Chapter 28: A Brand New Island

Soooo yep. I wanted to start writing this when that delete and republish problem happened, and I was so pissed off that I couldn't write it... Plus, I'm getting oneshot requests nonstop... Maybe I'll close the requests cause I'm not writing them because I want to anymore, but because I have to, and when I force myself to write the outcome is always well... not nice. Utapri oneshots are fine but I don't enjoy writing DR oneshots for some reason - maybe because I started to leave the fandom. But don't worry! This book is still so much fun to write, I won't ever stop it until I finish it!... Well unless Wattpad decides to delete it. Yesterday it deleted it for like 10 minutes and I was ticked off and scared that I lost the book... -_-

(Edit: yeah, when I started writing this, I didn't close the requests yet. XD)

Oh. Also, positive thing!

EEEEEEKKK!!!

I. GOT. MY. FIRST. FANAAAART!

Thank you SO SO MUCH Layla_Boi20 for being the very first - and maybe last XD - fanart artist on this book, I'm really honored! I REALLY love her hair, that stands out the most to me. I also love how you drew pink eyes for her, cause I imagined a though look for her, and the pink is the blood's color in DR. (even if that wasn't your intention.) I also like the background, although, giving you a tip, the SHSL ASSASSIN subtitle could have been in another color to stand out because it can't really be seen. But overall I really love her and I'm so honored that I've got to have a fanart from you, thank you so much once again.

Anyway, I'll start the chapter. Enjoy!

CHAPTER 2: SEA AND PUNISHMENT, SIN AND COCONUTS

Daily Life

~Ding-Dong-Bing-Bong~
The morning announcement played.

You opened your eyes and blinked a few times, then just stared at the ceiling, processing where you were.
Ah, that's right. In Fuyuhiko's cottage, on the ground.
You groaned silently, then sat up. Sleeping on the ground this many times was definitely not healthy, watching the fact that your back hurt more and more every time you got up. You really couldn't do anything against it, because if you told Fuyuhiko that you want to sleep in his bed, that would lead to an argument, a quite awkward one in fact.
You stood up and strecthed your arms, staring out the window. The morning air was refreshing, the wind blew all the trees gently, the sunshine glittered on the soft waves of the endless sea. (I really suck at writing this stuff.)
You felt relaxed for a moment, but yesterday's memories hit you like a train. Byakuya's corpse, the unbelievable amount of blood, the stressing class trial, Teruteru's brutal execution...
~You alright?~
You jumped a little of the sudden voice, then sighed in annoyence.
'You really should get out of my head.'
Wait, is this even normal? Like, it just asked if you are alright. You shook it off and decided to ignore the voice for now and looked at the bed.
Fuyuhiko was sleeping soundly... His face expression looked like he was having some sort of nightmare. You could see fat drops of sweat rolling down on his forehead, and he even was mumbling something, though you couldn't really hear what.
"... Fuyuhiko." you whispered, grabbing his shoulder and shaking it a little, feeling a little weird about using his first name.
He groaned up, opening one of his golden orbs and glaring at you. "What...?"
"... You okay?" you mumbled, furrowing your eyebrows.
"..." he brushed your hand away. "What kinda question is that...? Let me sleep..."
"... Get up. The morning announcement already played." you sighed, giving up on being nice to him.
"So what? I don't fucking care..."
"Shouldn't you come to the restaurant for breakfast?"
"I'll go when I want to. Now leave me the hell alone, dumbass."
You rolled your eyes and stepped in the bathroom, looking at your reflection for a moment. Although you opened up to everyone and everyone did their own hopeful monolouge yesterday, you definitely looked worse than ever. Big, dark bags under your [E/C] orbs, which were dark and lifeless. Your skin was pale, as white as fresh snow. Your [H/C] locks were messy.
You sighed deeply and washed your face, the grabbed the hairbrush trying to somewhat fix your hair. After you were done, you continued your morning routine, and couldn't help but notice the sounds from the bedroom and the blunt knock on the door.
"Can I come i-"
"Nope... I'm getting dressed at the moment." you muttered awkwardly.
The answer was silence, then a silent "mmmhmm". You guessed that Fuyuhiko had his own reaction.
A few minutes later you unlocked the bathroom's door and told Fuyuhiko that now he can go in. He simply nodded, looking away then left to the bathroom. You raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off and left the cottage after grabbing your knife.

~■♡■~

You were now sitting in the restaurant along with the others. The aura was... dry. No sound could be heard other than the morning breeze's blewing outside and the cutlery's silent creaking, telling the fact that everyone was eating.
The door cracked open, and a brunette stepped in with dreary and quiet footsteps. Many eyes turned towards him, along with yours, seeing his sullen face.
"Ah, Hajime... you're already here... Good morning..." Mahiru muttered, breaking the tense silence.
"Y-Yo..." Kazuichi mumbled too, returning to poking his food with his fork.
"Good... morning..." Mikan greeted him too with a polite bow of the head.
"Good morning, Hajime..." you showed him a very small smile, which he slowly returned with a wave.
"Huuuuh? You guys don't look so good. Your faces all look like you just attended two funerals in a row." Hiyoko's loud, high-pitched voice shot through the air, making you narrow your eyes slightly.
"That's, like... what happened!" Mikan squeaked out, letting her tears roll down on her cheeks once again. "Byakuya... and Teruteru got killed...!"
"I'm not talking to you, you ugly bitch!" the blonde scoffed at her in answer, sending her a sharp glare.
"Waaaah! W-Why are you always so mean to me!?" the poor nurse cried out, burying her face in her palms.
"Still, I understand about Mr. Ham Hands, but is there even a reason for us to be sad about Teruteru's death?" she huffed, ignoring Mikan's violent sobbing.
"W-What the heck do you mean...?" Kazuichi furrowed his eyebrows slightly, sweatdropping.
"Well he was a crazy guy who killed someone!" she stated with a half-hearted smile and big shrug. "He totally deserved to die!"
You sighed silently, clentching your fists under the table. Oh, how bad you wanted to slap her and strangle her to death right now.
"I understand how you feel, but you're going too far." Peko told her calmly, glaring at her.
"Huuuh? Is it all right to defend a killer? Are you trying to justify murder?" the dancer smirked, crossing her small arms.
"No... that was not my intention, but..." she sweatdropped.
"Then you gotta hate him more than ever." she cutted her off, slamming her hands on the table. "You gotta hate him from the bottom of your heart."
So, if you don't justify murder, you gotta hate the murderer from the bottom of your heart, huh...
You pressed your lips together. Yes, people had the right to hate you, but, after these strange days, you didn't feel like you don't care anymore. You felt like you wanted them to trust you. They seemed like they did, but, after Hiyoko's little whining, you weren't sure.
"... Hm?"
You picked up your head. Akane was making a weird face, sniffing into the air.
"Hey, what gives? Does a peabrain like you have something to complain about?" Hiyoko hissed at her.
"Well, it's not about that, but..." she did an even deeper sniff. "... somethin' smells, don'tcha think?"
"Eh, again!?" Sonia widened her blue orbs, dropping her cutlery into her plate, making you raise an eyebrow.
"Don't tell me... It better not be another dead body!" Ibuki sweatdropped, shivering a little.
'Oh, I guess that's how they found Byakuya's corpse. But I don't smell blood.'
"Nah, it's not the smell of blood... this time." Akane shook her head, confirming what you just thought. "It just smells really bad."
You sniffed into the air, but immediately put a hand to your nose. Yep, something definitely stinked, very badly. It smelled like your chief's old pair of socks, if you gotta give an example.
"It's kinda like how a bar or a nightclub smells after closin' time, you see." the gymnast explained further.
"I don't know those smells! You must've had a pretty rough life!" Kazuichi snapped at her, sweatdropping.
"... Now that you mention it, I do smell something. It's like a sewer or rotting garbage..." Peko narrowed her eyes, making a disgusted face.
"Kyahahahaha! I know what it is! Catmaru's breath probably stinks!" Hiyoko giggled, pointing at the huge man.
"Gah-hahaha! You've got me there!" he let out a booming laugh.
"She didn't say anything remotely funny just now..." Hajime sweatdropped.
"No, it's not Catmaru. It's coming from..." she sniffed deeply. "... you, Hiyoko." she finally finished, glaring at the small blonde.
"... Huh?" she widened her golden orbs.
"Whoa, it's true!" Kazuichi cried out, jumping up from the table as he put a hand to his nose. "Hiyoko... you reek!"
"Tch! A rotten smell stings my eyes...! As if a demonic eclipse is about to commence...!" Gundham growled out, gritting his teeth.
'

