Chapter 11: Forgiveness
~🏅~
Ralph rode up the tram, wearing his medal around his neck. He looked up sadly at Niceland Building, strangely there was no lights on. No Nicelanders on the rooftop, no Nicelanders cleaning up.
Everything felt...empty.
~🏅~
"Hello?" Ralph called as opened the doors to the penthouse. Everything was dark and empty.
"Anybody home? Felix? Mary?"
"Well, you actually went and did it."
Ralph turned his head and saw Gene at the bar, pouring a martini into a glass.
"Gene! Where is everybody?" Ralph asked.
"They're gone. After Felix went to find you and (Name), everyone panicked and abandoned ship." Gene answered as he placed an olive in the martini.
"But...but I'm here now!" Ralph tried to smile.
"It's too late, Ralph. Litwak's pulling our plug in the morning." Gene motioned over to the balcony.
Ralph walked over to the balcony, he opened the doors and gasped when he saw an Out-Of Order sign taped to the screen, illuminating an orange light over the game.
"But, never let it be said I'm not a man of my words." Gene stated as he finished his martini and placed the glass down on the bar. "The place is yours, Ralph. Enjoy."
Gene threw the key to the penthouse to Ralph, who caught it in his large fist.
Ralph looked at the key, then looked at Gene, who was heading for the door with his suitcase.
"Gene, wait! Listen, this is not what I wanted!" Ralph told the small man, a pain in his voice.
Gene just shook his head and turned to Ralph. "Well, what did you want, Ralph?"
"I don't know! I just..." Ralph let out a sigh. "I was just tired of living alone in the garbage!"
"Well now you can live alone in the penthouse." Gene said coldly before leaving with his suitcase, leaving Ralph alone in the penthouse.
(Bro, shut up. If you hadn't kept your damn mouth shut and listened to Ralph, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!)
Ralph sighed, he dropped the key on the floor and headed towards the balcony.
He stared at the sign in guilt and sadness, knowing all of this was because of him. He yanked the medal from his neck, he shook his head at it in disgust, then threw it at the screen. It twinkled as it arcs across the distance.
The medal smacked against the game screen. The impact causes one corner of the tape on the Out-of Order sign to release. The sign went crooked.
Through the gap, Ralph saw the Sugar Rush console across the way. A painful reminder of Vanello and (Name).
Ralph took the medal Vanello had gave him off his neck, and stared sadly at the words 'You're my hero.'
But Ralph didn't feel like a hero at all.
He closed his fingers around the cookie and looked up again at the console. He spotted a large picture of a dark-haired, green-eyed boy on the console's side, driving King Candy's car. Ralph furrowed his brow as he realized, it was Vanello.
But Vanello was a glitch, why would he be advertised on the console?
Unless...
~🍬~
Sour Bill loaded the scraps of Vanello's kart into a candy wheelbarrow. A large shadow loomed over him.
"Hey, cough drop! Explain somethin' to me. If Vanello was never meant to exist, then why is his picture on the side of the game console?" Ralph demanded, his hands on his hips.
"Uh..." Sour Bill tried to make a run for it, but Ralph grabbed him.
"What's going on in this candy coated heart of darkness?" Ralph sneered.
"Nothing..." Sour Bill said in his bored voice like it was nothing.
"Talk!"
"No."
"I'll lick you!"
"You wouldn't."
Ralph sticked his tongue out. "Oh yeah?" He gave Sour Bill a quick lick, making him cringe in disgust.
"Ugh! It's like sandpaper!" Sour Bill groused.
"Mmm, wonder how many licks it'll take to get to your center." Ralph smirked as he studied Sour Bill's body. (That's what she said).
"I'll take it to my grave!" Sour Bill whimpered.
"Fair enough." Ralph shrugged before popping the ball into his mouth. Sour Bill screamed as Ralph swished him around in his mouth.
"Ooh-hoo-hoo. They call you Sour Bill for a reason!" Ralph chuckled before spitting Sour-Bill out. "Had enough yet?"
"Okay, okay, I'll talk! I'll talk!" Sour Bill gave in. "Vanello was a racer until King Candy tried to delete his code!"
