'Eeeeeeehhhh....?'

"Eeek! Peko killed poor Byakuya!?" Ibuki gasped from your right as she lifted both of her hands to her face in horror. "Was this island not big enough for two glasses-wearers!?"
"... I am not the killer." Peko stated simply.
"Oh, I guess she's not!" Akane shrugged happily, and you groaned and facepalmed in annoyence, asking from yourself just how stupid this group can get.
"... How can you believe her so easily!?" Kazuichi growled at her.
"But..." Mikan started with a trembling voice, "With Peko's height, I don't think she'd be able to reach the circuit breaker in the office..."
"I-I don't care about a technicality like that!!" he stuttered, as he crossed his arms stubbornly. "Peko's the one who tripped the breaker and caused the blackout!"
He then sent a sharp glare at the swordswoman, then inhaled a breath and started.

"Since Peko was in the office... She could've caused the blackout at any time!" he said, while slamming his hands on his podium, glaring at the silverette on his right.
"That's impossible..." she sweatdropped, as she pressed her lips together.
"Huh? Why is it impossible?" Hiyoko asked, narrowing her eyes at her.
"Because I was not in the office..." she muttered, as she suddenly found interest in the ground. "Not even before the blackout..."

Hajime's eyes widened, and you could practically see a bulb appearing above his head and coming to life, just to disappear into thin air a moment later.
"I think Peko's telling the truth." he suddenly spoke up.
"Hmm-Hmmmmm, don't tell me you're crushin' on Peko?" the mechanic crossed his arms as he sent a glare at the brunette.
"I think you should actually shut your mouth about that, with you looking at Sonia with a-" you cutted yourself off, just to see Kazuichi drooling at someone once again, sighing dreamily. "-yep, that's the face right there."
Mahiru suddenly smirked. "But he's not even looking at Sonia, he's looking at--"
She couldn't finish her sentence, because the pinkette, seated right beside her, punched her lightly on the shoulder, shutting her up.
Hajime sighed, and rolled his eyes. "Anyway," he said loudly to get back the attention. "Nekomaru's account is actually Peko's alibi."
'Nekomaru's account? Ugh, I should've done more investigating!'
~Uhm, Author-chan sent you a message. She told you to shut the hell up, because she didn't have nor the time nor the inspiration to write down the whole investigation.~
'Who the hell is 'Author-chan'!?'
~ON TO THE STORY LINE!~
'.... Very well then... But what the hell's Nekomaru's account?'
~I'll make you a flashback to understand, because, *glares*, our lovely Sakura skipped this conversation.~
(Author: Didn't you break the fourth wall enough times!? You'll make her confused!)
~You'll erase her memory about this, like, a moment later anyway, as well as mine.~
(Author: You're right about that. Now give her that freaking flashback so I can use this. *grins and holds up memory eraser gun* *puts the gun away and pulls out an eraser and her notebook*)

《Flashback》

"I-I've been trying to use it many times... But the door just won't open at all!" Nekomaru sweated hardly as he clentched his fists.

《Flashback ends》

(Author: That's your famous flashback?)
~Shut up and erase.~
(Author: *shrugs* *erases something from her notebook* *turns in a direction and talks like she's talking to a camera* Sorry I'm just super bored. And when I'm bored, I make this masterpieces inside my head, and sometimes, as you can see, write it down. Anyways, now that their memories are erased, back to the storyline!)