Even Gundham's bothered by it.'
"Ah... Ahhh..." she stared, mouth open wide in surprise and shock. Then soon, a waterfall of tears flowed from her eyes, her lips turning into a pout, choking back the sobs. And then...
"Waaaaaah!" she cried out, making you flinch and sweatdrop.
"Oh, she's crying!" Ibuki gasped, blinking with her pink eyes in surprise.
"Touché, Sherlock..." you mumbled as you put down your sandwich on your plate, giving up on eating.
"I've said it before, but you guys are really insensitive!" Mahiru glared at everyone else, crossing her arms.
"Ah, no... it actually doesn't smell that bad.... I mean as long as I breathe with my mouth..." Kazuichi gave an awkward smile, rubbing the back of his neck, but that just made Hiyoko cry even louder.
"Are you even takin' baths?" Akane asked her.
"Ugh..." she sobbed and hicced, wiping her tears with her small hands. Her cheeks turned red from crying. "... No."
"Y-You haven't bathed...!?" Hajime widened his eyes, his ahoge standing up in shock.
'Just how the hell does he do that!?'
"I... I can't help it..." Hiyoko sobbed. "I can't tie my kimono shash by myself... Waaaaaaahhh!"
"H-Hey... Hiyoko... You don't have to cry so much..." Mahiru smiled at her awkwardly, lifting up her hands in a calming way. "I'll tie your shash for you, okay?"
She hicced more, than looked up at the red-head with red and puffy eyes. "... Really?"
"I can only tie a simple knot, but... if that's okay with you, I can teach you." she nodded with a calming smile.
"Yaaaay!" Hiyoko cheered out, throwing herself into the photographer's arms. "I love you, Mahiru! I'll give you a kiss!"
"H-Hey, Hiyoko... You don't have to hug me." she laughed nervously, her cheeks slowly turning into her hair's color.
"... Kehehe, she appears to have taken a liking to you." Gundham chuckled, smirking at the scene. (And I now imagine Gundham sitting on a couch, watching My Little Pony yuri.)
"Welcome to the world of girl love! It's slippery when wet!" Ibuki giggled with a pose and a wink.
You sighed, holding back a smile. The tense arua just disappeared after that scene, even a few bright, smiling faces could be seen. You somehow didn't feel that down anymore either, taking a big bite of your food and happily gulping it down. It's really shocking how the people's mood can change in a matter of seconds, at least you were shocked with this new track of emotions you had. But, you guessed that finally releasing the you inside of you was a huge step in your social life. And you had these guys to thank. Even if they're the weirdest persons you ever met, you couldn't help but love them. Even that creep Nagito...
"... Huh?" you muttered out in surprise as you looked around the room. No matter how much you looked... The luckster, along with Fuyuhiko, was missing. The yakuza wasn't that much of a surprise, but where could Nagito be?
"Uhm... anyway... What happened to Fuyuhiko and Nagito?" Mikan asked silently, as if reading your thoughts. "It seems they are both... not here..."
"Ah, now that you mention it, you're right..." Hajime nods after taking a glance around the restaurant.
"I saw Fuyuhiko earlier near the hotel. I invited him for breakfast, but he declined." Peko explained, closing her ruby red eyes.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion.
'How? When I left the cottage, he was still preparing himself...'
You shook off the weird feeling you got and decided that Fuyuhiko was just being fast.
"Well, that's just Fuyuhiko being Fuyuhiko, but..." the brunette ahoge-boy sweatdropped.
"Who cares about Nagito!?" Akane interrupted him, narrowing her dark greyish-brown eyes.
"He is cursed... A child who summons misfortune, so to speak." Gundham crossed his arms with a scowl.
"Well... that may be, but..." Hajime muttered again. (Hajimeme stop worrying about your boyfriend--)
"J-Just letting you know... I don't know anything!" Catmaru suddenly snapped, sweat rolling down on his forehead. "W-Without hesitation, I-I don't know anything about Nagito at all!"
"He's right, forget him! Let's just forget about that creep already!" Kazuichi yelled too, plopping back down on his seat.
'... Those two did something.'
"... They're obviously acting suspicious, aren't they?" Chiaki asked, blinking sleepily at the two males.
"I-I'm not suspicious!" the pinkette cried out, pointing a finger at the gamer.
"Hmph! That's right! I-I'm not suspicious!" Catmaru yelled too.
You rolled your eyes, but jumped up from your seat in shock as Monokuma suddenly popped up beside you.
"Did I scare you? Puhuhu, my bad!" he laughed, making you grit your teeth in anger, then he turned to the students. "What's up? Did someone get kidnapped or something?"
"Y-You came just at the right time!" Kittymaru roared out.
"Hm? At the right time?" the bear tilted his head.
"... N-No... it's nothing..." he clentched his fists and shut up.
Monokuma suddenly started to sweat hardly, with a quite... perverted aura around him.
"I don't really get it, but... you must've yearned for me." he breathed out. "Your outlook on life has changed due to my cuteness, so your body can't stand to live without me, is that it?" He then started... moaning, acting like he's quoting everyone. "'I-I can't help myself, you know... M-My body... reacts to Monokuma... on it's own...'"
You rolled your eyes and lifted your glass of orange juice to your mouth, gulping down your drink slowly.
"... Somethin' like that, ya know, what [F/N] thinks about the hottie ultimates every night?" he finished with a grin, and you choked, spitting out your drink.
"Dude, what the hell!?" you heard Kazuichi scream out.
You looked around the room. Many people had blushes on their faces, but the three boys were the worst. Hajime was gaping in shock with a tomato red face, then he quickly hid his face in his palms, Gundham was literally hiding his whole face in his scarf, and Kazuichi was screaming curses at Monokuma, with a face as pink as his hair.
You knew that you probably didn't look any better. You knew that too that Monokuma targeted you or whatever, because he would usually tease everyone and not just one person in particular. But why?
'Geez, I'm so lucky that Fuyuhiko and Nagito didn't see this... Wait like why do I even care? It's not like it's true and it's not like it's embarassing or I care about it in any way...'
~Dude, you have to accept the truth.~
You groaned and faceplanted onto the table.
(Don't ask what I'm doing.)
"... J-Just hurry up and tell us why you're here." you heard Mahiru stutter.
"To be honest, I'm searching too. My valuent servant... has disappeared."
You picked up your head in surprise.
"Servant...?" Hajime blinked, his blush calming down.
"You know, my Monobeasts... One of them just disappeared..." he muttered, having a gloomy aura around himself.
'Huh? How can a huge robot just disappear?'
"Maybe I cut back on the cost of their food too much? Perhaps they're boycotting me?" the bear wondered, looking in the distance.
"'But... that guy is the weakest of the Leauge of Four... How shameful for a Monobeast to lose to a mere human...'" Gundham muttered darkly, then smirked. "... That's what you want to say, right?"
"Hm?" Monokuma looked at him.
"Though this is merely the prelude, the climax will occur soon after..." he continued. "Now then, let me hear your scream! I shall make such sweet music for you!" (Gundham wrong anime- this is not UtaPri...

COUGH excuse me I just imagined Gundham singing Maji Love 1000% like "Are you ready~?"--)
"Hmhmhmhmhm!?" the bear hummed furiously.
"Hey Gundham... You should stop playing with that stuffed animal." Mahiru scoffed.
"I'm still being called a stuffed animal..." Monokuma huffed sadly. "Oh well... It looks like you guys don't know anything about my Monobeast either... Then it's a waste of time for me to worry about it. I don't wanna go bald from worrying too much. A wise catbot once said, 'Our eyes are on the front so we can keep moving forward!'"
And with a spin, he once again disappeared into thin air.
"Hey, what do you think he meant just now? He said something about a Monobeast disappearing..." Peko muttered, furrowing her eyebrows.
"Hmm... The only possibility I can think of is..." Chiaki hummed, lifting an index finger to her chin, but she was interrupted by a certain rabbit who popped out of nowhere.
"Uhm... Were you in the middle of something? If so, I can just come back later..." Monomi mumbled shyly as she appeared beside the gamer's legs.
"Then leave." Akane hissed at her.
"Kyaa! At least ask me to leave kindly!" she cried out.
"Ah, before you leave, I want to ask you something." Chiaki looked down at her. "Did you have anything to do with the disappearing Monobeast?"
"Ah, yes! That's right!" she nodded happily, her tears disappearing in a flash. "Tadaaaaa! I'm the one who defeated that Monobeast!"
"Y-You did!?" Hajime widened his hazel eyes.
"Defeating a monster like that... How the hell did someone like you pull that off?" Kazuichi raised his eyebrow with a sweatdrop.
"I'll talk about that in more detail in a different mode." she giggled with childish smile, making you furrow your eyebrows at the word 'mode', but you just shook it off. "Anyway, I've released the bridge gate for you all!"
"If the gate is open... That means we can go to the new island across the bridge, right?" the pinkette gamer asked with a slight tilt of her head. (Gurl stop copying Ai Mikaze--

