"You!" Yellow Diamond growled as she stomped up to Peridot. "It was you who Agate heard?" Yellow Diamond was angrier than she has ever been before. "And how dare you release our prisoners???"

She then noticed Steven and Connie. "HUMAN?!?" She couldn't believe her eyes. "Ugh! That is enough! You shall be broken for your actions!" Two quartz soldiers grabbed Peridot as fast as they could.

"Peridot!" Steven screamed. He was about to run up to her but Pearl grabbed his arm. "Steven, don't! You can get hurt!" Steven just shook his head. "Well, even if I do, it'll make me happy to know that Peridot is safe!" He jerked his arm out of Pearl's grip and ran up to Peridot.

"Steven, wait!" Pearl followed him, and so did everyone else.

The quartz soldiers pulled out a gem destabilizer and put it high into the air. "WAIT!" Steven shouted, making the quartz soldiers look up. "STOP!"

"Why should we listen to a creature like you?" One of the soldiers asked. "Because, if you want to hurt her, you'll..." Steven paused in the middle of his sentence and saw the others looking at him, as if they were telling him no.

Something inside Steven told him not to, but the other half told him to. It was a life or death situation now, and it was Steven to decide what would happen.

Then he made his choice.

His gem glowed a bright pink as he summoned his shield. "You'll have to get through me, first."
