Chapter 4:

*******Brooklyn POV*********

"You'll be coming along with Sandra later, alright?" Louis repeated for the third time, looking over at the blonde lady who rolled her eyes at the boy.

"Lou, you've only told her a thousand times. Don't worry, I won't leave her behind." She teased, which made me laugh.

"I know.. I just don't like the thought of leaving her alone." Louis frowned as Harry threw a reassuring arm around the older boy's shoulder.

"Lou! I'm fifte-" I caught myself last minute, blushing a tiny bit. "Eighteen. I can handle myself. Even in this stupid thing." I looked down bitterly at the wheelchair I was trapped in.

"Boys! Time to go!" Paul yelled from the otherside of the lobby. Liam and Zayn headed out almost immediately. Niall sent a lingering glance in my direction along with a smile, before following along.

"Call or text if you need anything. You have your US phone, so call any of us." Louis rambled.  Harry made a few faces as he lugged the other boy away. I laughed and waved as they left. Once they were gone, I looked up and smiled at Sandra. I felt slightly awkward being alone with someone I didn't necessarily know, but I knew Lou and the others had to go get ready for their concert. It was a small thing, they told me. I knew it was outside, so I was assuming it was going to be a very small, intimate concert in a gazebo or something.

"Well, I thought Louis was never going to leave!" Sandra winked, and I felt a little more comfortable with the thirty year old who seemed full of life. "Do you want to finish getting ready?"

"That would be great. I'm still in pajamas." I laughed as I looked down. She laughed along as she pushed me back into the elevator. It was quiet for the short ride up to our floor. She wheeled me into my room.

"Do you need any help with anything?" She offered.

"I might need some help getting jean shorts over this massive thing." Was my response as I gestured down to the cast that covered my leg.

Thirty minutes later, and a lot of help from Sandra, I was reading to go. I was donning jean shorts, a loose pink tank top, and grey converse. According to Sandra it was absolutely hot out, and the less clothes the better. I braided my long brownish blonde hair onto the side, clipping it with a sparkly pin I had found. I had gone extremely light on the makeup. Just a little bit of coverup and mascara. I had my brother's popping blue eyes, although they occasionally (depending on the light) looked green. People could always tell Louis and I were related by our eyebrows and our eyes.

"Let's get this show on the road, shall we? Or it is road on the show? Either way, chicka, let's hit this town!" Sandra clapped her hands together before wheeling me out of the room and into the elevator. Eventually, we reached the car where I got, rather ungracefully, into the seat. I got introduced to my bodyguard for the day. I widened my eyes slightly. Maybe One Direction was bigger than I originally thought, if I needed my own bodyguard.

"So, it's at a baseball field. The boys will be doing a few songs, and we have front row seats! Right after we can head back to the hotel, or out for a bite to eat!" Sandra said in her usual cheerful tone and I nodded along. We chattered about useless things until I felt the van start to come to a stop. I looked out the window to see tons of screaming girls sporting One Direction shirts. Okay, yeah, they were definitely bigger then I first thought. The driver muttered something to the security guard manning the gate. We continued along until the driver parked. A bunch of people came around to help me get back into the stupid wheelchair. Then Sandra wheeled me to where apparently the boys dressing room was.

"Brooklyn!" Louis' voice rang out as he came running over from where he was talking to someone.

"That would be me." I grinned up at him.

"I missed you." Louis pouted.

"Uh huh, sure. By the way, you left out how massive you guys are. I need my own bodyguard? And I'm pretty sure there were about five hundred girls trying to get back here." I said with a stern glare towards Lou.

"Oh, er, we didn't want to stress you out.." He seemed unsure.

"Yeah, well, no matter what, I'm going to be stressed out. I'd appreciate if you didn't hide anything else from me." I stated with a slight frown. "I want to remember, I really do. But I can't when you hide things from me."

Lou looked uncomfortable for a moment. He wet his lips before talking.  "I promise I won't hide anything more from you.

"Thank you." I smiled at him.

"Alright, let's go! We have some saved seats, better get out there!" Sandra clapped excitedly before wheeling me away. I called out good lucks and goodbyes to the boys as we made our way into the sunshine.

*****Niall POV******

"Come on, mate. Smile." Liam bumped shoulders with me, attempting to cheer me up. I rolled my eyes at him before heading off to the snack table. Liam followed me. "Don't eat too much, we're heading out in a few minutes."

"I know." I stated, grabbing a handful of crisps and shoving them in my mouth.

"How long are you going to mope for? It's annoying and I want to know for how long I have to tune you out for." Harry smirked and I knew he was just trying to cheer me up.

"My question is, how does Ni break up with her? That's only if he does.. But what I mean is.. She won't know their dating so if he told her they were over, she'd really just be confused because she doesn't know..." Louis commented before taking a swig out of one of the water bottles.

"You're right." I managed to laugh, because it was funny. The boys seemed shocked that I laughed, considering I has been in a pretty bad mood since the accident. I mean, could you blame me?

"If she's forgotten the last three years, that means she doesn't know why she's traveling with us." Zayn finally spoke up. My eyes snapped to him, realizing what he said was true.

"She doesn't know.." Louis trailed off, understanding dawning on his face. His blue eyes widened with shock.

"It was hard enough when it happened. Maybe it's a good thing she doesn't remember?" Liam suggested, a slight hope in his voice. Looking at his face though, you knew he was just as freaked about this as we were.

"If she wants to know.. I promised not to keep anymore secrets.." Louis groaned. I saw pain flicker across his facial features.

"How do we explain it to her? If she doesn't remember? I don't want to relive that.. It was over a year ago that it happened.." My eyes welled up with tears. Liam threw an arm around me and pulled me into his chest.

"I didn't even think about this before." Harry grumbled.

"Niall, you're the only one who can really explain it, you know that?" Liam said quietly to me.

"It hit you just as hard as it hit her.." Zayn added.

"I know.. If she asks, if she needs to know.." I trailed off, not even wanting to think about what happened last year.

"Boys, you ready?" Paul asked, sticking his head around the corner and noticing our somber facial expressions. "What happened?"

"We just realized that Brooklyn doesn't remember.." I trailed off, not wanting to mention the horrible event.

"The reason she's with us." Harry filled in.

"You gotta get out there.." Paul stated us before herding us out of the room. I followed along, thoughts swimming around in my head. "Listen, Niall, if you need to talk to anyone you know I'll listen." Paul added in an undertone to me. I nodded as we made our way out towards the stage.

It killed me to know she didn't know what happened, because surely being told and not knowing would just make it worse. It had taken months to get her to open up to us again after it had happened and the last thing I wanted was for her to lock herself up again.