COUGH Ok too much Utapri in this chapter sorrrrrry)
"I-IS THAT TRUEEEEEEEEE!?" Catmaru roared out in a booming voice.
"Ahem! That's totally right!" Monomi nodded once again, placing her paws on her hips(?) proudly. "Now that you all can go to more areas, let's all get along and live a fun life together for sure this time! Love! Love!"
"L-Living together on this island isn't what's important... W-We need to find a way to escape." Mikan wiped a tear from the corner of her purple eye, mumbling in a trembling voice.
"Of course! Escaping from this island is our main goal!" Mahiru nodded with a confident expression.
"... Huh?" the rabbit tilted her head.
"Nobody wants to live in a swashbuckling, Hollywood type, action film!" Ibuki yelled angrily.
"I want to live a life where I can be more average... a life where nothing happens... that's better for me..." the nurse mumbled sadly, playing with her fingers.
"What wouldn't I give for an average life..." you murmured under your breath, angrily stabbing your fork in a piece of bacon. A few students heard and stole confused or worried glances at you, but they just shook it off.
"All right! If you find anything that can be salvaged for boat parts, let me know immediately!" Kazuichi cried out in excitement, showing a cheeky grin, making you smile only a little.
"I-It seems that... everyone's united on a path that's different from what I had planned..." Monomi muttered, her ears bending downwards in sadness.
"Fuhaha! Then let's disperse! The time has come to release the cursed seal!" Gundham laughed, making a weird pose.
"All right! Let's find a way to leave this island!" Akane grinned, rubbing her fists.
"That is... impossible..."
"... Hm?" Hajime looked at the rabbit confused, who was mumbling with teary eyes.
"Leaving the island... is no longer possible..." she choked back a sob.
"... No longer possible?" the brunette repeated. (...(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) "Hey... what does that...?"
But before Hajime could finish that sentence, Monomi was gone.
"Hey Hajime... Just leave that thing alone already!" Kazuichi growled with a wave of his hand. "After all... she's the same as Monokuma. It's better if you don't get that close to her."
"Y-You're right..." he nodded after a few seconds of hesitation.
'So I guess we are now exploring the new island.'
~I can't wait to see the hamburger diner.~
'How do you even know that there will be one?'
~I can see the future. You know, uhm, mental voice... stuff.~
'... Sure...?'
You stood up from the table. The only ones that were left were Hiyoko, Mahiru and Hajime.
"A new island, huh...? I should go find some clues too..." the red-head muttered to herself, apparently thinking out loud.
"Eh, you can't! You promised you'd tie my kimono sash!" Hiyoko huffed, puffing out her cheeks childishly.
"T-That was... we can do that after we finish exploring the new island..." she sweatdropped, smiling awkwardly.
"B-But... if I don't hurry and go take a bath..." she started with a pout, then tears flowed from her eyes like a waterfall. "They'll *sob* call me smelly again... They're *sniff* gonna bully me again..."
"O-Okay... then let's take a light shower first..." she quickly made up her mind.
"Yay, we're gonna wash each other!" the blonde cheered, her tears disappearing just like that, similarly to Monomi.
"Huh? Wash each other?" Mahiru blinked in surprise. "H-Hold on. I-I don't think it's a good idea for me to go in too..."
"Now now, we're both girls. There's no need to be shy!" Hiyoko giggled with a teasing wink.
"B-But..." she stuttered, her cheeks slightly turning red.
"C'mon, let's go!" she grabbed her wrist and dragged her out of the restaurant, leaving you and Hajime alone.
The brunette looked after them, seeming like he was thinking of something. Then his cheeks started to turn a bit red.
"... You're totally having dirty thoughts." you leaned above his shoulder, narrowing your eyes.
"AAAH!" he jumped so high that he could've touch the ceiling. "... [F-F/N]! I didn't see that you were still here too! Don't scare me like that!"
"Sorry." you muttered with a half shrug.
He sighed. "What are you still doing here?"
"I was argu-- I mean, I finished my breakfast." you quickly pointed at your empty plate.
"Oh. I see..."
"Anyway..." you groaned out, stretching your arms and closing your eyes shut for a second. "We should see what's this new island about, right?"
"Yeah..." he nodded. "By the way, uh... [F/N]."
"Hm?" you opened one eye, looking at him.
"... I uh... I'm glad that you... t-that you opened up to us." he muttered awkwardly, looking away.
"... And now how did that come here?" you released your arms and looked at him confused.
"... I-I don't know, forget it."
"..." you chuckled. "If that makes you glad, I'm happy about it too. Even if I don't show it very much."
You turned your back on him and started walking out. "I wonder what they have in stock on that island for us. After an airport that's like, totally meaningless, I don't except normal things."
"Yeah..." you heard him say with a sigh.
"What could be the next? An ancient ruin?"

~■♡■~

"I was only kidding..." you muttered with a sweatdrop after you arrived on the island, staring at the biggest place on it; an ancient ruin-looking like building, which was covered with plants, dust and other stuff.
Hajime choked back a laugh.
You looked around quickly, and you found the second place to sweatdrop at.
'... A diner.'
~A hamburger diner, in fact.~
'I thought you'd say something like 'told ya'.'
~Oh yeah. Told ya.~
'Sigh... I guess I'll go there first.'
After another small argument with your inner voice, you followed Hajime and went towards this so-called diner.

Hajime stepped in, and you soon followed him... Although you'd never have expected who was there. At reflex, you quickly hid before that certain person could look up to see you - Hajime seemed surprised by his presence too.
"Oh... it's you..." Fuyuhiko murmured after looking up, glaring at the brunette in front of him. "I'm trying to eat right now! Go away, dumbass!"
'... Wait a second. How is he even here? I mean, he shouldn't have known he is able to come here, because he wasn't present when Monomi told us. I'm sure I didn't tell him either...'
"Hey, why are you here? How'd you find out we can go to this island?" Hajime asked him, apparently thinking the same thing.
"Are you a monkey or something? Do you not understand human language?" he looked up at the ahoge-boy once again, furrowing his eyebrows. "I told you to leave me alone while I'm eating!"
Hajime continued to stare at him, and he sighed.
"Hmph, an annoying person went out of their way to tell me."
'Annoying person? Is he talking about Monomi or...?'
"Then I found this place, and now I'm eating here because I'm hungry." he continued.
'I told you to come to breakfast.'
"Mystery solved! You happy now? So... get the fuck out of here and go somewhere else."
"Hey, about that annoying person..." Hajime started, but the yakuza cut him off.
"Huuuh!? Mind your own business! It's got nothing to do with you!" he yelled at him, furious.
"... Actually... It does have to do with me..." he muttered. "I don't know what you're thinking, but... we're all in this situation together. You're not the only one stuck on this island... We all have to work together. You should know that by now, too... So... Why are you avoiding us!?"
"Hmph... I'm not avoiding you bastards." Fuyuhiko clicked his tounge in annoyence. "... I've just decided not to rely on anyone."
"Not to rely on anyone...?" Hajime repeated. ((╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
"That includes the Kuzuryuu Clan... I can still survive without relying on them..." he crossed his arms. Hajime stared at him in surprise.
"Hey... are you actually..." he started, but the blonde cut him off once again.
"Don't get it twisted. I'm a yakuza by blood. It's not like I don't want to head the family business someday." he smirked. "I just want to prove I've earned it. Prove I can tough it on my own without relying on my clan. Plus... even if I fail, the clan will still be around. My little sister would be happy to lead it..."
You almost gasped in surprise, but you quickly put a hand to your mouth.
'Little sister?'
"Oh... you have a little sister?" the ahoge-boy asked too.
'Is this guy reading my mind?'
"S-Shut up! Why'd you let me bring that up anyway!?" Fuyuhiko screamed at him as if he said something wrong.
'So he has a little sister. I guess that's not that of a shocker, I mean a yakuza can have siblings too...'
"Anyway, I don't intend to spend any time with you guys. Nothing good can come of it."
You rolled your eyes at that statement, while Hajime repeated ((╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) the sentence in confusion.
"Hmph, isn't it obvious...? In this kind of situation, interaction with others will just shorten your lifespan..."
You clentched your fists.
'Shut up...! Don't remind me of my home!'
"Those idiots, Byakuya and Teruteru, are proof of that."
'How dare he!? They just wanted to save their loved ones...! I wasn't able to...!'
~Woah, woah, calm down!~
"Plus... it'd be frustrating to be held back by affection when it's my time to kill!" he grinned.
"You... you're still saying that... Even after [F/N]..." Hajime muttered sadly.
"Don't remind me of that dramatic, good for nothing bitch please." he growled. "I'll be ready to sacrifice her and everyone else here if it guarantees my survival."
You were staring in front of yourself with wide eyes.
"....Haha..." you laughed darkly, making the two boys jump. You came out of your hiding spot and looked at the blonde with a sarcastic smile. "I see. This dramatic, good for nothing bitch heard every single thing you said..."
"[L/N]?" he mumbled with wide eyes.
"I see that I overrated you my dear friend. I- I don't even know why I started to believe that you're a good person. Maybe because you helped me in Byakuya's case. But I should've known that all you were doing was saving your selfish ass."
"[L/N]-"
"Don't "[L/N]" me!" you screamed at him. "You tried to kill me once Fuyuhiko, you pulled that freaking tigger! If Nagito- If Nagito, who is even a better person than you, doesn't save me I would be dead because you want to save yourself and that's disgusting! You want to- you want to leave everyone here behind in the dust, just to leave your life with your clan!? Is that what you really want!? 14, 14 deaths would dry on your soul, and I- I know the feeling and I know how unbearable it is!"
"Shut the fuck up!!" he snapped at the top of his lungs. "No matter what you say, I will fucking kill you and everyone else! I don't give a shit on your miserable lives, who do you think I am!? I'm the heir to the Kuzuryuu Clan, you think this is unfamiliar to me!? How many people do you think I killed!? How many children, how many stupid sluts like you, how many mans!? Do you want me to count, huh!?"
"... No." you glared at him, then turned around and stormed out of the diner.
(... I have nooo idea how did this turn this dramatic. •-• Excuse me, I'm a drama lover nerd.)
"... Are you happy now?" Hajime glared at the yakuza, then ran after you.
Fuyuhiko stared at the place where once you stood. He growled to himself and threw his burger in k̶o̶m̶a̶e̶d̶a the trashcan, then kicked it in anger.

