Chapter Two

I slid down the door after closing it and yawned. It had been a long day an I was satisfied with how it went. Mark was terrified of me and Louis was falling for me. Looks like the Henderson's raised their children to be naive.

"How was school Julie?" I heard my mom tell from the kitchen.

"It's was good." I answered the same way I always had. Its safer to keep her away from my real life.  I mean I couldn't really tell her I threatened, blackmailed, and terrorized a kid could I?

I grabbed my backpack and weaved my way around the boxes that were still piled everywhere. My dad works for a law firm that has him move for certain cases. I saw an opportunity and I took it.

You might be one of those people who think murdering is wrong. Well I don't see any issue with it. Have you ever killed anyone? No, you probably haven't. You don't understand the feeling of pleasure when you watch someone squirm because they're nervous. Nervous of you and what you will do to them if they don't give you exactly what you want. You can imagine how happy it makes me feel.

I dropped my bag on the counter and sat on a barstool that was still covered in bubble wrap.

"Meet any new people? Any boys in particular?" my mom pried.

"Mom!" I said embarrassed even though we were alone.

"Well did you?" she continued unconcerned.

"Well to be honest... yeah." You might be wondering why I was actually pretending to like this Louis guy. To answer you honestly it's easier that way. The more common your emotions are the more people believe them.

"Ohh! This is so exciting! Should I get the scrap book?" she said grinning at me. "Well are you going to tell  me about him or not?" Mom asked after a pause.

Rolling my eyes I replied. "His name is Louis Henderson. And he's funny and nice and sweet and..." I almost had to clap a hand over my mouth to make sure I didn't say something like "easy to manipulate" or  "probably screams loudly".

"So when is your first date?" she asked as a joke.

"Well... I'm having dinner at his house tomorrow." my parents always let me do things like this. I don't have to check in - I just do whatever. As long as I didn't come with a wanted poster nothing could ever go wrong.

"Dinner? Fancy! Girl you just have to take some pictures for me I just know you'll be gorgeous." she teased in a Jersey accent. Mom used to be a voice actor for small movies, but quit when I was born. She could still do accents and it made her fun to be around.

"I'll take lots of pictures for you." I assured.

"Thanks hun. Now why don't you scurry on up to your room and get some homework done missus?" she switched to a deep southern accent and drew out some words longer than others.

"Will do." I said with an army salute. I hopped up the stair and opened the door to my room. It was painted yellow (My favorite color) and had the white bedframe put up already. We spent most of Monday unpacking but I really wanted to go to school today. It took little pleading for my parents to comply.

I pulled my mattress onto the wooden slats of the bedframe where it settled with a satisfying thunk! I hurriedly made my bed with my lime green sheets and settled in with some history trivia.

After a while I lost focus and was on my computer researching for anything that I had missed. Finding an article from a credible source I clicked it and it popped up.

ZIP TECHNOLOGY

This new and inventive software company was build almost a decade ago and business has been booming for it! One employee volunteered his time to sit and chat with our reporting team.

Q: How would you describe the morals of your company Zip Tech?

A: I would say they were a lot different from other companies, certainly not what one would expect. We focus on our operation and what steps will lead to the biggest success.

Q: How does your company deal with competitors.

A: Well we have a few good methods, but you might think some come down on their company to hard. You do what you have to when business is good.

Q: What makes your company such a good family?

A: We all work well together and have each others backs. No matter what we value all the lives of our employees and stick together.

Q: I'm sorry did you say value their lives? Are lives in danger here?

A: My apologies, I mean we care deeply about their well-being and health. I assure you that no ones life is in danger.

Q: What benefits does your company...

I exited as the article wasn't helpful in terms of information and sighed. I rubbed my temples and pushed my computer to the bottom of my bed and stretched out to take a little nap. I pulled out my phone and played some calming music. Well at least I thought it was calming. It was the screaming of the third person I killed. He started pleading with me on the tape I had and silently mouthed the words along with it.

It quickly lulled me to sleep.
