Sakura: Thank you. So from now on I will mark the voice in your head with ~ marks because on Quotev, it goes back to normal and it doesn't have fonts, so it can be quite confusing. And now come alive Danganronpa, because it's never enough from you, and you're taking us to the other side, and you're the greatest show, and I should seriously stop writing titles from The Greatest Showman.
And now let your million dreams come true!

You were staring at the Monokuma Rock with a raised eyebrow.
'That bear is so full of himself.'
Monokuma appeared a few minutes later, dragging Fuyuhiko with him, who didn't look like he wanted to participate in the trial. Then he told you to get in the elevator through a 'secret entrance' before disappearing to thin air.
A few seconds after that, an earthquake suddenly came out of nowhere, and an escalator came out of one of the rock bear's mouth. A lot of students were quite unsure if it's safe or not (*cough cough* Hajime *cough*), but in the end, they got up on it and stepped in the elevator anyway.
You let out a shaky breath. You didn't realize how serious this really was until now, but now someone is dead and there is no turning back. A trial will rise. And now no one knows what the future will bring. (Lol Sakura stop writing song lyrics) You took a deep breath to calm yourself down, but it didn't help much.
Suddenly, you felt a hand slip in yours and squeez it gently. You turned your head in their way, just to see a quite nervous Hajime. Of course he was nervous - he decided to hold the Ultimate Assassin's hand. Is he stupid!?
He was quite taken aback when you gave him a small smile and squeezed his hand back. His face flushed a little and he looked away.
You then returned your gaze to your shoes and took yet another shaky, deep breath.
"H-Hey... It will be fine." you heard Hajime's gentle voice. "If we hold on to what we believe, we'll be strong. Together." he smiled. (I should seriously stop writing lyrics lol)
"...Mmhhmm." you looked away quickly.
~Lovebirds.~
'Who the fuck asked you!? Save your voice to the class trial so you can give me advice!'
~Alright, alright, geez.~
The elevator suddenly stopped, and Hajime let go of your hand.
The doors slowly opened, and what greeted you was...
The trial ground looked pretty average. It kind of looked like the ones you'd see in Hollywood movies, except for the gigantic tablet kind of thing that was on the wall.
"Okayyy! Welcome!" Monokuma's irritating voice broke the silence, and all heads turned to his small figure. "This is the class trial field! How do you like it? It's a special place that will decide your fates!"
"Tch... What the hell is he thinking...!? Locking us in a shitty-looking place like this...!" Fuyuhiko cursed.
"Are you seriously thinking about that right now? As long as it won't confuse us, it's fine for me." you sighed.
"Shut up!... Bitch..." he muttered, but he seemed a lot more hesitant in insulting you than before.
"Puhuhu... Complain all you like, I'm used to it by now!" Monokuma laughed as he spinned around cheerfully. "C'mon, you're wasting your time and energy. Hurry up and take your seats where your names are written!"
Everyone hesitantly obeyed the bear, and looked for their names. You finally found the seat with the name '[F/N] [L/N]' on it. You turned your head to the seat on the left, reading the name 'Nagito Komaeda'. Then you checked the seat on the right, which had written the name 'Ibuki Mioda' on it.
As everyone took their seats, Monokuma cleared his throath, then explained the rules of the class trial once again.
"S-Such a cruel rule!" Monomi commented. You looked at the rabbit, and sweatdropped when you noticed the fact that she was hanging freely, a rope tied around her body tightly. Poor Monomi.
"Before we begin, I'd like to confirm one thing. Is there really a killer among us?" Nagito asked from your left, lifting a hand up to his chin in thought. Or so it seemed. You clentched your fists in anger and took a deep breath to calm yourself down.
"Most definitely... There's no doubt that the blackened is lurking among you." the bear answered. "Such a sad state of affairs isn't it?" he smirked. "By the way, this class trial is gonna be 100% fair, so there's no need to worry. I'm the type who hates favoritism and prejudice... Well, not as much as I hate Monomi, of course."
"You hate me that much!?" the poor rabbit cried.
"Now let's begin!" Monokuma cheered.
CLASS TRIAL #1. START!
"Y-You're telling us to begin... But what are we supposed to do?" Mikan muttered silently.
"No complainin', let's just settle this with our fists!" Akane grinned.
"Violance's not always the answer." you raised an eyebrow at her.
"And you are the one who is sayin' that?" she placed a hand on her hip.
"True..." you sighed.
"Didn't that Byakuya bastard get killed in the dining hall, huh? Then everyone there is a fuckin' suspect." Fuyuhiko smirked, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, yeah. What you're really trying to say is that you're not the killer, right?" Mahiru sent him a sharp glare.