~■♡■~

"[F/N], wait!"
"Leave me alone, Hajime." you hissed as you fought with your tears, not even facing him.
"[F/N], please calm down! You- you know Fuyuhiko, he is a yakuza-"
"So what!?" you cried out as you stopped and looked at the brunette with eyes red from held back tears. "He doesn't have the right to talk like that! All he cares - all he cares about is himself, he would be able kill someone here just to save his skin and that's disgusting!"
Suddenly, a voice talked. No, not your annoying inner voice. This was a little, silent, but dreadfully honest voice, yourself, speaking the undeniable truth.
You were doing the same.
And it was true. You murdered hundreds of elders, mothers, children, whole families, just to avoid the tortures that you had to go through every time you refused.
"... I... I am the one who is disgusting." you whispered as you let your tears fall. "I'm being a know-it-all, when I was doing the same... He is right, I'm a dramatic good for nothing bitch."
"D-Don't speak like that!" Hajime stuttered, trying to grab your shoulders, but you slapped his hands away.
"No, Hajime! I've killed hundreds of people, hundreds, just to save myself, you understand!? And- And I'm hating Fuyuhiko for wanting to kill one!"
(I'm cringing. What's the sudden drama, Sakura? What's the sudden dramaaaa?)
"... What do you mean, just to save yourself? Save yourself from what?" he looked at you worried.
"... That's not important."
"[F/N]-"
"I said it's not important alright!?"
"No [F/N], now you listen to me! I- I don't know about your past and what you've done in your life, but you're important to us, [F/N]... You are not disgusting, you are honestly one of the... most amazing persons I've ever met... And you are my friend, you are our friend, and we'll get through this together, alright? Fuyuhiko will understand too..."
You bit your lips and looked away.
"Those are just empty words."
"Maybe they are, but what's important that we are here for each other."
He grabbed both of your hands.
"[F/N], you are very important to us. Please don't think that of yourself... You- You are amazing."
(This is the worst moment ever- Eeeeeh)
"..." you looked down.
"Remember the class trial? Everyone believed in you, [F/N], Fuyuhiko too. Everyone trusts you... Everyone..." he smiled at that part and blushed a little, "... loves... you."
"... Are you having dirty thoughts again?"
"... WHAT THE HELL [F/N]!" he blushed a tomato red and let go of your hands, making you laugh.
"Don't speak emotional things like that." you smiled and sniffed, patting his shoulder. "It doesn't suit you."
"You totally ruined the moment." he sulked and sighed. "Whatever."
You chuckled and turned to walk off, Hajime soon following you with a yell of annoyence.

A certain blonde watched the whole scene through the windows of the diner, gritting his teeth. He felt different emotions; anger, annoyence, even a hint of sadness...

And jealousy.

~■♡■~

You two were now at a place named h̶e̶a̶t̶h̶e̶r Chandler Beach. You were about to look around when...
"... Aah... AAAAAHH!"
You and Hajime picked up your heads after hearing the terrifying scream, you both turning as pale as a ghost.
"That sounds like..." Hajime muttered, and you finished his sentence.
"Ibuki!"
You two quickly ran to find the musician - it didn't take too long. She was on the beach, standing in the soft sand. Her wide, pink orbs were staring at something blankly, her face was pale.
"Ohno... ohnoohnoohno...!" she mumbled.
"Ibuki, are you alright?" Hajime asked her worried.
"What the hell happened!?" you added.
"Th-Thisisbad!" she cried, pressing her eyes shut in panic. "I'mpanickingsomuchIdon'tevenhavetimetospacemywords!"
"What the hell- What's going on??" you furrowed your eyebrows at her behavior.
"T-The killing... The killing started again...! Look! Over there!" she shakily lifted up her hand and pointed at the other side of the beach, making the both of you turn that way.
"MUDADADADADA!" a female voice cried out between groans of punching and fighting. It was Akane, fighting with Catmaru epicly. You sweatdropped a little, seeing immediately what was really going on.
"Your speed is adequate, but it's still not enough! Each blow you land is too soft!" the man roared, dodging every single hit.
You could see on Hajime's face that he was confused about the scene, his body trembling with worry.
"You're not using your muscles properly! Your athletic body is going to waste!" the raven-haired male continued, blocking the gymnast's kicks.
"Shut up!" she growled, giving a roundhouse kick. "All I gotta do is win!"
"... What was that? You're gonna win? Against me?" Catmaru chuckled with a raise of his stormy eyebrows. "That's quite... ABSUUUUUURRRRRDDD!"
He rubbed his fists together after a big roar, and it seemed like electricity came alive between his knuckles. He gritted his teeth and aimed with the super-fist, punching Akane in the stomach hard.
"GYWAAAH!" she screamed out and flew back, collapsing on the ground.
"... Ouch." you flinched, gritting your teeth and hissing a little.
"... Had enough? Have you learned your lesson!?" he growled.
"H-He's done it! Kittymaru Nidai's Ultimate Move: Super Body Blow!" Ibuki jabbered out in a screaming voice, looking at Akane with eyes as wide as saucers. "That's instant death! If she's lucky, she'll live another five minutes at best!"
"Akane... at your current power level, you cannot even defeat a mere team manager." Catmaru stated seriously, crossing his arms.
"W-What are you saying!? Why are you guys fighting!?" Hajime screamed, as pale as a ghost.
"They aren't fighting, Hajime..." you sighed, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Yep! It's more like a one-sided beatdown!" Ibuki yelled out pointing at the groaning Akane on the ground.
"T-That's even worse!" the brunette yelped. "The rules for the school trip clearly state, 'Excessive violence is probihited'..."
"What violence!? This is not a real fight!" the team manager snapped at him.
"Hajime... They are training." you looked at him with a "trying-to-stay-kind-but-you're-still-an-idiot" look.
"B-But it looked like a real fight!" he lifted his hands up in a defensive way sweatdropping.
"Ha!" the team manager roared out. "I'm just a team manager. There's no way I would be able to fight for real..."
"If you think this is a real fight, you've never seen a real one." you sighed.
"I-!...."
"We both agreed to this training session! I'm not violating any rules at all!" he shook his head.
"... E-Even so..." Hajime mumbled, lowering his hands. "Why the sudden interest in training...?"
"If you're gonna say "This isn't a situation we should be training, we are kidnapped", you gotta sleep with open eyes." you pursed your lips in irritation, leaning in his face.
"... I-I wasn't gonna say that." he mumbled pushing your forehead back with his pointer finger.
"Gh..." Akane got up from the ground, stretches all over her body. "If I gotta admit..."
"Ah, she's alive!" Ibuki gasped, putting her hands in front of her mouth and looking at the others with a "who expected that!?" face.
"She's not a weakling who'd get killed by a weak blow like that..." Catmaru grumbled with a shrug, scratching his ear.
"H-He looked pretty strong... so I couldn't help... but get excited..." she groaned out, running a hand through her wild, brown locks. "I thought sparrin' would help me burn off some of this energy, but... I lost."
She then stretched her arms and put a smile on her face. "More importantly... There's a lotta strong dudes in this world, huh?"
"Not just 'dudes'." you scoffed. "There are strong women too, if I gotta say."
"Ah, [F/N]! I didn't notice ya were here too, dudette!" she grinned. "I wanted to ask ya a hundreds of times already but ya just kept on disappearin', ya know? Don'tcha want to train with me!?" she rubbed her fists, getting excited once again.
You rolled your eyes a little then with a sudden move, grabbed her arm and twisted it, then pushed her on the ground, making her flinch and cried out in pain. "... I don't think I need training, thank you." you said with a little smirk.
"H-Hey! Not fair, I wasn't prepared!" she whined as you released her.
"Constant vigilance." you crossed your arms with a serious look on your face.
"Eh? What's that supposed to mean?" she furrowed her eyebrows.
"I've always been taught that there is no prepare in fight. You always have to be ready, because the enemy don't sleep. Anyone can strike at every single moment in your life, that's why you always have to be vigilant, no matter what." you explained then turned around, walking away. "Remember that."
"Constant vigilance, huh?" you heard her mutter, probably thinking you don't hear her "Are ya vigilant enough for this...!?"
She wanted to kick you from behind, but you grabbed her leg and twisted it, then punched her twice in the face before a final roundhouse kick, sending her to the ground.
"Can't touch this." you mumbled. "Also sorry if I was rough. I've just fought and killed, never trained, so I don't really know how to hold back."
"It's 'kay, dudette..." she mumbled with a groan, standing up. "Constant vigilance. Got it..."
"... What a bunch of battle-loving troublemakers!" Ibuki huffed childishly.
"Akane... It seems you're the type who learns through actions rather than words, just as this scene represented just now..." Catmaru murmured. "So I shall give you just one piece of advice. How you use your body and muscles... Your positioning and timing... It's all half-assed. You are not utilizing your Ultimate Gymnast talent well at all."
He pointed one of his thick fingers at her, roaring in his booming voice. "Basics! Make sure you understand the basics! You'll always be second-rate if you just rely on instinct!"
"D-Dammit... Shut up..." she glared at him, gritting her teeth.
"If you understand what I just said, come see me. When that time comes... I will fight you once again." he sighed with crossed arms.
"Heh, ya better not forget what you just said. My desire to win is pretty crazy!" she smirked. "And [F/N], I'll totally fight ya once I've finished too! I won't give up until I beat ya two!"
And with that, she was gone.
"I won't fight her. I might kill her accidently." you stated, crossing your arms.
"Y-Yeah, that's not that of a good idea..." Hajime sweatdropped.
"If she fought that fiercely with just her own style... How ominous. My hands are still numb..." Catmaru murmured.
You stole a glance at Ibuki, and she did the same.
'What did she say at me and the other boys earlier...? Oh yeah.