"It's true, someone was occupying the bathroom for a long time shortly after the party started." Nekomaru agreed, rubbing his chin. "And it was finally freed up... after Byakuya's body was discovered."
'............. Oh.... I see. Ew.'
"Ah!" Mahiru gasped, "Then the person who was in the bathroom that whole time was actually...!?"
"Everyone else besides Peko was in the dining hall after the party started, right?" the ahoge-boy (yup, that's his talent. Ultimate Ahoge-boy) nodded.
'What about Nanami and Kuzuryuu though?... Meh, might as well stay quiet.'
"I see... So there's no way anybody else could've locked themselves in the bathroom except Peko." Hiyoko tilted her head in wonder.
"I-I guess that would be... True..."
You looked over at Peko. She was still looking at the ground, lowering her head, so that the students couldn't see her red cheeks and flustered face.
'Poor girl.'
"Y-You locked yourself in the commode!? You should've said so earlier!" the mechanic on her left groaned while he bent down to see her face - making her facepalm in embarassment. (Btw, these actions aren't written in the original storyline, I just try to make it more... Alive? Idk.)
"There's no way she'd actually say that!" the red headed photographer punched him in the neck, making him yelp and straighten up. "Gosh..." she sighed loudly, and put her hands on her hips while leaning in his face. "You are so insensitive!"
'... Koizumi, do NOT become a wife.'
"If she locked herself in the bathroom for that long, there's no doubt..." Nekomaru looked at the distance, narrowed his eyes, and dramatically said "It's shit."
"... Seriou-"
He cut you off with a ridiculously loud and booming laugh.
"GAAAH-HAHAHA! Aw, there's no way she'd admit it! There's no way she'd admit she was taking a shit!"
CLAP!
Two hands slammed aganist two foreheads.
"Oh my god," you facepalmed, "I was raised in an abandoned and most likely haunted weapon store with criminals and assassins who stink, but even I know what manners are..."
Kazuichi, opened his mouth to speak, but his breath got caught in his throath, and he looked at you. "Say what?"
"Forget it." you rubbed your eyes quickly, acting like some dirt got in them. "It just slipped out. Continue, I didn't say anything."
They were looking at you for a few more seconds, then decided to do as you told and let it go - everyone's lives was at risk, after all.
Peko cleared her throat. (yas I've finally learned how to spell it)
"How about we stop talking about this... And move on to something else?" she muttered as she bit her lips, still slightly embarassed.
But of course, Dr. Catmaru Shitman had to bark in.
"Don't worry, the smell wasn't that strong! I used the bathroom right after you, so you can trust me!"
"Seriously, Nekomaru," Mahiru narrowed her eyes at him, "Were you raised in a locker room?"
"Nah, I think he was raised in a locker." you crossed your arms as you looked at the huge man.
"Yeah, you're right." she nodded.
"It's fine!!!" Peko groaned in frustration as she leaned on her podium completely, burying her face in her arms. You could feel Fuyuhiko's aura somehow tensing a little, but you decided to ignore it for now.
"But still, you were in the bathroom for a really long time. Did you get food poisoning or something?" Hiyoko giggled.
"As soon as I stepped into the office, I felt this sudden rush of pain in my stomach..." Peko sighed in defeat, as she now noticed that her shoes were extra interesting. "Because of that, I was unable to leave the bathroom... Including when... The blackout occured..."
"Hey, how did it feel to do your business in the dark?" Teruteru suddenly asked her. "Did you get... Excited?"
"Do you will get 'excited' if I cut your head off with a pen?" you hissed at him, starting to lose your patience about his pervert lines. He gulped, and decided to play with his fingers.
"About that... Was your stomach pain really just a coincidence?" Fuyuhiko suddenly spoke up.
"Hey, what's the deal?" Mahiru hissed at him, as she put her hands on her hips once again. "Don't butt into other people's business, especially if you didn't do any investigating."
He gritted his teeth at that last part and wanted to bark back, but eventually decided to stay quiet.
"What, no comebacks?" the photographer smirked.
"Koizumi, stop it." you sent her a glare. "He does have a point."
"Oh yeah? Just what does he mean by 'coincidence'?" Gundham looked at him, asking the question rather from you than him.
"What I mean is..." he started, "Is it possible someone slipped her some laxatives?"
"L-Laxatives...?" Mikan repeated. (Again with the 'let's repeat the marked words'...)
"If so, the killer could've tripped the breaker as soon as that girl left the office, don't you think?" he smirked.
"I see! That mighta happened!" Akane grinned as she nodded.

