Date: September 15th, 1944 6:30AM

Location: near Peleliu, Palau islands

Summer and Team RWBY were currently eating their breakfast on board one of the transport ships with the other Marines and the girls stood out like a sore thumb. As they ate they knew that they were going to be invading another island in just a little while. Ruby was thinking about everything that she and her team had been through up to that point. Then Ruby took out her journal and looked through it and it had everything Ruby had written in it from their battles from Guadalcanal to Saipan. 

Ruby then looked around at her team and her mom, thoughts just came rushing through her head as she thought about all the battles she, her team and mother faced. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder and she turned around to see Dan.

"Hey just so you remember, briefing is in 15 minutes." Dan informed her. "Better get ready quick." 

Ruby then released this as Dan walked off in which Ruby closed her Journal and quickly ate her food.

"Guys Briefing is in a little bit, we got to hurry!" Ruby informed the others and they quickly finished up and followed Ruby to the briefing room of the ship. The 5 girls quickly ran to where the briefing of the mission was taking place and they burst into the room with only seconds to spare.

"Ah Team Hunters, I was wondering when you would show up." Major General William H. Rupertus said. "But now that your all here we can get on with the briefing." 

(Incase you are all wondering this is Major General William H. Rupertus.)

One long Briefing later... 

After the Briefing Summer and the Girls were gearing up for the assault on the island of Peleliu where an airfield had to be taken so heavy bombers could hit Japan. Summer was transferred to Ruby's team so she could be with her daughter more. And a new member meant a new team name and the one they chose was Team Hunters.

Then after loading up all their gear they walked into a LVT alongside other US Marines that were going in.

"Alright...dear god, please let me, my mother, and my team get through this and watch over us as we participate in this battle." Ruby quietly prayed to herself. 

"Alright lets do this!" Yang exclaimed. "Just another island to take!"

"Well I hope its the last one we take." Weiss complained. "If the Japanese had any common sense they would see its pointless to continue fighting."

"I don't think the Japanese would agree with that Weiss." Blake said. "From what I hear they don't give up until the last man."

"Whatever Blake." Yang sighed. "Maybe one day they will realize how stupid it is to charge into your enemy's line of fire." 

"Don't jinx us Yang." Ruby said. "It might happen."

Then the doors to the transport ship opened up and the drivers were given the green light to go. Bright sun light blocked most of the vision of the outdoors.

"HERE WE GO BOYS!" A Marine leader yelled as the LVTs moved forward into the water towards the island. Ruby and the others were stumbled back a little bit but not much and kept there footing and stood up straight. Soon their LVT hit the water and they started making their way towards the island.

Ruby of course looked over the side and saw many other landing crafts going towards the island alongside them. She also saw Battleships and cruisers blasting away at the enemy positions causing great damage to the enemy defenders. However she then looked to where the landing areas supposed to be and saw that there was a lot of burning smoke rising into the air. 

(These are Navy guns firing.)

Then a couple of Hellcat fighter bombers flew over them to fire at enemy positions from the air. Ruby was completely amazed at the size of the force they were attacking with and it would stay with her in her mind.

Then as they were just in eyesight of the beach enemy artillery fire soon came down on them barley missing their LVT.  Ruby then ducked back down in the LVT for safety so she wouldn't get hit with shrapnel. Summer in fact grabbed Ruby's uniform to pull her back down to safety so she wouldn't get hurt.

"Stay down Ruby were approaching the landing zone!" Yang warned. "Load up!"

Team RWBY then loaded their weapons as well as summer and the other Marines as they approached the shore. Dan and David fired the mounted machineguns on the LVT to provide suppressing fire at the enemy defenders. Then a mortar round landed near the LVT and splashed some water into the LVT and onto the Marines. Soon the LVT hit the sandy shore and came to a stop to drop off the Marines as they were still under fire.

Ruby was the first to jump out onto the sand followed by Weiss and Summer, Yang and Blake jumped out of the other side and the other Marines soon followed them. Unfortunately though some of the Marines were shot and gunned down by the Japanese defenders. The girls then started crawling there way up the beachhead as their LVT went back for more Marines. 

Ruby and the others soon gathered back up and took cover behind some sea rocks as enemy bullets flew over their heads. Ruby then looked up from cover and spotted a enemy machinegun nest concealed in a natural bunker firing at the Marines that were still storming the beach. Ruby then carefully aimed her Springfield at the enemy nest at the gunner and then pulled the trigger and killed the enemy gunner and then killed the gunners assistant. After that they advanced further up as enemy mortar fire came down at them as they advanced up the island. 

After destroying a few more Machine gun nests and dug in infantry units Team Hunters Moved closer and closer to the enemy airfield. But as they approached one of the enemy's bigger bunkers they were suddenly thrown back into cover by the enemy fire. Ruby then looker over her cover and saw the enemy position and figured out a way to flank them. Ruby then motioned to the rest of her team to follow her through one of the tunnels where it went into the bunker.