I SHIP IT.'
"Catmaru and Akane sitting on a tree! K-I-S-S--" she started whisperyelling, but you quickly put a hand to her mouth before the male could hear her. You glared at her with a "I-agree-with-you-but-shut-the-fuck-up" look, and you removed your hand from her mouth after she nodded.
"That girl... She's probably gonna get even stronger." she hummed, quickly changing the topic.
"Yeah... you're probably right..." Catmaru nodded.
"... Um, [F/N], I think we should continue on with the explore." Hajime coughed after a few seconds of awkward silence.
"So you decided that you'll stick with me?" you tilted your head slightly.
"... I-If it's not a problem." he looked away, his cheeks flushing only a little bit. You only shrugged and grabbed his wrist, starting to walk towards the building that was on the beach.
"You don't have to drag me, you know." he glared at you a little annoyed.
"I do, because you're a slowpoke."
"S-Shut up!!"

~■♡■~

The building was a luxurious-looking beach house. It looked like it even had a some kind of shower, but the sign on it's door told it was out of order so that didn't really mean anything.
"Oh, you guys are here too?"
You turned to where the voice was coming from. Kazuichi was present too, looking at your locked hands with an angry scowl. You let go of Hajime's wrist and stepped closer to the pinkette.
"What's with that stare, lover boy." you huffed, flicking his forehead, making him flinch and blush.
"I-I'm not-!!"
"Just kidding, just kidding." you waved your hands, then looked around in the beach house once more. "It looks pretty cool."
"Oh yeah!" he grinned, his blush calming some. "Like a celebrity's pad or something. The shower is out of order, but the ambience is nice... and the fridge is stocked with loads of drinks... Hehe, plus the beach outside feels so private. It's awesome! Compared to urban seas that are full of trash and debris, this place is completely different!"
"We're the only ones on this island anyway, so anywhere we go is a private beach..." Hajime sweatdropped with a "duh" face.
"Hey hey!... Don't shatter my dreams like that!" he whined with an angry pout. "More importantly, why don't we splash around at this private beach!? Awesome! Totally awesome! Splashing around at such a gorgeous beach is really the best!"
You smiled a little.
'He is kinda adorable when he's like that...'
~Did I hear that right, Juliet?~
'JUST GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HEAD.'
He sighed dreamily. "I wonder if Miss Sonia and [F/N] would come too... I want to see them in a bikini..."
'...'
~I guess he's not that adorable now...~
You felt your cheeks flush and you flicked his forehead once again. "Baka, I'm here too you know. And I don't think bikini's my thing..." you muttered as you remembered the burns and wounds all over your body, and you instinctively pulled down the long sleeve of your shirt even more. He blushed a little and laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"You can't!" Monomi suddenly popped out of nowhere.
"Whoa! It's here!" Kazuichi cried out, jumping up 2 feet in the air. "Why not? Are you trying to interfere with my love affair with Miss Sonia and [F/N]!?"
'Is he for real!?'
~What is this smell? Oh I know! Love is in the air!~
'YOU WILL BE IN THE AIR IF YOU DON'T SHUT UP.'
~You do realize that you're just imagining me right? You can't hurt me.~
'...'
~So sad but true.~
"Changing in the beach house is probihited! It would be bad if shameful peeking occured!" the rabbit huffed seriously, crossing her... arm... paw... things...
"Ah, so you mean changing here isn't allowed, not going to the beach itself..." Hajime muttered, lifting his hand to his chin.
"Then I'll just have to come here after changing." the mechanic put his hand on his hips, grinning proudly as he was a genius. "I'm never gonna give them up!"
"You might let them down though..." the ahoge-boy remarked silently.

(...

COUGH- Yes I edited this that's why it's crap. XD
Edit: WTF why do pictures keep disappearing from my writings)
You choked back a laugh at his comment.
"Anyway, breaking the rules is not allowed." Monomi stated. "Also, playing is fine, but please focus on your studies, too..."
Suddenly, Monokuma popped out of nowhere once again, with a... gun that was bigger than himself. "W-Where!? Where is the rule breaker!? I'll beat the crap out of them, no questions asked!"
"Kyaah! He's here!" she squeaked, jumping back from the bear.
"Y-You... What are you holding...?" Hajime gulped at the weapon.
Monokuma was breathing heavily, holding the gun tightly in his paws. "This is a machine gun... Obviously... Rule breakers will be shot to death... That's just common sense...!"
"It's 'common sense' where!?" Kazuichi screamed at him. "It's not like we're under a military dictatorship!"
"Ugh... I wanna shoot something... I know I'm not allowed to... but I really wanna shoot something right now!" the bear whined.
"Shoot yourself in the gut and fuck off." you rolled your eyes.
"Eek! Such a bad language is not welcome on this school trip!" Monomi squeaked waving her paws.
"Oh shut up shut up shut up!" Monokuma growled at her and kicked her away. "Anyway." he coughed and threw away the gun in a corner. "I have iron willpower! I will wait for the fricken' day when someone breaks the rules! Puhuhuhu!"
(Yes, I changed this a little because the reader cutted in and it changed Monokuma's moaning to his usual self. :P)
And with that, he disappeared once again.
"... Nyeh... Um..." Monomi muttered after getting up from the ground. "A-As you can see, it's very dangerous, so please refrain from changing at the beach house..."
Then she excused herself too.
".... Wow. That was... totally bizarre..." the pinkette sweatdropped after a few seconds of silence, then groaned. "Man, they're annoying..."
"... Yeah, I feel very tired all of a sudden." Hajime nodded slightly narrowing his eyes.
"I wish they would just kill each other off and we would never have to see them again..." you muttered in agreement, then sighed and moved from the place you three were frozen at and opened the door in the back.
"Looks like a closet." you muttered once looking around the dark room.
~What would you say at this? Oh yeah. Touché, Sherlock.~
"Shut up." you groaned out.
"... Who are you talking to?" Hajime sweatdropped.
"... Shut uuuup! There's no way that there are surfboards in this closet!" you put on an awkward smile but it looked rather like a snarl. Hajime looked at you weirdly, while Kazuichi wasn't paying attention, humming a tune that oddly felt familiar to you.
(IDK how to write this down so
"Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down-"

I'm terrible at puns forgive me)
"... Is there someone who believes this? No? Alright..." you muttered and closed the closet's door.
'You better shut up before you make me a complete clown in front of everyone.'
~Bossy.~
You shook your head and looked at the huge fridge not too far beside the closet. It was full of drinks, from water to coffee.
"I'm starting to think those pets robbed a hypermarket to prepare all of these." you pursed your lips, furrowing your eyebrows at the unbelievable amount of grape Panta.
"Ooh, is that soda?" Kazuichi grinned as he pointed at one of the soda cans. Hajime sweatdropped at him, then turned to you. "I think if they did, that just worsens our situation. Trapped on an island with criminals..."
"I was wondering where you left your pessimistic side." you huffed. "Stop worrying and look for answers instead."
"I don't think we find the answers in a fridge full of drinks." he muttered while watching Kazuichi admiring the different types of sodas.
"Neither do I... But I think he does." you sighed. "Let's just go."
"No, wait." he grabbed your arm and pulled you back. "I have something to ask Kazuichi."
"You do?" you and the mechanic asked in unison.
"Yeah... I'd like to ask you about Nagito."
"Uuuugh!?" he cried out, jumping back in shock.
"Now that you mention it, I didn't see him all day. When he'd usually stick around us." you lifted your hand to your chin.
"Do you know where he is?" the brunette asked from him.
"I-I don't know... Seriously, don't ask me..." he looked away, sweating slightly. "Who cares about that crazy-ass bastard! We need to search this island first and foremost! There might be a way to escape!"
He started pushing you two towards the exit. "So let's just end all annoying talk right here! That's it! All done!"
He pushed you out of the house and closed the door behind you.
"..."
"He's hiding something."
"Definitely."

