Part 12

—— [ PART TWELVE ] ——

Both hands were clutching onto the straps of her bag. She sighed as she blankly stared at the road ahead of her form. The black haired girl is still in doubts if she should accept him back as her mate. It's not like that Rys likes him, but she's not the type of person to make someone suffer, even when he isn't exactly a "human."

Don't worry, Rys. You can do this. You're a tough girl, right? She assured herself, but the human is not really that convinced of her self-talk. Tough girl?! She scoffed to herself. She was more of a weirdo, talking to herself in the middle of the night.

You guys must be wondering why she was even walking in the middle of the night, but Rys was just now traveling back to her house since she had been staying in Pinkie's house since earlier.

Crickets are chirping; Rys felt a bit fear crawling up within her, and she decided that she should hurry up. It was certainly dangerous for a woman like her to be outside right now. Her maid had always reprimanded her for it, but she could not help but be rebellious at times.

Her pace was a little fast; she soon came across an empty park; an abandoned park to be exact... Although Rys had heard chilling stories of it, she did not really care about those stories or this park. She glanced at the place, only for her green eyes to widen in shock.

She gasped. There— right there— was him, Mr. Cross. On top of his body was that wolf. But it cannot be really a wolf, can it?. His size wasn't normal; he was very huge!

He must be a werewolf; he must be...

She stepped closer to those supernatural beings, and she could take a glimpse of blood trickling down his snout. Her heart instantly gave out a tremble, and she did not hesitate to run towards them. She wasn't this normally brave but thinking that her vampire may possible die, Rys wasn't willing to let that happen.

*** PART TWELVE ***

"Don't worry, Miss. I'll make sure you'll have a rest after this." He gently pulled away her hair from her neck, making it bare. His blue eyes reddened at the delicious sight of it, but is it really delicious?

Enough to chase away the taste of hers?

His throat dried up as he thought of her red blood being sucked up by him. He shook his head, trying to erase that wonderful thought. He, instead, tried to focused himself on his seduced victim. A smirk lifted up the corners of his lips, but it quickly faltered when a sharp pang of pain attacked him on his side.

He placed that aside as he now bared his sharp fangs, puncturing the soft flesh of his unexpected victim. Blood started to fill him up. His energy slowly being renewed. He dug his fangs deeper, longing for more. He'll admit it. Her blood is tasty enough for him to like it; but sadly enough, hers is more delicious. Probably the best he had ever tasted in his whole lifetime.

The vampire continued to suck more, savoring the moment of calmness and blood-feeding. But it all stopped when he sensed someone stalking him. He retreated his bloody-painted lips from his victim that seemes to enjoy his doing.

If only she knows-

"Hey, why did you stop?" The maiden in his hold asked, her eyes closed. He could see that the human girl is in a dizzy state as she couldn't stand up in a proper manner. He could foretell that this human girl will be unconscious if he continued to suck her blood.

Death is possible too for this naive girl.

"I'm sorry, Miss. Game's over, but I'll make sure that you'll have a good rest," He said.

He wiped off the rest of her red blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. Such a waste, but he still have to do something.

"Wha-" The moment she opened her brown eyes, it widened. As a pair of red eyes were staring back at her. She was quickly caught at the hypnotizing reddish colored eyes, falling into a relaxing and easily influenced state.

The vampire whispered sleep as soon as he was sure that she is under his power. The human  girl instantly followed his order and dropped down to his prepared arms. He gently laid her down in the ground, narrowing his eyes soon later around the park. Looking for a certain person that owns that disgusting scent.

"Show's over!" Mr. Cross snarled, showing off his fangs as he opened his mouth. Anger glinted in his red eyes as his handsome face expressed the disgust he was feeling right now.

"Show yourself!" No one replied despite his threathening tone. His blood boiled at that, so he started to shout again. But before he could even throw out more insulting words, a beast suddenly lunged at him out of nowhere.