"No shit... You guys went off on your own and started killing each other. This has nothing to do with me..."
You sent him an 'are you kidding me?' look but he just 'tch'ed and looked away.
"Anyway... Why don't we try talking about the most pressing issue on our minds?" Nagito asked all of you. Teruteru repeated him (of course, it wouldn't be danganronpa if they didn't repeat each other lol) in confusion.
"Where we found the body. It's very strange to find a body underneath a table."
"Then... Let's start with that mystery." Chiaki agreed.
'Where we found the body... Under the table... Alright.'
"Why Byakuya's body in a place like that...?" Nagito hummed.
"His body was underneath the table... At the very back of the dining hall." Gundham stated, crossing his arms.
"After the killer murdered Byakuya, they probably moved the body there!" Kazuichi suddenly suggested, but Hajime cut him off.
"No... I don't think the killer moved the body."
"... Huh? Why?"
"Try to remember what the body looked like when we found it under the table..." Nagito mumbled. "Though there was a lot of blood everywhere, there was no sign the killer actually dragged the body through it."
You flinched slightly as Byakuya's corpse's picture flashed in front of your eyes again.
'Pull yourself together... Concentrate.'
Mahiru smiled at Nagito, saying that she gets his point, and Kazuichi groaned in annoyence because he thought he had a good idea.
"Too bad you're sooooooo stupid and boring and unpopular! Your life is meaningless!" Hiyoko smirked childishly.
"That's enough, Saionji. Concentrate on finding the blackened." you hissed. She crossed her arms and huffed something like 'don't tell me what to do', but she shut up anyways.
"But if the killer didn't move the body, why was it under the table?" Ibuki hummed from your right, leaning on her podium, resting her chin in her palm.
"Byakuya was probably killed... Under the table." Hajime sweatdropped.
"What...? You think he was killed under the table!?" Catmaru (hahaaa! Okay JK, I just had to wrote it once more XD) roared.
"So Byakuya snuck under the table for reasons unknown, and that's when he was killed..." the luckster muttered, crossing his arms. "Then, shortly thereafter, we found his body under the table."
"Th-That does make sense, but... Why did he go under the table?" the team manager sweatdropped.
"Obviously he was hidin' so he could surprise us. That dude was always a big jokester." Akane grinned widely.
"The hell he was! You seriously couldn't tell what kinda person he was!?" Kazuichi yelled at her.
"Hmm... Maybe he panicked during the blackout and dove under the table..." Teruteru hummed, but Nekomaru denied the idea, saying that it's a blackout and not an earthquake.
"The reason why... Is probably connected to what Byakuya was doing during the party, don't you think?" Nagito asked, as he looked at Hajime's direction, probably excepting an answer from him.
"You're saying it has something to do with that knife. Aren't you?"
He looked at you, surprised. Obviously he was excepting the answer from someone else.
Ibuki looked at you too, now standing up straight. "Knife...? Oh! You mean that thing that obviously screams, 'I am the murder weapon!'?"
"Yes. Togami probably noticed that the knife was hidden there, so in order to get it, he moved under the table." you explained, while brushing a piece of hair behind your ear that fell in the front of your eyes.
"As sharp as always, Dark Queen." Gundham smirked. "He was particularly sensitive to the presence of dangerous items, so I cannot deny that possibility. But there is one question."
"Go on."
"How did he notice that there was a knife under the table?"
"If he knew beforehand... He probably would've done something about it before the blackout, right?" Mahiru stated silently.
"Then... Instead of knowing about it beforehand, maybe he saw it right at the moment...?" Chiaki hummed. "Like, for example, he might've seen someone trying to take the knife out from under the table..."
"No, that's not possible." Peko said sharply.
"What...? You seem rather confident about that." Nekomaru raised an eyebrow at her.
"Of course. I have proof to back me up." she crossed her arms.
"Puhuhu! This is almost like a real trial!" Monokuma laughed.
"You shut up. Don't say anything until we said so." you sent him a sharp glare, and surprisingly, he listened.
"I'm sure Byakuya ducked under the table during the blackout." the swordswoman continued.
"That sounds correct." Sonia nodded.
"If that's the case... During the blackout, Mr. Ham Hands must've seen the killer take the knife!" Hiyoko said.
"But it was super pitch black!" Ibuki pouted from your right.
"It was so dark I couldn't see my food!" Akane agreed sadly.
"Byakuya couldn't see in the dark, either..." Peko said, but you quickly cut her off.
