Steven became shaky and sweaty. He couldn't believe the only ones who cared about him were on homeworld, getting who knows what happen to them.

"We need to find them!" Connie shouted. It's like she took the words right out of his mouth.

Tears started to fill Steven's eyes, and he collapsed onto the floor in tears. "I-it's all my fault...if only I could've stopped this from happening!"

Everyone just stood there, in shock of what he said.

"A-and now, the gems could die because of me! I don't deserve to be around them, I shouldn't be here, I shouldn't exist!!!"

He clenched his fist and continued to cry until a soft hand touched his shoulder. "Steven, stop, it's not your fault!" Connie said with tears beginning to fill her eyes as well. "Stop saying that stuff about yourself!!"

Lapis just sighed as she ran out of the room.

"Lapis, wait!" Peridot exclaimed, following her outside of the room. "You need to stay and confront Steven!"

Then it was just Steven and Connie. They stared into each others eyes for a while. "Steven...I-I had no idea you felt that way..."

Steven just looked at the ground. "Nobody does..."

Connie was just so surprised that Steven felt that way at all, he just seemed so happy and cheerful. He made so many friends and got along with them well, but how come nobody ever knew this?

Probably because he was so good at hiding it.

Connie just reached her hand out for Steven to grab. At first, he hesitated, but he eventually grabbed her hand.

Suddenly, Peridot and Lapis ran back in. "Good news!" Peridot screamed excitedly. "We're going to homeworld to save the others!"
