A loud, piercing scream filled the air, startling the heroes of Beach City, the Crystal Gems. They quickly ran outside and saw what appeared to be a large, black wolf about four feet tall with a blue stripe running down its back.

In front of it was a small child with long, messy brown hair. They wore a blue dress that appeared to be torn up. Cuts and bruises covered their body.

The gems quickly ran up to the monster while Steven ran up to the child and summoned his bubble around them. "You're going to be okay..." He said, sitting down. "We're here to save you..." He wiped the tears from the child's eyes and gave them a tight hug.

Pearl put her hand up to her gem to pull out her spear, making it glow a faint blue in the process. Pearl then jumped into the air and shot three energy balls made at the creature, making it roar and kick its legs wildly.

Garnet jumped in front of the creature and put her hands in front of her, launching her gauntlets at the creature.

The creature took a step back as Amethyst wrapped her whip around its leg, knocking it down. Garnet jumped on top of it, punching it repeatedly until it poofed.

Breath heavily, she bubbled the gem and sent it to the temple.

Steven dropped his bubble as the child just stared at the gems in shock, as if they could not believe what they saw. "Melissa!" The child quickly turned around. "Mommy!"

The child ran up into her mothers arms, crying tears of joy. "Thank you so much for saving my child!" Garnet just nodded. "You're welcome."

Afterwards, the gems headed up to the temple, but Steven hesitated at first. He thought about how happy that the child looked with her mother.

Steven just shook the thought from his head, and ran into the temple.