"Tried to delete his code? So that's why he's a glitch!" Ralph exclaimed.
Sour Bill let out a sob in reply.
"Why is he doing this to him?"
"I don't know!"
"Suit yourself." Ralph began to put Sour Bill back into his mouth, making him panic.
"No, no, no, no, no, no! I swear I don't know!" Sour Bill promised. "He literally locked up our memories, and I cannot remember! Nobody can!"
"But I do know this, he'll do anything to keep him from racing. Because if he crosses that finish line, the game will reset. And he won't be a glitch anymore!"
"Where is he now?" Ralph asked.
"In the Fungeon with Fix-It Felix and (Name)." Sour Bill answered.
"Felix and (Name)?!"
"I'm sorry! That's all I know! I swear! Now please, don't put me back in your filthy mouth again!" Sour Bill whined before sobbing.
Ralph sticked Sour Bill to a lollipop tree, making him stop crying.
"Stick around." Ralph says, pointing a finger at him as he picked up the wheelbarrow and ran away.
"Yes, okay. I will, I will! Thank you." Sour Bill sighed of relief.

Calhoun patrolled the field of red licorice, searching for the Cy-Bug.
"Come on, I know you're out there." She whispered before the signal on her sensor turned off. She hit the tri-quarter, frustrated.
"Ugh, saccharine saturated nightmare." She groaned.
The tri-quarter suddenly went off, loudly. Green dots fill the device's screen.
Calhoun gasped. "But...where?" She scanned around the area, before she fell in the ground below her.
She quickly grabbed onto a licorice vine to keep her from falling in the pit below. But she dropped her sensor, which landed in the nest of Cy-Bug eggs.
The sensor beeped, making a couple of the eggs glow a bright green. A large candy-coated Cy-Bug screeched as it crawled around the eggs to join a cavern with older Cy-Bugs.
Calhoun sneered in disgust at the sight as she gripped onto the vine. "Doomsday and Armageddon just had a baby, and it. Is. UGLY!"

A frustrated Felix looked through the bars of his cell window.
"Hello? Hello? Somebody, anybody? Please let me out!" He shook the bars, one of them went loose, making him gasp.
"What's he say, what's he say?" Felix whispered to himself before making a tough pose.
"I'm gonna wreck it!" He said in a deep voice before hitting the bars with his hammer, only for them to become thicker and stronger.
"Oh, WHY DO I FIX EVERYTHING I TOUCH?" Felix groaned before sitting on his wafer bed.
Just then, Ralph smashed through the walls of the cell.
"Felix!"
"Ralph! I'm so glad to see you!" Felix jumped up and hugged Ralph, making him tense up, not knowing what to do.
"Wait, no. I'm not." Felix let go of Ralph and crossed his arms with a firm look on his face. "What do you have to stay for yourself?"
Ralph opened his mouth to say something. "I-"
"Wait! I don't want to hear it! I'm not talking to you." Felix turned his back to Ralph.
"Okay! Don't talk! That's fine!" Ralph assured before dumping out the can of the broken go-kart. "But you have to fix this go-kart for me, pronto."
"I don't have to do boo. Forgive my potty mouth." Felix interjected, turning back to Ralph.
"I'm just so...so cross with you!" Felix fumed. "Do you have any idea what you've put me through?! I ran higgeldy-piggeldy all over creation looking for you. I ALMOST DROWNED IN CHOCOLATE MILK MIX!" He ranted, Ralph just gave him a confused look.
"And then...I met the most dynamite gal. Oh!" Felix sighed dreamily, taking off his hat and sitting on the wafer bed. He sighed dreamily as he thought about Calhoun.
"She gives me the honey glows somethin' awful. But...she rebuffed my affections. AND THEN, I GOT THROWN INTO JAIL!"
"Felix...pull yourself together!" Ralph tried to calm him down.
"NO, Ralph!" Felix yelled, springing up from bed. "You have no idea what it's like to be rejected and treated like a criminal!" He fumed, turning his back to Ralph once again and crossing his arms.
(Felix, my guy... :/ )
Ralph looked down sadly. "Yes, I do. That's every day of my life."