'But now that I think about it...'

"Did you eat anything weird?" he turned to the silverette.
"I don't remember eating anything weird..." she muttered.
"Now that you mention it..." Sonia hummed quietly as she lifted a hand to her chin, "You brought food to the office, right?"
"Just a little bit from the dining hall..." the swordswoman nodded.
"There might've been some laxatives in it, don't you think?" the blonde smirked.

"No. As much as it makes sense, that's not possible." you spoke, and the yakuza looked at you irritated.
"Would you, just once, not disagree with me?" he narrowed his eyes at you.
"Sorry that I don't want you and everyone else die," you rolled your eyes, "But Pekoyama wasn't the only one who ate that food. Owari ate a lot too."
"If the food had laxatives in it, I'm pretty sure Akane would've had stomach issues as well..." Mahiru hummed, looking at the gymnast.
"I feel totally fine!" she grinned proudly.
"Like I said, th-the dishes are innocent!" Teruteru stuttered, as he eyed the students angrily. "Don't go making weird accusations!"
"... I apologize for causing a scene,"  Peko sighed.
"Fuyuhiko should apologize, not you!" the red-head huffed, as she crossed her arms and looked at the yakuza. "He's the one who made the laxative accusation!"
"You really got something aganist Kuzuryuu..." you raised an eyebrow at her.
"W-Well, don't blame me!" she sweatdropped as she looked at you. "He's the one who is being a jerk with everyone!"
"What the fuck did you say, bitch!?" mentioned guy yelled at her, as he looked like he was about to kill her.
"Cease the bickering!" Sonia ordered.
"Yeah, you should calm down..." you sighed, "We won't get out anything of stupid arguments."
"Said the girl who is always ready to fight everyone," Hiyoko huffed.
"Will you all stop being sarcastic?" you hissed as you sent a death glare to every student. "If you continue this barking whenever I speak up, we'll never find the blackened and die."
They eventually listened and shut up, so you all could concentrate.
"Let's just dismiss Peko's stomachache as a coincidence..." Mikan's trembling, quiet voice broke the silence, "and go back to discussing the blackout..."
"Yeah, yeah... We already know that you tra-"
"What did I just tell you, Saoinji?" your voice was calm, but terrifying, and it caused Hiyoko to shut her mouth, and discuss the blackout instead.

"Who tripped the breaker, and how did they do it?" she asked.
"Did they throw a stone and hit it?" Ibuki suggested.
"Maybe they used a remote control?" Kazuichi said as he pulled his beanie in his eyes in thought.
"They probably messed with the breaker," Mikan mumbled shyly.
"It does not have to be the breaker..." Sonia muttered, "They may have tampered with the power supply and transmitters!"
"Or maybe they caused a power surge?" Mahiru hummed.

"You are not wrong," you said with a small smirk.
"Eh? Really?"
"It's just as she said..." Hajime stated, "The blackout was caused by a power surge. Of course, that's not a coincidence. Someone caused it intentionally."
"Which is why those three irons were arranged to cause the blackout," Nagito suddenly spoke up from your left.
"When you found them right after the blackout, the irons were still on, right?" the brunette asked him.
"So by leaving those irons on in the storage room, they deliberately caused a power surge," the red-head explained, smiling at the fact that she was right.
"Yeah, it seems that's how the killer caused the blackout..."

"Hold on a second! Let me speak too!" Nekomaru roared suddenly.
"Wh-What the heck...?" Hajime jumped.
"You say the irons in the storage room were used to trigger the blackout...? THAT'S INEXCUSABLE!!!"
The team manager and the ahoge-boy started arguing, Nekomaru saying that the killer couldn't get out of the dining hall to turn the irons on because there were suspects. When the huge man said that the irons caused the blackout, you decided to bark in and cut him off.