~■♡■~

You pushed the door open to a place that the sign said was a pharmacy, Hajime following closely behind you. You sweatdropped when you saw the Ultimate Nurse was running around the place letting out squeaks and cries of joy.
"W-What's with you...?" Hajime furrowed his eyebrows at her behavior. She quickly stopped once she saw you two in the doorway and slapped her hands over her mouth.
"Ah... I'm sorry..." she said in an almost whisper. "... I got so excited I started shouting."
She smiled again letting her hands down. "Nyu... I was so happy that someone talked to me... Before... people either hated me or were grossed out by me..."
"Same, just add the third choice as scared." you stated with a shrug.
"..."
"Ignore what I said." you waved your hand quickly.
~You NEED to learn to not say out what you think.~
'My socializing is on level 0, you know!'
"Anyway," you coughed, "is this a drugstore? It looks pretty um... spacious."
"Uhm... With all these medical supplies, I'm pretty sure we can handle most illnesses or injuries..." Mikan muttered, shyly brushing a piece of her wild purple hair behind her ear, smiling a little. "Hehe... If you don't feel well, let me know. I'll give you lots of shots... Lots and lots of shots..."
You gulped. "... I will... think about it."
You looked at the shelves.
'That's a lot of medicine.'
~I feel nostalgic...~
'....'
~... Perhaps I should learn to not say those things out loud too. Haha...~
'...... Aaaaaalright.'
"Let's just leave her alone..." Hajime muttered, pointing at the nurse who was once again running around.
"Okay..."

~■♡■~

You looked around inside the bigger building you just stepped in with the ahoge-boy. Thousands of books were put on the shelves that were covering the walls. Smaller tables were put around the room, each circled with four chairs. In the four corners, you could see statues of Monokuma, grinning down at you while placing his paws on his hips. You also saw Monomi statues crushed on the ground - the bear must've found the statues too un-despairlike and decided to replace them...
"A library." you muttered out. "That's a lot of books."
"Yeah, it's pretty overwhelming." Hajime nodded in agreement.
You decided to check out a few of the books and took down a random book, opening it on a random page.
'What kind of language is this...?'
"Hmm... Such an interesting description." you heard a female voice hum silently, and you looked at her. Sonia was running her pointer finger through the lines of a book that looked more like a magazine.
"What are you reading?" the brunette peaked above her shoulder curiously. "Are those political books, or maybe some kind of philosophy...?"
"The newest issue of Occult Magazine!" she answered with a perfect smile, showing Hajime the cover. "It breaks the lid off underground mysteries and the wonders of the world!"
"T-That's quite a surprise..." he blinked at her with a sweatdrop.
"I-It is not like I read it often. I am just reading it has a special article about serial killers!" she quickly added, which made Hajime sweatdrop even more.
'I wouldn't use that for an excuse...'
"It seems... this writer has very good taste." the princess muttered returning her attention to the magazine. "I mean, even Genocide Jack is mentioned in the article..."
~Genocide Jack? Did she say Genocide Jack...?~
"Hm... that Genocide Jack or whatever... I feel like I've heard about her before..." Hajime mumbled, lifting a hand to his chin.
"Genocide Jack is an alleged japanese serial killer who has a reputation even among casual internet users." Sonia explained. "She is very popular among youths and is known for writing messages in blood at the scene of the crime. Apparently she is a high school or middle school student who wears a sailor uniform. Be careful."
She turned a page and her blue eyes brightened with sparkling interest.
"Ah... this one is a particular favorite of mine... Sparkling Justice is a regular subject of these kinds of exclusive articles. I shall explain it to you just in case..."
She excitedly started to run through the article while talking.
"Sparkling Justice is a serial killer who calls themselves "The Ally of Justice"! Wearing a wide variety of hero masks, Sparkling Justice is a delightful serial killer who only kills criminals!"
"S-Sonia... calm down..." he sweatdropped after she started to jump up and down a little.
'She gets so excited over serial killers... It's kinda sick.'
"Thanks to the masks Sparkling Justice wears, nobody knows their real age or gender." she continued ignoring the brunette. "After all, it is essential that serial killers be mysterious! What an expert, yes!"
"Hey, you three..." a deeper female voice mumbled, and you turned your head to see Peko. "I've been listening in for a while now, but... Why are you talking about mere murderers with such enthusiasm?"
"I haven't done any talking." you and Hajime said in unison, but before you could react one the coincidence Sonia cutted in.
"Please hold on! It is a mistake to refer to these people as mere murderers!" she snapped somehow still in a soft voice, hugging the magazine to her chest. "Coming in contact with a value system that differs from your own is a very important matter. Serial killers... their value system is very different than the norm... What a marvelous existence!" she cheered with sparkles in her eyes. "Haaaah! I am totes intrigued!"
You looked at her weirdly.
'How can she get so pumped up... over such horrible persons? Also, a person who kills criminals? They remind me of a certain person who writes people's name in a deadly notebook...'
(If someone gets the reference they'll get a virtual hug)
Meanwhile, Sonia looked around the shelves more, and you jumped a little when she said "I am a little a surprised!"
You looked at her. She admired like, the whole room, smiling at the thousands of books.
"I never expected to find such a splendid facility. It rivals even my homeland's national library..."
"But isn't it strange?" Hajime hummed, resting his chin in his palm. "I mean, does a resort really need a library like this?"
"That is very true and... just as expected, nobody is here either." she sighed sadly.
"You're right... The fact that we're the only humans around here is even more strange..." he nodded.
"Guys..." you groaned. "What do you not understand in the word uninhabited??? I mean, yeah, it may have been full of people once, but now it's empty! Monomi said it at the very start, to quote, 'an island free from other people and danger'... But I guess we can forget that last part." you finished with a frown, but your expression changed into a shocked face. "AH!"
Monomi was sitting on a table suddenly with a book in her ha- erhm... paws.
"Tadaaa! Monomi is here! I'm reading a book."
"Why the hell do you keep appearing out or nowhere like that!?" you groaned.
"Ah... well... my legs are tiny... and I can't run well... so I teleport..." she muttered shyly, but then very suddenly smiled at the small group again. "Ah, since you've come here, would you like me to explain this library to you?"
"... I-I see..." the blonde princess muttered with an awkward smile on her face.
"It's clear from your face I'm a nuisance... Since I changed moods so suddenly... I feel even emptier now..." the rabbit sulked.
"... And what about your explanation?" Hajime looked at her with crossed arms.
"Well, you're all basically students, right? I was thinking you needed a place where you can do homework..." she muttered shyly.
'What homework exactly? We're like not attending any classes at all...'
"... Sooooo I have prepared this library!" she said cheerfully once again.
"Prepared... You?" Sonia tilted her head slightly.
"Hehe, everyone can get along and study together. It's a student's duty to study." she giggled lifting up her paws.
"... Don't act like a teacher." Hajime narrowed his eyes at her.
"I am a teacher!" she huffed waving her arms.
"..." he stared at her for a moment. "You... you're even more confusing than Monokuma. So what's your real identity? What's your purpose?"
"R-Real identity...? Now that's silly..." she muttered, placing her paws together and looking down. She stayed silent for a few seconds then said her farewell and disappeared.
"Of course." you rolled your eyes. "She runs away."
"That's even more suspicious." Hajime mumbled.
"I cannot believe that she is the one who prepared this grand facility." Sonia remarked, daydreamingly looking around in the great room once again while spinning a lock of her hair around her finger. (Am I the only one who is reminded of Luna Lovegood by her?)
"Yeah, she's probably lying." Hajime nodded in agreement.
"According to this island's guidebook, many of their guests are wealthy and stay for weeks at a time... These are all probably things that they donated."
"... H-Hold on." the ahoge-boy looked at the princess. "Did you just say this island's guidebook?"
You picked up your head after hearing those words too.
"I found it in this library. Would you like to take a look?" she handed it to Hajime with a smile. He took it and looked through it, but soon put a confused expression on his face.
"... W-What language is this? I have no clue..."
You took the guidebook from his hands and looked at the lines, only to tilt your head in confusion too. "I don't know either."
"Then I shall read it on your behalf." Sonia said, holding out her hand for the guidebook.
"You can read it?" you blinked at her.
"Mmhm, I am fluent in thirty different languages. (I'm curious if she can speak in my language too.) It is a requirement for members of the royal family." she nodded, making you sweatdrop.
'Thirty? That's... impressive.'
She took the guidebook and cleared her throat before starting to read out loud.
"Jabberwock Island is a small island in the Pacific Ocean known for being a paradise of eternal summer... That is what it says." she hummed. "This is... exactly what Byakuya told us before."
She cleared her throat again - ahem ahem (Umbridge complex) - and continued reading.
"Jabberwock Island consists of a small central island surrounded by five other islands. The outer islands were developed as resorts, while the central island houses a large administrative building."
"... Huh?" you muttered out once you heard her words. "Say that last part again...!"
"Hm?... 'While the central island houses a large administrative building'... Wait, that... is not right..."
"The central island hasn't got any buildings. All it has... is that goddamned Monokuma Rock and Jabberwock Park!" you said while waving your hands.
(New 'raise your hands' part; who can't stop their freaking hands when talking?)
"A-Also, according to this guidebook..." Sonia stuttered while she ran her pointer finger through a line of the book, "it says that there is a bronze statue in the lobby of that building which symbolizes the island..."
"Huh?" Hajime widened his eyes. "Isn't that...!?"
"The bronze statue that turned into those Monobeasts or whatever..." you muttered out.
"But... that statue was in the middle of the park, not in the lobby of some building." he ran his hand through his hair, watching out for the dangerous ahoge.
"T-That is not all..." the princess mumbled again, her eyes locked to the pages of the guidebook. "There is another description that strikes me as strange. According to this guidebook, the only way to travel between the five islands is by boat..."
"Huh?" you and Hajime breathed out again. Sonia once again quoted the words.
"While some people wanted bridges, critics worried about their effect on the environment, so none were built..."
"W-What does that mean...?" he muttered out.
"Then what the hell are we using to move between the islands??" you asked a little too loudly for a library.
Sonia looked in the distance, apparently deep in thought. After a few seconds, she talked silently and hesitantly.
"There is... a possibility that this place is an artificial island like Palm Jumeirah..."
"Palm Jumeirah...? Artificial island...?" Hajime repeated. ((╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
"Palm Jumeirah is a huge artificial island and tourist site located in the Persian Gulf." she explained. "Similarly... this island might be an artificial island designed to look like Jabberwock Island... T-That especially might be why... we are the only ones on this island..."
There was tense and awkward silence for a few seconds, making the princess speak again.
"... Well, something like that would be impossible anyway. No island of this size could be completely artificial." she smiled awkwardly. "This guidebook must be old, too. It contradicts everything about the island's current situation..."
Monokuma popped out from nowhere right beside you once again with a hip shaking dance.
"WAH!" you jumped. "JUST STOP FUCKING APPEARING BESIDE ME- And what the hell are you even doing!?"
"My, my." he stopped and looked at Sonia. "You're very intuitive to assume this is an artificial island!"
"Don't ignore me!!"
"However, those guys are the only ones who could do something on such a massive scale!" he continued, completely ignoring you.
"Those guys...?" Hajime repeated. ((╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
"The hint is... you know, the enormous organization you guys were talking about before." he grinned. "Hmmmm... it's true that those guys totally deserve to be called a horrible group of people."
"Who are you even talking about?" you narrowed your eyes at him.
"Oops... that was a slip of the tounge... I should excuse myself before it leaks onto the internet..." he sulked, then disappeared just like that.
"H-Hey! Hold on a second!" Hajime snapped after him, but he was already gone.
"Could it be... this island is completely artificial...? There is no way that is true..." Sonia muttered with a worried expression.
"T-There's no way..." Hajime shook his head.
"That guidebook must be old..." you murmured.
"You... are right..."
"... Ah. Hajime, [F/N]."
You both turned your head in the voice's direction. Chiaki was standing there, sleepily rubbing her eyes.
"Oh, it's you Chiaki..." the ahoge-boy muttered.
"What happened?" you asked her. She, as usual, was silent for a few seconds.
"Um... I'm letting everyone else know too, but can you two come to the ancient ruins on this island right away?" she tilted her head while messing with her sweater's hoodie. "You can, right? Right away, okay. Hurry up."
Not even letting you answer, she turned around and walked out of the building with quiet footsteps.
You and Hajime looked at each other.
"... Um..."
"Then I guess we should go the ancient ruins."
"Yeah."

