*Part 06
—— [ PART SIX ] ——
Her bags beneath her eyes were dark. Her manner of walk was kinda sluggish. Though Rys looked so exhausted and horrible, Pinkie still had the guts to ask how her morning.. Rys could only look at her. Passing her friend, Rys walked to her seat.
Pinkie gave out a soft smile and sighed. Not a good morning for her, I guess. She followed her friend thereafter. Due to teacher not being present yet, the class was so noisy. Though the black haired girl was not friends with everyone in her class, there were a few people who walked up to her, greeted her, and asked if she's alright.
"I'm alright. It is nothing," Rys assured their sweet class president. The latter smiled at her but wasn't really convinced with Rys's assurance. Although her classmate was forced to move away when she noticed Pinkie beside them
"Just tell me if something's troubling you," the girl told her before walking away. Bumping to a black haired snob in the process. Rys watched them for awhile... Later settling her gaze on those concerned blue eyes.
"I'm fine," Rys instantly declared, "I just didn't have a good night sleep last night. That's all." But in all honesty, the girl was traumatized by what happened last time... The thought of that vampire finding her again brought her lots of worry. It made her stay awake last night. In other words, she wasn't able to rest even for a few minutes.
"Hey cheer up!" Pinkie gave out a big smile, hoping that would alleviate her friend's dull self. "Just think about meeting your other soulmates. Maybe they aren't as bad as the first one."
Pinkie sat on Rys's table.
Rys rolled her green eyes. "Or maybe they're as bad. Or probably more worse than that vampire," she spat back, quite sarcastic in her tone of voice.
"Well, you could still reject them." Pinkie laughed, playfully swinging her legs which was really distracting... Rys placed a hand on one of her legs, trying to halt Pinkie from moving too much.
"That isn't even proven true yet," Rys muttered.

With her head resting on the table, Rys didn't really have anything to do throughout this wanted free time. Her best friend Pinkie noticed that, but she did not go to Rys for a chat as she had felt the desire of Rys to be left alone. So, instead of bothering her friend, Pinkie brought out a book to read and amuse herself.
That book, of course, was vampire-related.
Closing her green eyes, Rys drifted off to an empty space of darkness. No dreams. Nothing at all... But the girl could hear the noise around her. Being pulled back later to reality by the sudden silence of the noises. Her green eyes fluttered open, and Rys saw someone standing in front of her.
Of course she quickly sat up straight from her seat, thinking that it must be the substitute teacher. Though that changed when Rys raised up her eyes to come across to a certain person gazing down at her with that smirk, full of mockery.
It's him. The vampire! How—
She straightened her posture as she gazed up at him, directly and unflinching. Rys felt the urge to escape... But she maintained her calm. The young man let his blue eyes travel down to the paper he was holding. Rys immediately assumed that it was the attendance papers, but how could he be their substitute teacher for the day?
Has he been working here since right from the start? Or he purposely came here to kill her for himself? He gave out a hmm sound. "You, Miss Flirst. Stay after class." Her surname smoothly rolled down from the tip of his tongue.. Shiver instantaneously ran down her spine.
Detention immediately?! She was beyond frustrated. The girl stood up and faced that bastard with a glare. "How come? I didn't do anything!" she protested. The man raised an eyebrow at her sudden actions.. He had not thought that she'll talk to him like in that way. Interesting though. He'll probably play with her later.
"Sit down, Ms. Flirst," he said as he stared back to those narrowed green eyes. "You wouldn't like to see me mad, right?" Rys glared at him and was about to retort— when she heard whispers around her.. She tilted her head, seeing her classmates giving her those curious glances. It pulled Rys back to the reality that she was being observed and judged by her classmates.
Cheeks painted pink.
She was forced to swallow her shame as she quietly took her sit. The man looked satisfied, and he walked back to the front. Humiliated by earlier, the girl did not have the courage to look anywhere else— other than her hands that were resting on the table.
Why is he even here?
"Pssst!" She turned her head to her right and saw her friend Pinkie. Her expression was like what the heck is that and you got to be kidding me. Rys mouthed later. Her friend nodded, still confused.
Her attention was later stolen when the vampire had decided to open his mouth. He is handsome, she pondered, but too dangerous. Too bad. Rys sighed. Listening in to his words, the girl was almost sighing out a dreamily; but Rys was stopping herself. It was weird really, but it must be the effects of being his soulmate.
"You guys must be wondering why I'm here, right?" the vampire asked, sounding like a decent person, with his friendly smiles and charismatic aura. He looks so cute. He doesn't look like a savage beast anymore. But Rys should stop herself from being deceived.
"Not really, sir," some guy said from the front row. He was one of the guys who didn't really have problems with socializing to different kinds of people. The teacher threw out a laugh.
Rys bit her lips. Damn, that's cute.
"Why is that?" the teacher asked him. The student instantly answered, quite confident in a well. "Well. You are our substitute teacher." That caused the man to laugh again as he shook his head, signalling that her classmate was wrong.
"Actually, I'm your advisor," he said.
Advisor, that echoed throughout her mind. It froze her into place. Why? Why advisor? Where's Ms. Weze?! She gazed at the man. Her heart was thumping like crazy. He couldn't have done something to the sweet old lady?! The vampire noticed her intense gaze. It was fast, but she noticed that slight curving up of the corner of his lips. It almost made her run.
The class was quiet.
"Um, where's Miss Weze?" some girl asked him.
"I'm afraid that I don't know the answer to that," the man said, "All I know is that Miss Weze has gone missing yesterday." He took a sit on his chair. Everyone in the class was still quiet. The black haired girl looked at him, deep in her thoughts. Something tells her that he's involved behind the missing elderly woman.
Her stares turned to glares.
He noticed it once again. He smiled. "Alright. Cheer up, class! We still have lectures to move on to." Now those silence was ripped out by groans. The man chuckled as he finally introduced himself.
"By the way, class, you can call me Mr. Cross." She almost spat out her saliva when she heard it. Quite ironic... Did he intentionally do that? Rys wasn't amused though— not with the games he was trying to play. He wasn't here to teach.
He is here for her.
Would she get to live for another day? She doubted that. She had to remind herself to write a letter for Pinkie, Amanda and her parents. If she dies or goes missing, then they will not be shocked anymore.
"And I'll be your advisor for the remaining days of this school year."— And the one who would cause hell for her this school year, she thought as she rested her face on the palm of her hand, observing the young man.
