!... Riiight?" the voice laughed. "Now then, sorry to keep you all waiting for so long. Let's leave all this worthless entertainment behind... It's time for the main attraction! You guys better hustle over to Jabberwock Park!"

And with that, the monitor turned off.

"Could it be...? This voice...!" Usami muttered. "I-If this is... Oh, this is very bad. I gotta do something... It's all up to me!" And with that, she had left the beach.

"... Okay. Well. Whoever or whatever this is, it certainly is not here to give us candy or whatever." you rubbed your fists, ready to fight. "I'll beat it's ass."

"W-Wait, [F/N], it's dangerous!" Hajime yelled after you, but you had already left the beach.