~■♡■~

You arrived at the ruins with Hajime, finding everyone else at the place too. Now that you were looking at it closer, it was quite familiar, but you couldn't really figure out from where. The whole place was covered in deep dust and plants, even trees. It must've been standing here for long... or not, you added, remembering how Monomi literally turned a chicken into a cow.
"What the heck is this...? Such a gigantic building." Catmaru said in a loud voice which wasn't a surprise.
"However, it is clearly faded... It looks like an ancient ruin." Sonia mumbled, looking at it's state.
"It seems... Perhaps this is an actual ancient ruin?" Peko crossed her arms.
"H-How should I say this... Don't you think this building... resembles a school?" Mahiru asked hesitantly, and you slightly widened your eyes, remembering why the ruin was so familiar.

Hope's Peak Academy.

You shook your head, deciding that it must be only similar-looking to the ultimate school.
"... You found something, right Chiaki? What did you find?" Kazuichi turned to the gamer.
"I'll fucking cut you if this is a waste of time."
Once again, you widened your eyes, looking at the person who just said that. Fuyuhiko was surprisingly present too.
You clentched your fists and turned your head away, cursing him in your mind. You felt a sharp gaze on your back, but you stubbornly ignored it.
"I... didn't know you were also here." Mahiru scowled, annoyed, but not even close to the level of annoyed as you.
"That bitch over there kept bugging me... so I finally came." you heard him murmur. You guessed that by the 'bitch' he meant Chiaki.
"Did you maybe find a way to get off this island?" Ibuki cheered with sparkling eyes.
"Nope. Nothing like that." Chiaki shook her head, making the musician pout.
"Aww, then who cares? I should have played in the bath with Mahiru more." Hiyoko huffed.
"Then... what in the world did you find?" Gundham looked at the pinkette sharply. She didn't answer.
"Um... Hello? So what did you find?" you raised an eyebrow.
"If it's not a way off this island... Does it have something to do with this island's secret?" Hajime asked her. She put a pointer finger to her chin and hummed in thought.
"Hmm, about that... I don't know."
"What do you mean... you don't know?" Peko sweatdropped.
"... It's like it doesn't belong with a building like this... I keep thinking about it and it feels unnatural." she muttered. "It's like... a comic book originally about baseball becoming a side-scrolling action game... It's unnatural like that."
"... That's a little hard to understand." Hajime sweatdropped.
"Look, that door over there." she pointed at the ruin's door. You walked closer to it and narrowed your eyes to see it more clearly. "This is what you mean, right?"
"Yeah, it looks like that's the door to the ruin." she nodded.
"So what's wrong with this door? Can you go inside?" Mahiru asked, walking closer to it too.
"Before we attempt to go inside... Let's try brushing off some of this dust and clearing some of these root things off the door." Chiaki said. "If you do... I'm pretty sure you'll understand what I mean by 'unnatural'."
"I don't really understand... but I guess we should try what she says." Kazuichi mumbled, and Hajime agreed.
And so, all of the students started cleaning the door with their pure hands... and what was under those layers of dust (almost wrote lust cough) was quite surprising.
A mechalic-like door was there, full of blue lights. The metal door looked nothing like a ruin's door, with the password entry and the huge gun next to it.
"What is this... door...? It doesn't feel like it belongs in an ancient ruin..." Hajime muttered, raising an eyebrow at the high tech door.
"It's like... a door from a sci-fi movie, don't you think? It definitely doesn't fit with an ancient ruin..." Mahiru sweatdropped.
"And... what is this symbol on the door?" the ahoge boy pointed at the symbol on it which looked like kanji.
"Hmm... it looks like it's japanese..." Catmaru murmured in a deep voice.
"Ah, you're totally right!" Ibuki gasped.
"U-Um... I'm sorry if it's just my misunderstanding..." Mikan said in an almost whisper "To me, it looks like... it says 'mirai'.... or 'future'..."
"Hey, who cares about a symbol on the door!?" Fuyuhiko suddenly snapped. "More importantly... how do you open it? What's inside?"
"It looks like there's a liquid crystal display next to the door... Could the two be related?" the photographer tilted her head, pointing at the display.
"Oh, right! That must be the key to open the door!" the yakuza gasped. "It's probably set to open when you type the password!"
'Oh look, he actually said something that's not cursing and makes sense. I guess miracles do happen! Anyway... What could the password be?'
~You probably shouldn't think about that.~
'Why?'
~..No clue... My gut tells me. Listen to your inner voice!~
'Ugh...'
"Acting all high and mighty... So what's next?" Hiyoko giggled. "It's obviously impossible to put in the password without any hints. Ah, are you saying a normal person can't open it but a yakuza can? That's hilarious!"
"S-Shut up... If we just type whatever... we might get it right..." he murmured, looking away.
"Ah, I think we should wait. Doesn't that seem dangerous?" Chiaki asked, tilting her head slightly.
"Hm? What do you mean 'dangerous'?" the yakuza looked at her confused.
"Cuz... that thing next to the panel, doesn't it look like a gun?" she pointed at the huge gun beside the door. "... In fact, that's totally a gun."
"G-Gun..." Hajime muttered in fear.
You took a closer look at it. Once you've fully observed it, you turned back to your classmates. "I wouldn't mess with that thing if I were you."
"S-So that's a real gun!?" the brunette widened his hazel orbs.
"If it is... it's probably very dangerous." the gamer mumbled bluntly. "It's possible you might get shot if you mess up the password... Right?"
"Dammit...!" Fuyuhiko cursed, kicking the dust in anger. "I-It can't be helped... Looks like... it's better if we don't mess with it... for now..."
A small smirk found it's way to your face.
'Am I dreaming or is he afraid of it? Being a yakuza...'
"Kehehe... He's totally freaked out..." Hiyoko giggled.
"Shut the hell up! You do it then!" he snapped at her.
"But still... a building that looks like an ancient ruin, with a door that looks like it's from a sci-fi film..." Chiaki hummed, her pastel pink orbs looking in the distance in thought. "It's definitely unnatural. This is probably an important place."
"Important place, huh..." Kazuichi sighed, crossing his arms. "The problem is, how is it important?"
"Um..." Monomi suddenly popped out of nowhere, looking at her feet in silence. Monokuma did the exact same thing a few seconds later. You somewhere inside were grateful for them that they appeared far from you this time.
"... You're both quiet?" Peko narrowed her ruby red eyes at them.
You guys know about this buildin' too, right!? Just be honest with us!" Akane growled, cracking her knuckles.
"No... I have no... I have no idea at all..." the rabbit muttered, looking away and sweating.
"I... don't know either..." the bear mumbled too, turning his back on the students so they don't see his face.
'I smell lying.'
"For now... everyone should focus on gathering the Hope Fragments..." Monomi said silently, shyly playing with her paws.
"Hey, there's no way you guys don't know!" the shark-boy yelled at them angrily. "Don't just show up and tell some lousy lies!"
"You guys are probably the ones who covered that door with dust, right?" Hiyoko pursed her lips, pointing at the ruin's high tech door.
"Ah, just as I thought, you guys were hiding it on purpose, right...?" Mikan added nervously.
"Hey, don't talk like we're equeals, you trashy bitch!" the blonde scowled at her.
"Eeek! I-I'm sorry!" she squeaked, hiding her face in her hands.
"Say you're sorry, bitch!"
"I-I just said it! I just said... I'm sorry!"
"Is it possible that... there is a connection between this door and the reason this island is uninhabited?" Catmaru asked, rubbing his goat-like beard. (Goatmaru) "For example, this place might be a shelter, and there might be natives inside."
"Is something happening that would make them hide in a shelter?" Mahiru sweatdropped. "If so... we're all screwed."
"Hmmm, several possibilities cross my mind." Monokuma grinned. "But it looks like there's no way to confirm it yet. That door is really sturdy. But... not in a material sense. More essential than that."
"... Huh? What're ya sayin'?" Akane raised an eyebrow at him.
"For instance... even though Monomi and I can come and go as we please, we can't enter what's beyond that door." he explained.
"Huh? You can't go inside, too?" mentioned rabbit gasped. "Does that mean you're the same as me and--"
Monokuma lifted up his paw, which started to glow in a blue light.
"Heeeey! Keep your tounge in your mouth!"
He hit Monomi with it, which made her once again fly away with an "UGYAAAAH".
"My body can't handle a supersonic meteor rush like that!" she cried.
"There... now that I've shut up my sister with a fantastic Pegasus Meteor Fist..." he smirked, clearing his throat. "This is the mystery of Jabberwock Island. A mystery that even Monomi and I can't solve. That's why I have high expectations for you guys! One day, you'll be able to solve that mystery!"
"Heh, that seems easy enough..." Fuyuhiko smirked, crossing his arms. "All we gotta do is remember what that black and white tanuki said before."