"Two words: night-vision goggles."
"Isn't that three words?" Akane asked, but you ignored her. Hajime continued.
"[F/N] is right. Byakuya was probably the only one who was able to see in the dark. If he was using those night-vision goggles we found under the table, he could've seen what was happening."
"So... Are you saying Byakuya was the one who used those night-vision goggles?" Peko asked.
"Yeah, that seems to be the case." he nodded.
"No, that's obviously wrong! It should be the other way around!" Mahiru suddenly shouted at him.
"O-Other way around...?" Hajime sweatdropped. (Hm. Hajime is repeating things. I wonder why is that so familiar?)
"Seriously, the killer used those night-vision goggles, not Byakuya!" she placed her hands on her hips.
The red-head and the brunette started arguing. When Mahiru said that the killer brought the goggles, Hajime (literally) cut her off.
"No, Byakuya was definitely the one who brought those night-vision goggles."
"D-Definitely...? But why!?" she shouted.
"Inside the duralumin case Byakuya had with him during the party, we found a smaller case for storing the night-vision goggles."
"Which means we can assume that the night-vision goggles were kept inside that duralumin case as well..." Ibuki muttered.
You stared at her surprised.
'Did she just... Really...?'
"Wahoo! I said 'assume'! Ibuki never uses such clever language!"
'Yup, she is back to normal.'
"Plus, Byakuya was the only one who could've taken the night-vision goggles out of the case, since he was carrying it around before the blackout in the first place." Hajime added.
"I see... When you put it like that, it makes sense..." Mahiru mumbled, looking at the ground in shame.
"Then, was that knife inside of the case too?" Teruteru asked. "If there were night-vision goggles inside, it wouldn't be weird for a knife to be in there too!"
"It would be weird." you and Chiaki said in unison.
"I am weird, aren't I...? At times like this, I'd rather be fantasizing about... Tonight's 'main dish'..." he muttered, drooling slightly, sending a glare at you.
"Perish the thought. You are gross." you made a disgusted face. "Anyways, the knife wasn't in the duralumin case. There was duct tape left under the table where the body was found."
"...Huh? Duct tape?" the cook repeated.
"They most probably hid the knife by duct taping it to the underside of that table." you nodded.
"Oh... So that's why we found duct tape there." Mikan muttered to herself.
"Though Byakuya was thorough, even he couldn't have noticed a weapon taped to the underside of the table..." Nekomaru sighed.
"... This may be off-topic, but why was Byakuya so paranoid?" Peko suddenly asked. "Not only did he bring a self-defense kit, but he had night-vision goggles inside the case, too..."
"That's true! He went above and beyond being a little cautious...!" the team manager agreed.
"Now that you mention it... That applies to the dangerous items he confiscated as well." Mahiru added. "It's one thing to be a little cautious, but performing a body check is a bit much!"
"He probably knew... Someone was planning to commit a murder..." Nagito muttered.
"Are you saying he predicted the murder!? Could it be...? Was he also in possession of the All-Seeing Eye...?" Gundham shouted with disbelief.
"... I don't think that's the case." you sweatdropped.
"You think so too, right Hajime?" the luckster turned to the brunette, who sweatdropped slightly.
'Why always Hinata? Are they thinking he will solve the whole case alone?'
"Everyone... Can you please take a look at this?" mentioned boy got out a paper from his pocket, and lifted it up with two hands so everyone could see what was written on it.
BE CAREFUL!
The first kill will happen tonight.
Someone will definitely kill someone.
'H-Huh!?'
"Hey... The hell is this...?" Fuyuhiko sweatdropped, looking anywhere but in your eyes.
"Hajime and I found this in Byakuya's cottage." Nagito answered.
"Togami's... Cottage...?" you muttered.
'So he had a murder threat, too...?'
~Your rather was a love letter than a murder threat, ya know.~
'Well I... Can't deny that, but still... Damn it, why didn't I notice!?
"Nobody besides Monokuma would write such a dumb threatening letter like that..." Hiyoko huffed.
"Wasn't me- Oh, am I allowed to talk?" the bear looked at you, but you just rolled your eyes. "I guess that's a no."
"It doesn't matter who wrote it yet... So, Byakuya became paranoid because of that threatening letter?" Peko asked.
"Uhm... About that..." you muttered.
"Hm?"
"I guess... You guys should see this, too..." you sighed and got out the letter from your pocket. You ripped off the 'Love you' part earlier, because you wanted to avoid comments from Teruteru for example.
"...Huh?"
"It's the same handwriting..."
