Code #1: Defend your Clan even with your life. You may have friendships from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle

 Oakpelt slid through ThunderClan territory, not letting himself make the slightest noise. Speckleshine, his mate from ShadowClan, was awaiting him at the borders.

He carefully placed one paw after another, trying not to make the slightest sound at his fast pace.

"Oakpelt!" he heard a cat breath. Oakpelt followed the sound of the voice.

"Speckleshine! You came!" Oakpelt whispered.

"Of course!" Speckleshine laughed quietly. Oakpelt smiled. Until Speckleshine grew serious.

"Look Oakpelt, ShadowClan is going to attack ThunderClan at Moon-High!"

"What!? When?!"

"I must go. Goodbye Oakpelt." And with that, Speckleshine, the love of Oakpelt's life slid away.

Oakpelt ran through the forest prepared to tell his Clanmates. I fiery pain shot through him. He whipped around and stood face to face with ShadowClan's leader. Swiftstar.

Swiftstar was a cruel cat, willing to do most of anything to win, yet nnothing to break the code. Very strict leader he was.

"You must be the little spy. I can't have you ruin my battle plans, can I?"

Oakpelt growled.

"Speckleshine, take care of him. Make sure he doesn't reach his Clan."

Speckleshine looked as if she would rather jump in a river. But she obeyed his orders. She slunk forward with unsheathed claws.

Out of nowhere, Swiftstar leapt and struck at Oakpelt's legs, who wailed in agnoy and crumpled to his stomach. Swiftstar looked at the rest of his Clanmates, and flicked his tail to signal Speckleshine to continue.

"ShadowClan attack!"

Speckleshine lifted her paw to deal the blow, then faltered. But Swiftstar had eyes like and owl. Whipping around, he tackled Speckleshine and pinned her down.

"Traitor." he whispered. Speckleshine looked lost and terrified.

Oakpelt got to his wobbly paws, "Leave her alone!" He said, trying to maintain his balance.

Swiftstar glared at Oakpelt. Then at Speckleshine.

"You're banished from ShadowClan, Speckleshine, now get out. We are warriors who follow the code."