Flashback

"Hey, why are there seventeen of you? If a total of sixteen students from Hope's Peak Academy were arranged to come to this island... That's right! There's probably a traitor I don't even know about hiding among the group!... Just kidding."

Flashback ends

"There's a traitor among us... That's what that ugly tanuki said before." Hiyoko said with a small grin.
"Aaaahhhhahahaha! Calling me ugly and a tanuki... Those kinds of silly names don't depress me in the slightest!" Monokuma laughed, but sulked at the same time.
"He's totally depressed!" Ibuki gasped, pointing at him.
"If there's a 'traitor', they probably know how to open the door, right?" the yakuza asked, pointing with his thumb towards the door behind his back. "And there's probably boats or a way to contact the outside world beyond that door."
"Or... maybe whoever's controlling Monokuma and Monomi is hiding there!" Mahiru widened her gray eyes slightly in realization.
'... Those ideas are not even stupid.'
"B-But... do you really think there's a traitor among us?" Mikan whimpered, looking at her feet.
"Of course there is! Who the hell is it!? Hurry up and confess!" Fuyuhiko snapped, looking at all of his classmates.
"T-There isn't... There's no traitor... anywhere!" Monomi stuttered, looking away.
"Monokuma... what about you? You're the one who mentioned it..." he turned to the bear.
"Puhuhuhuhuhu..." he laughed.
"... What's so funny?" Gundham glared at him.
"Oh, just... Have you guys heard of an organization called World Ender?" he grinned. Hajime repeated the highlighted words like always. ((╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻)
"I-I'm the one asking you a question! Don't just change the subject!" he growled, narrowing his golden eyes at the bear.
"I understand why you'd want to just ignore it... World Ender is such an embarassing name." Monokuma chuckled. "So embarassing that only middle school students... no, wait, elementary school students would come up with it. But the name is unavoidable because that organization actually exits!"
"So what is this... organization?" Peko asked him, furrowing her eyebrows.
"It's literally what it says..." he smirked. "Those guys ended the world!"
"E-Ended the world!?" Mikan squeaked out in horror.
"... That's not an overstatement or a metaphor, you know. Those guys really did end the world. So don't you think it's appropriate to call them World Ender?"
"You mean... they're a terrorist organization...?" the swordswoman mumbled.
"Terrorist, huh... That might be accurate." he nodded. "But only losers are terrorists. If they manage to win, they become 'heroes'. In that sense... they're more like heroes. They're the heroes who ended the world!"
"S-So what? Don't say things that don't make sense!" Mahiru glared at him. "Don't tell me you're gonna say this organization is the one putting us through all this crap...?"
"World Ender... Are you saying that you and Monomi... are also members of that organization?" Catmaru asked, gritting his teeth.
"Who knows? The only thing I can tell you is... The organization that the traitor is working for, the ones who brought you to this island... World Ender is behind it all."
"W-Why are we being targeted by a h-horrifying organization like that!?" Kazuichi screamed.
"Don't panic... It's just another made up story to trick us, like when he said we lost our school memories." Peko sweatdropped. "I can't suspend my disbelief for something as ridiculous as 'World Ender'... There's no way that organization... or the traitor exits!"
"Monokuma... I shall listen to you spout nonsense all you want, while I puff cigar smoke at your lifeless body." Gundham smirked.
"My, my... I was kind enough to keep you guys informed. Are you calling me a liar!?" the bear sulked. "Gnnngh... If you keep acting like that, I'll do 'this' and 'that' to your various body parts...! Anyway, I'm telling the truth! The World Ender organization is the final boss of this island! Plus, one of their members is hiding among you guys! That's why... you guys gotta find that traitor and kill them dead!"
"H-Hey! You better stop..." Monomi squeaked out.
"Shut up, Monomi! Big brother-defying trash like you needs to be punished!" he growled, then grabbed her ears and started dragging her.
"Nooo! Don't pull my ears! They're gonna come... come off!" she cried.
And with that, they were gone.
...
'World Ender...?'
~I wouldn't believe him if I were you.~
'Aren't you like... a part of me?'
~...~
'Nevermind... I'd like to not believe it. But... I have this weird feeling that says it's true... The name is still somewhat sounds ridiculous to me... Ugh, I'm confused!'
~... Rip.~
'Aren't you in my head to give advices to me!?'
~Ummm... Like I said, don't believe it.~
'Ugh...'
"... W-What was that... just now....?" Hajime muttered silently, looking at his classmates for an answer.
"Is there... anybody who understood what he was talking about...?" Kazuichi asked nervously.
"Not a clue..." Sonia shook her head.
"Dunno either." you slowly shrugged.
Chiaki let out a huge yawn, getting the students' attention. She blinked sleepily. "For now... since the sun is setting, we should just go home for the day. I think... it's a waste of time for us to keep thinking about this."
"Y-You're probably right..." the ahoge-boy nodded.
"But it's getting dark soon, so going home might be a better idea." Mahiru mumbled. "... Let's just call it a day."

~■♡■~

You stared at the starry sky once again. You had no idea what was going on anymore. Ancient ruins, high tech doors, traitors, World Ender? You felt like your head could explode.
Your eyelids were desperate to close, so you gave up on your stubborn idea to avoid the cottage and made your way towards it. You listened to the quiet sound of your dreary footsteps, which broke the more or less silence of the air. That feeling still didn't leave you. The feeling that told you that, in fact, World Ender is more real than anything else in this world.
You reached the cottage, and opened it's door without a sound, grateful that Fuyuhiko wasn't stubborn like you and didn't lock you out. You looked around the dark room - the yakuza was already in bed, although you could see his tired, golden eyes stare into space, then slowly gaze up at you. He opened his mouth to say something, but you turned your back on him before he could do so and closed the bathroom's door behind yourself, breathing out a few curses.
Turning on the light, you once again stared at your reflection. If possible, the dark circles got worse, and your eyes were just barely visible gaps between your eyelids. You groaned and rubbed your eyes, and quickly prepared yourself for bed before you drift off to sleep standing there in front of the mirror.
You unlocked the door and stared into the darkness once again. You could hear Fuyuhiko's steady breath, and you noted that he was most likely asleep. You laid down on the ground groaning in pain. You were more and more uncomfortable with your sleeping place, but before you could complain to yourself, you were asleep.

...

Fuyuhiko opened one of his eyes, staring down at you. Asleep. Good.
He opened his other eye too and glared at you.
He felt his chest tightening with guilt. He really got his don't trust anyone role too far. He couldn't help but groan remembering the scene when that idiot with the antenna sticking out of his head was comforting you after he, Fuyuhiko made you cry.
He shook his head and turned from his side to his back, saying mentally to himself that he's an idiot for thinking about that. You were the one who got your nose into his business. Yeah, it's not his fault.
He turned on his other side, now his back facing you, and closed his eyes. He won't apologize. That would rip his honor to pieces. He don't even care about you or anyone else.
He slowly drifted off to sleep, but something told him that wasn't really the case.