"You should open your eyes, Nidai," you said while you closed one of your eyes in thought, "The irons were one reason to cause the blackout, yes, but they weren't the direct trigger. That was the air conditioners in the office and the dining hall that turned on."
"A-AIR CONDITIONERRRRS!?"
"If you looked at them closely, both of their timers were set to 11:30 p.m, Togami's time of death," you added.
"I see... When the timers activated the air conditioners, the breaker was tripped and caused a blackout," Nekomaru crossed his arms in thought. "I see! I understand! Indubitably!"
"... Indubitably!?" Sonia gasped.
Hajime nodded at you as a thank you for closing the argument, and you nodded back with a small smirk.
"They probably checked the old building's energy usage in advance, and used the irons to nearly max it out," Nagito nodded. "So once they set the air conditioners' timers, they just had to wait until they started up on their own..."
"If so, even if Peko was in the office, it still would have been possible to cause a blackout. Indubitably!" Sonia smiled, apparently enjoying that she learned a new word.
"'Indubitably'!? Miss Sonia, not you too!" Kazuichi whined.
"Regarding the energy usage..." Chiaki hummed silently, "They probably asked Monokuma about it."
"Dun-Dun-Dunnn!" the bear commented.
"Shut up," you hissed.
"Jeez, what are you!? My mother?" You sent him a deadly glare. "Well now that I think about it, my mouth's cuter when it's closed..."
"I couldn't have pretended the blackout even if I was in the office," Peko sighed sadly. "But even so, I feel regret... If I was in the office, I could've reset the breaker in time... And maybe the murder wouldn't have occured..."
"No, the breaker in the office was built into a high area of the wall that's impossible to reach..." Nagito smiled cheekily. "Resetting the breaker in the darkness would've been impossible, no matter what."
"... Sounds like you don't need to blame yourself," Fuyuhiko murmured.
'Am I the only one who thinks that something's going on between Pekoyama and Kuzuryuu...?'
~Jealous?~
'... No...!'
"Even so, the killer is so sly..." Hiyoko giggled evilly. "I'm starting to worry we may never actually find them."
"It's all right. You don't have to worry," Nagito smiled. "Because... They're just a petty killer, right? They can't defeat symbols of hope like you guys!"
'Oh no... I don't want to see him go crazy...'
"There's no way everybody will lose now. This little incident will just be a stepping stone for you all," he continued. "In the end, hope always wins! That's what I believe!"
"N-Nagito...?" Hajime stuttered, sweating slightly. "Wh-What happened to you...?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" the luckster looked at him with a confused face.
"Well..." he muttered, "you have been saying this whole time that there's no way a killer could be among us."
"Oh, is that so?" Nagito smirked. "Well, let's just put that minor detail aside for now and talk about the incident. For now... We found out how the blackout occured, but the question is who caused it, right? Anybody could've hid and set the timers for the air conditioners... Setting up the irons in the storage room could've been done before Byakuya set foot in the old building... What a shame. Anyone of us is capable of that."
"... What are you implying?" Fuyuhiko gritted his teeth in anger, and it looked like it was really hard for him to hold back all the information he knew.
"He's just saying..." Hiyoko said darkly, "after all this time, we still haven't made any progress!"
"Huh? Even though we have been arguing for so long?" Sonia gasped.
"Unfortunately, it's the truth..." Nagito sighed sadly. "Despite the fact that we discussed this at length, there's not even one clue that leads to the killer..." In a flash of a second, he was smiling cheekily again. "But that might be because... There's no way any of us could be a killer."
"Y-You're changing your story again?" Hajime sweatdropped.
"Anyway..." he was serious once again. "I have an idea about what we all should do at this point... Has anyone thought about our situation like this? Instead of surviving by doubting others, isn't it better to get killed for believing in others?"