As they snuck through the underground tunnel Japanese soldiers spotted them and then fired upon them. Team Hunters then fired back at them with Ruby gunning down enemy's with her Thompson and Weiss with her Grease gun. Blake got up close to the enemy and used her sword to cut down enemy soldiers and use her M1911 to shoot any enemy that came close to her. Yang switched to her M1897 shotgun and shot any enemy that was shooting at her or the team. Summer meanwhile used her M1 Carbine to cover her daughter and the rest of the team to protect them.

Then all of a sudden serval Japanese soldiers came charging at the girls with bayonets fixed on the end of their rifles. Team Hunters opened up with everything they had and killed most of the enemy soldiers. But one of them managed to tackle Blake to the floor and tried stabbing her but she pushed the bayonet to the side and stabbed the soldier in the neck with her knife, then she pushed the dead soldier aside. After clearing up the rest of the enemy's they then continued to push towards the side of the bunker.

When they reached the side of the bunker Yang place a demolition charge on the side and pulled the pin on it. She then ran back to a safe distance and then the charge exploded making a big hole in the wall. They then rushed into the bunker killing any enemy soldier that was still alive from the explosion. The enemy tried to fight back but it was useless to try and stop them as they went up to the machine gun emplacements and killed all the crews. Soon all the machine guns in the bunker went silent as team Hunters cleared it out.

But then enemy reinforcements arrived with a few tanks to try and stop the advance of the American forces. But luckily a radioman was nearby and Ruby used the radio to have navel gun fire target the charging enemy force.

"THUNDER! THIS IS LIGHTING! WE NEED SURPRESSION BRB WHISKEY 9 INFANTRY IN OPEN MIXED WITH ARMOR! OVER!" Ruby yelled into the radio.

"Lighting we copy, Suppression brb whiskey 9 infantry in open mixed with armor, over?" The radio operator asked.

"THAT'S AFFIRMITIVE THUNDER!" Ruby answered. "BRING THE RAIN!"

"Lighting this is thunder message to observer gun Targeting locked, firing line 187." The radio operator said. Then the sound of Navel guns could be heard and the whistling of the shells soon came and team hunters and the other marines got down as the shells struct the enemy forces with great accuracy. After about a few seconds of the ground shaking Team hunters looked up from their cover in the bunker and saw a few very large craters in the ground where the enemy force was and only a few retreated to safety. 

Time skip to a little later....

After all that a beach head was secured and reinforcements would have to come to aid the Marines to advance further onto the island. Team Hunters then sat down as more Marine forces pushed the Japanese back, it was clear they had won the battle.

"Well...Could have been worse." Yang said as the others looked at her.

"Yang....Your not wrong." Ruby agreed. "Could have been worse."

"Ugh...Its still hot." Weiss complained as she drank from her canteen.

"Easy on the water Weiss." Blake reminded. "Don't drink it all at once."

"Well, I guess next thing we have to do is take the airfield tomorrow." Summer said. "And the enemy isn't gonna give it up easily."

"Don't worry Mom!" Ruby reassured. "Well chase them off this island if its the last thing we do!" 

Summer could only smile at her daughter and the 2 shared a hug. Then the group was joined by Dan and David when they walked up to them.

Meanwhile back in Washington D.C. ....

President Roosevelt was just in the office looking through his paper work on the latest news and battles that were going on in the world. Then a secretary then walked into his office with a folder in his hand that had classified on the front.

"Mr. President, our military is reporting about 8 young teenagers and 1 adult female that are fighting alongside our forces." The Secretary said. "4 of them are fighting in Europe in the US 3rd army and the other 5 are fighting alongside the 1st Marine division in the pacific as we speak."

President Roosevelt was confused at this as nobody under the age of 18 was aloud to join the military.

"Do we know who these people are?" President Roosevelt asked. The secretary then handed him the folder and Roosevelt then opened it to reveal the 8 young teenagers and the adult woman that were fighting alongside them. "What's so interesting about these 9?"

"Well from what they told us Mr. President, they are not from this world." The Secretary replied. Roosevelt then looked at the Secretary with a shocked look on his face as he could believe what he had just heard.

"Is this true?" President Roosevelt asked as he looked at the files.

"As far as we know sir, Yes." The Secretary replied.

"When this war is over, I wish to speak with them about it." President Roosevelt ordered. "If their is a way to a new world, we need to have the chance."

"Of course Mr. President." The Secretary. "I'll arrange the meeting for you."

"Thank you, that will be all." President Roosevelt said as the secretary left. President Roosevelt then looked at one file in particular. "Ruby rose, very interesting name."