A growl ripped out from the huge gray wolf's throat as he stared down at the vampire which is now a prey to his eyes. The vampire snarled back at him while he tried to push off the mammal from his figure to which he succeeds, thanks to being newly refueled.

He threw the beast with all of his strength. As far as he can. The wolf fell down to the ground with a thud, not far from the vampire. The wolf quickly went back to its four paws. His black eyes were in a hateful glare as it was directed to the blood sucker completely. Mr. Cross gladly returned it back, his blood-stained lips curled up in disdain.

His lips formed in a smirk. "Come attack me-"

"-pup."

***

He clutched to his side, struggling in the ground. He didn't really expect for his energy to be drained that easily. He blinked his blue eyes, his vision blurry as he watched the grey wolf preparing for its next attack, the final blow that would finally kill him and erase his unholy existence.

He closed his eyes, thinking of her.

     Loneliness.

     Sadness.

     Pain.

That were all caused by her.

He wonders if she is also experiencing this misery, he hopes not.

     He hopes not.

     _ : His sudden reaction

Quickly, the vampire snorted at his sudden idiot thought? It's stupid, right? That he was hoping that she's okay when all of these anguish were all caused by her.

By those I reject you words.

He thought that having a mate is just like having a weakness. A human mate in addition. But it seems like being rejected by your mate is worse. Mr. Cross knows that he is rejected from those words alone, from the fact that he felt like his soul was being torn apart at those words.

What would have happen if he accepted that human girl completely? Would it have been a different outcome? A better one? With those thoughts, Mr. Cross couldn't help but sigh in curiosity.

      He won't ever know-

"Don't hurt him!" Don't hurt me? That voice! It remindered him of hers. He snapped his dark blue eyes open as he saw her form.

Rys?

His tears flowed at the sight.

Rys stood there before him, bravely and beautiful as ever as she shielded him from the huge gray wolf.  An ironic sight indeed. The vampire should be the one who is supposed to be protecting her from his opponents, not she protecting him.

Eh? The wolf blankly stared in confusion; but it instantly disappeared, for realization soon dawned on his beastly figure. Oddly, he didn't lunge. The wolf instead turned around and ran away.

With blurry vision, Mr. Cross looked at her in adoration and joy. The human girl instantly turned around, quickly rushing to his aid. Her expression was in a concerned expression as she observed his wounds.

     "You're bleeding!" ('Д')

Oh, no! Oh, no! Why is he smiling! Has he gone mad?! Rys rubbed his bloody arm as Mr. Cross smiled at the skin contact. Her touch is magical as it dulled the pain attacking him.

     He nodded, dazed. "Yeah."

Rys paniched when her soulmate closed his nice colored blue eyes. Oh my gosh? Is he going to die right now after she just saved him from that damn giant wolf. "No, don't die just yet! Mr. Cro-"

    "-Bled. Call me Bled."

Rys sighed in relief. So, he isn't dead. Thank goodness, but-

     "Bled?"

Tingles crept up his skin, covering up the painful sensation. His first name being said by her caused him a lot of happiness. Now, he understands why you have to savor your mate. Sometimes, they are the only ones who can give you happiness despite with the smallest things they do.

      Bled opened his eyes.

     "Thank God! You're still conscious!"

She looks so worried. Mr. Cross felt so guilty for making her worried a lot. In spite of all the mean things he did to her, she's still nice. "Can you listen to me for awhile?"

"B-b"

"Please!" he pleaded.

Finally, she threw out a silent nod, causing for him to slighly blush because of the words he is about to say. With a sigh, he finally said it with a determined look across his face. It's now or never anyways.

"I, Bled, accept you as my mate."

What? Rys froze as she realized that he defeated her to it. She's supposed to be saying that. But instead of complaining, she gave him a soft genuine smile.

"Me too."

Bled closed his eyes, satisfied for the first time, as he eventually drifted into darkness. Sadly for him, he should have waited. Those memorable words - she will say it, and she said it as the guy was in an unconscious state.

"I, Rys Flirst, accept you too as my mate."