You looked at him wide-eyed. He was completely insane... He wanted you to give up and get executed.
"D-Doesn't that mean...?" Ibuki turned to the marshmallow boy with a pale face. "Are you saying we should all just give up and die!?"
"Nagito!" Hajime yelled at him as he slammed his hands on his podium. "There's definitely something wrong with you!"
"Haha..." he laughed darkly. "You guys only think there's something wrong with me because there's something wrong with you. Suspecting each other like this... There's no way that's a healthy behavior... Let's stop this already! We don't have to find out who the killer is!"
"Shut up, you jerk!" you yelled as you leaned in his face and looked into his eyes with a sharp glare. His greenish grey eyes were full of... Insanity. "Listen up, you're saying I should just give up and die, right!? Like hell I will do that!"
"Hm? Why wouldn't you?"
"You little piece of crap... Togami's dead, and someone in this very room killed him! No matter what you say, I won't give up!" you hissed at him as you took a step closer to him, making him step backwards, almost bumping into Mikan. "We didn't investigate for hours to just give up now! I'll revenge his death! And I don't give a shit about your opinion!"
"...Wow," he breathed as he slightly leaned closer. "Your eyes are full of the most prettiest hope I've ever seen... It's..." he leaned closer again, and his face was now just inches away from yours. "Beautiful..."
(Because a class trial can't stop me from giving you guys marshmallow moments!!! 😆😆😆)
"Wh-What the heck are you-"
Someone loudly cleared their throat, and Nagito quickly leaned back and looked at Hajime, who looked like he was about to kill him.
"We should calm down," he hissed as he glared deadly at the luckster.
"But, Hajime," Nagito smiled, acting like nothing ever happened. "We're all friends, aren't we? There's no way one friend would murder another..."
"Then why did Byakuya die!?" Hajime screamed at him, looking seriously angry.
"Who cares...? Let's just give up already... There are no clues that lead to the killer anyway... Not a single one..."
"That's wrong!"
Everyone looked at the sound's direction, just to see a confident Chiaki... Then that disappeared a moment later, and she lifted her pointer finger to her chin, adding "I think."
"..." Nagito looked at the gamer with a smug face. "Did you say something?"
"Cuz... We've already found a clue that might point to who the killer is," she said.
"A clue, you say?" Gundham raised his eyebrow at her.
"No, Tanaka, a puppy..." you rolled your eyes.
"Aa-ha! You are talking about the four-legged warriors, aren't you!? Does that mean I have won that war with that foolish mortal!? Of course, I am not surprised! Fuhahahaha!" (Who remembers? 😁)
"... Back to the topic..." you muttered slowly, giving him an odd look.
"Yeah, you know who the killer is?" Akane looked at Chiaki.
"The killer? I dunno..." she hummed. "But we do have a clue about a suspicious person... I think."
"I see... Then care to tell me?" the luckster smiled at her. "What's this clue you're talking about?"
"First of all, let's try thinking about how the killer was able to obtain the knife during the blackout."
"Didn't we already covered that?" Nagito rolled his eyes. "They used glowing paint as a mark."
"No, not that... I mean, before that." she explained.
"Let's try examining the situation..." Hajime sighed. "Mahiru's diagram might be useful here."
'Koizumi's diagram?'
"The diagram of where everyone was standing before the blackout, right?" the red-head nodded. "Uhm... Here it is..."
She pulled out a paper from somewhere, and showed it to everyone. You were quite taken aback that your name was written right beside Nagito's, at the table.
'When I panicked because of the timer, I surely walked backwards... Ugh, goddamnit!'
You noticed that after Hajime looked at the paper, he widened his eyes and went pale as a ghost.
'He must've noticed Komaeda's name beside the table.'
He looked up from it, and looked at the direction where you were standing.
'He's staring at Nagito, who's right beside me. Finally...'
He opened his mouth to speak, then whispered...

"[F/N]... It was... You...?"