"Is that really a threat? It's rather a... Warning to be careful." Mahiru muttered.
"Yeah. Unlike in Togami's case, this person send this letter to me to tell me to avoid that place with all my might, because they wanted to protect me... I guess." you sighed.
Nagito took the letter from your hand, stared at it, and ran his finger through the place where you ripped that two words off.
"Is something wrong?"
"A-Ah... No, it's nothing."
~You've broken his heart. Poor boy.~
'Poor boy? He's a murderer.'
~Well... Not exactly. He just wanted to kill, but didn't actually kill...~
'Argh... You're not helping.'
"Wait, is that the reason why you were so stressed in the morning? If I recall correctly, you did mention the words 'letter' and 'murder'." Sonia hummed quietly.
《Flashback》
"What... Where... Who... Letter... Murder..." you muttered as looking around.
"Uhh... Are you okay...?" Mahiru raised an eyebrow. You took in a deep breath.
"Who... Sent me... The letter...?" you murmured.
《Flashback ends》
"Yeah." you sighed. "It freaked me out."
"Hmph! I didn't know that she had a heart! Perhaps she just wanted to find out who did it so she could help them with the murder! Or did you have perverted reasons? Hehe!" Hiyoko giggled mischeviously. (Did I wrote that down right?)
"Think what you want..." you muttered - no, almost whispered.
"Hey, don't you dare say such things about her like that! I'm 100% sure that she just wanted to stop the murder!" Kazuichi yelled at her. "Right, Miss [F/N]!?"
'Again with the 'Miss'...'
"Mhhmm." you nodded.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Peko sent you a sharp glare.
"Well, I... Didn't want to worry you. I actually attended the party to stop the murder, but it happened... I'm sure Togami was thinking in a similar way." you sighed as you looked at your shoes.
"So... You and Byakuya tried to do something without telling anyone, even each other?" Sonia looked at you, and you nodded.
"I see... So his strong sense of responsibility as our leader was his undoing..." Peko sweatdropped as she looked at the ground with sad eyes.
"Still, it's quite ironic, don't ya think? I mean, the Ultimate Assassin tryin' to save us from death..." Akane stated.
"Ironic..." you repeated. "I suppose, it can seem weird."
"It is weird." Peko crossed her arms. "You don't have any ulterior motives, do you?"
"I don't." you sighed. "Let's move on."
"Yeah, enough with the noise! Who wrote those letters!?" Akane yelled, looking at everyone's face.
"Well, obviously... The killer..." Mahiru sighed sadly.
After those words, everyone were silent for a few moments.
The killer. It really was unbelievable that someone killed Byakuya in this very room. And it wasn't the bear.
"Hmph, enough already! Show yourself, you coward!!!" Gundham's booming voice broke the silence.
"If they were willing to come forward, they never would've commited a murder in the first place..." Hiyoko stated, crossing her arms, and she had a point.
"Uhm... Pardon me. Can I say something, please?" Sonia asked politely, lifting one of her hands up in the air.
"... What is it, Miss Sonia?" Kazuichi grinned widely at her.
"I regret that I must return to this topic, but... I just realized something concerning the night-vision goggles." she hummed quietly. "If Byakuya was indeed wearing those goggles... How did the killer manage to navigate in the dark?"
"You're right... They wouldn't have been able to see anything without the night-vision goggles." Teruteru said. "But if the murderer had the goggles when they took the knife... Then how did Byakuya see them?"
"Even if the knife bore some sort of mark... It would've been difficult to see it in the darkness." Nekomaru nodded, sighing.
"It wouldn't have been difficult if that mark was glowing paint."
Once again, every head turned to your direction. After seeing everyone paid attention, you continued. "In actuality, if I recall correctly, the knife that we found under the table and the duct tape stuck to the underside of it were both marked with glowing paint."
~I actually thought it was alien boogey at first. Ugh, aliens. Once when I-~
'What the heck are you even talking about.'
~Oh... Riiiight, sorry. Author-chan will get mad at me if I spoil my origin!~
'....Oookaaaay?'
(#let'sbreakthefourthwall)
"Does that mean... The killer painted them in advance?" Mikan asked, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"But painting them with glowing paint... It's as if they knew the blackout was going to happen." Mahiru sweatdropped.
.
.
.
.
You mentally facepalmed at her statement, but decided to let it go this time.
Chiaki agreed with Mahiru silently.
"...Which means whoever set up the blackout is the killer!" Hiyoko smirked.
"That seals it. The killer is whoever was in the office with the circuit breaker..." Kazuichi murmured. "... Which means it was you, Peko Pekoyama!"