Felix perked up at this, he turned around to face the large man. "It is?"
"Which is why I ran off! I tried to be a good guy, but I'm not! I'm just a bad guy, and I need your help!" Ralph explained. "There's a teenage boy whose only hope is this kart! Please, Felix, fix it! And I promise, I will never try to be good again."
Felix smiled gently at Ralph, he pulled his hammer out.

Vanello sat in the fungeon fortress. The door was unbreakable, and extra locked.
Picture of sad clowns, lions, and other animals were all around the wall.
Word bubbles were above some of the picture's head.
They said things like, 'Someone's been naughty!' and 'Bad boy!'
Vanello sat in the middle of the room with a 'Glitch-proof' collar and chains around his waist. He rested his hands on his cheeks as he looked down sadly.
"Huh?" Vanello looked up when he heard smashing from behind the door.
Ralph busted the door down and pushed in his fixed kart. Vanello stared at him wide eyed.
"I know, I know. I'm an idiot." Ralph spoke before Vanello could say anything.
"And?" Vanello asked expectingly.
"And a real numbskull."
"And?"
"A selfish diaper baby."
"And?"
"And...a Stinkbrain?"
"The stinkiest brain ever."
Ralph and Vanello shared a smile, letting Ralph know that Vanello forgave him.
Now all that was left was to save (Name).
~🍬~
(Name) sat on her wafer bed, leaning against the wall. She hugged her legs to her chest as she buried her face in her knees.
She had kicked and screamed the whole way to the fungeon when the police had dragged her here.
But now? She didn't fight anymore. There was no point.
Well, this wasn't too different from her life in Game Central Station.
Now she was just confided to one place instead of being able to travel to places where she wasn't wanted.
(Name) looked up when she heard the sound of pounding and slamming from the metal door.
Ralph punched open the door, he looked at (Name) with a guilty look.
"Well?" (Name) stood up and crossed her arms to her chest. "What do you have to say for yourself, Wreck-It Ralph?"
Ralph flinched at the full name, before sighing.
"Look, (Name), I'm really sorry about what happened earlier. I thought I was trying to protect Vanello, and you, but I realize I was only doing the same thing as everyone else in this game did." Ralph apologized.
"I don't expect you to ever forgive me." He looked down sadly, but (Name) surprised him by wrapping her arms around him and hugging him.
Like with Felix, Ralph was surprised at the hug. But this time, he accepted the girl into his arms.
"It's okay. I forgive you." (Name) whispered with a smile.
She then grabbed Ralph by his face and made a stern look. "But if you ever pull something like this again, you will go from 'Wreck-It Ralph,' to 'Wrecked Ralph.' Understood?"
"Got it." Ralph nodded.
"Good." (Name) nodded before letting go of the large man. She stepped out of the cell, only to get hugged by Vanello.
"(Name)! You're okay! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you!" Vanello apologized, sobbing into (Name)'s shoulder.
"Hey, hey, it's alright. It wasn't your fault." (Name) assured softly as she wrapped her arms around Vanello.
When Vanello pulled away, she wiped his tears with her fingers. "What about you, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Vanello smiled.
"All I needed to hear." (Name) smiled before hugging Vanello again.
(Name) then noticed Felix looking at them, standing there awkwardly and not knowing what to make of the situation.
"Wait, Felix?" (Name) asked when she let go of Vanello.
"Heh, hey there, (Name). Good to see you." Felix smiled.
"Good to see you too." (Name) smiled in return. "But, um, what are you doing here?"
"Oh, that's a long story." Felix sighed.
"Okay..." (Name) looked at Vanello, who simply shrugged.
Ralph then noticed that (Name) and Vanello were holding hands. "Oh, when did this happen?" He smirked knowingly.
Vanello and (Name) blushed, before (Name) answered: "While we were getting that necklace for you, actually. But once again, that's a long story." She answered, quoting what Felix had said.
"Now, come on! Vanello has got a race to win!" (Name) dragged Vanello by the hand down the hallway. Ralph and Felix ran after them, Ralph pushing Vanello's kart.
It was time for the race
