Chapter 17

Chapter 17:

Two weeks flew past. I spent the time visiting old friends, meeting friends I couldn't remember, and enjoying my time with my sisters. I couldn't help wishing I had decided to come earlier. I hadn't remembered anything, but the familiar environment made me feel more at ease. However, it definitely was weird without Louis. All of my childhood memories included him.

"Are you done packing?" Fizz inquired as she stuck her blondish-brown head into my room.

"Yeah. Thank God we're only there for a week." I sighed as I shoved the very last item of clothing into the already over-stuffed bag. Let's just say I like clothes. Plus we were going to London and most likely, I'd be going out in the city.

Coming home to my closet was like a massive shopping spree, since I couldn't remember owning any of these clothes before. The first few days I was back, Lottie and I tried on every single one of my outfits.

"We're getting in the car, c'mon, you guys!" Daisy yelped as she ran down the hall, not even bothering to look into my room. I grunted as I picked the suitcase up. Oh, yeah, two days ago I got my cast off and I was now fully healed from the accident. Except, I still couldn't remember anything from the last three years.

"I want too!"

"But it's my turn!"

"Stop arguing, I'm riding shotgun."

"That's not even fair, Lottie."

"Life isn't fair, get used to it."

"Quit your arguing, Brook gets the front." My mum stopped the twins, Lottie and Fizzie. They all let out a unison groan before starting to argue who got the furthest backseat. I laughed as I threw my suitcase into the back of the van. I then clambered into the front seat. Immediately, Justin Bieber was blasting through the stereo and I slightly grimaced. Within ten minutes we were at the train station. We easily boarded the train and I grabbed The Hunger Games and opened it. I couldn't wait until I could brag to Josh that I had read all of it.

The second we walked into the flat complex, I fell myself getting smashed into very familiar arms.

"Hey, Lou!" I grinned maniacally, hugging him back. He pulled away with a huge smile before going down the line and hugging the twins, Fizzie and Lottie. I stood off to the side as he said hi to our mum.

"We can head to our flat, Harry's in Cheshire. Juliet comes in about an hour or so." Louis announced as he practically herded us into what I assumed was his flat.

"Juliet?" I questioned, my head tilted slightly to the side. The name ringing a bell.

"My girlfriend. We've talked about her." Louis reminded me. I nodded as he brought us into the entryway. The girls immediately all headed for what I assumed were their favorite spots.

"Is it okay if Ni comes over in a bit?" Lou asked quietly as our mum lectured Phoebe about jumping on couches.

"Um, yeah. Totally. Why wouldn't I be okay with that?" I scrunched my face up as I look at my brother.

"No one really knows what happened and what the reason was, for why you left. The day before you talked to Niall and he wouldn't tell us what happened other than he told you.. You know." Louis shrugged as he sat on one of the very expensive leather couches. I settled next to him.

"It had nothing to do with Niall. I was stressed out and Lou, the last two weeks have been amazing. I loved being with you, but I needed the familiarity. I also needed time to.. Mourn." I tried to explain.

"I get it. If you need to talk, I'm here. Niall said he'd be over for when we go out to dinner." Louis grinned at me.

The loud clatter of glass hitting hardwood flooring echoed around the room. Louis laughed before running off to find out what happened.

"It was Phoebe's fault!"

"Was not, you were the one playing with it!"

"Not even!"

I laughed at the sound of my bickering siblings. Some things never change.

"Ni, stop. No! I'm serious, stop." I tried to say seriously, but instead laughs were filling the back of the taxi.

"But I miss you and I'm going to sing until you get back. By the way, how much stuff did you get?" He asked, amusement laced in his voice.

I looked guiltily at the four shopping bags to my left. "Uh, not much.."

"Lies. I'm your boyfriend, I know all things about you." Niall chuckled and I rolled my eyes.

"Sure. What year did I skip?" I quizzed him.

"Uh, year three?" He answered with hesitance.

"Wrong, year five. You know nothing about me." I teased.

"Whatever."

"I love you." I said with a bright smile.

"Love you too. I miss you. Where are you?"

"About five minutes away I think," I replied with a glance out my window. Buildings were flashing by.

"I can't wait to see you again."

"I know, I can't wa-" My words were cut off with a bloodcurdling scream that left my mouth the second I saw the pick-up truck headed straight for me.

The next ten seconds went by like it was in slow motion. The glass shattered, splaying towards the driver and I. My phone went flying out of my hands. The sound of crunching metal rung out in my ears. I felt like I was getting completely crushed, the pressure hitting my right side as the door crunched into me.

My head banged up against the hard metal.

Horrific pain registered.

Then everything went black.
