*Part 05

—— [ PART FIVE ] ——

Scribbling down the answers of Pinkie down her notebook, Rys had just finished telling everything to her best friend... Not missing any details as she narrates. In contrast to Rys's almost sullen-like expression, Pinkie was just grinning the whole time— amused by what she was hearing. Rys noted her friend's grin and stopped with the homework. Crossing her arms, she faced her friend.

"Oh, uh, that's quite a pity," commented the blonde haired girl when Pinkie realized that Rys was waiting for a response. Though the statement should hold a sympathetic tone, Pinkie was still with that massive grin. Rys, of course, did not feel any concerns from her best friend. Seriously, is Pinkie even her best friend?

Rys tried to speak, but Pinkie beats her to it. With a sudden clutching on Rys's shoulder, Pinkie excitedly gave her several shakes. "But seriously a vampire?! A vampire is your mate?!" Obviously, Pinkie was glad for her friend— a bit envious too. Oh come on! She does think that Rys is living the dream.

You rarely encounter a story like this. No!!!— you never encounter a story like that in real life!!! Pinkie then continued with the aggressive shaking... Rys, on the other hand, was trying to calm herself down because the girl had just been having the urge to slap Pinkie in order to stop her annoying behavior.

"Yes!" Rys tried to remove her friend's hand. Her teeth gritting as she spat those words out. When she was able to remove herself from Pinkie's clutches, the girl let out a sigh.

"I honestly want to tweet this," Pinkie blurted out after she was able to calm herself down, but you can see that her excitement over this topic wasn't over.

Rys turned her attention to her, glaring. "Don't you dare!" Pinkie laughed at her friend as she nodded. Glaring at her just for more few seconds, Rys gave her attention to her assignments again. Though she was kinda busy with— uh— copying the answers, Rys would still try to converse with her best friend.

"I don't get it. How come you easily believe me and my stories?" Rys questioned, a bit puzzled. "Do you even have any idea that Theresa is a true witch?"

Pinkie giggled, staring down at her toy bunnie with that soft gaze. "Maybe. I don't know.. Must have been so used to reading fantasy stories."

Well, point taken.

Um, Pinkie is kind of a vampire maniac. She loves vampires, Rys tells you. There's even a time, if Rys could recall, that Pinkie childishly wished for her birthday to be swept off her feet by a vampire... Ah, her friend just loves romanticizing herself with sparkling vampires, especially from a certain anime called Diabolik Lovers or something like that— that Rys may have been weirded out by Pinkie at first, but she soon got used to it.

"But you know what."

Oh boy. Here it goes again.

Pinkie pressed the bunnie close to her chest. "Rys, I think you're lucky."

"Lucky my ass." Rys turned to her friend. "You do know that he wants to kill me!" Rys frowned at her. Then an almost expression of helplessness was suddenly drawn on her face. "—that vampire wants to kill me," the black haired girl muttered to her friend, repeating it again— her voice sounding so sorrowful.

"Oh yeah."

Silence dawned between the two. As a vampire kinda enthusiast, she really wanted to change the mindset of Rys regarding to her vampire soulmate — hoping that the two would fix the misunderstanding and accept each other. The blonde haired girl really wanted that to happen, so that she would be able to have a conversation with the vampire... It would be seriously amazing if that can happen!

"Don't you guys want to talk it out?" she attempted again but was silenced by Rys's narrowed green eyes. She gave out a sigh, dropping the borrowed pen.

"You don't understand it, do you?"

Pinkie nervously chuckled. "Well, I was hoping—"

"You want me to be killed, Pinkie?" she asked. The blonde haired girl let go of her hold on the toy bunny. She shook her head, muttering a tiny "no."  "I hope you really understand what I am trying to say... This is just not your  fantasy-romance novel where the girl ends up with some sparkling blood sucking vampire."

"This can be dangerous to me," she whispered.

Pinkie slowly nodded. "I understand." Suddenly, a spark lit up her earlier dull light blue eyes. "Well at least that proves you're not a hopeless romantic after all," she exclaimed with a smile.

That lit up the atmosphere a bit.

"Maybe." Rys let out a tiny smile. "Though having some scary vampire as a soulmate, I cannot say that I have some luck in finding romance."

Pinkie grinned back. "Don't forget. You still have other mates." Hearing those words, Rys rolled her green eyes. "Oh, that." But she was slightly laughing. Though Rys felt worry for the nearing future. Would they be like him too?

Rys was snapped out from her thoughts when her friend gave her a pat on the shoulder. "Hey, guess what? Something just came up in my mind, and I thought that it would be a great help to you."

          "What do you mean?"

Pinkie rubbed the back of her neck as she began to elaborate, "You see— um— I have been reading vampire stories, and there are times when the protagonist could— um— reject their mates or be rejected." Rys eyed her. She was clearly confused with what her friend was blabbering on.

Rys blinked her green eyes. "So uh, what are trying to point out?"

Slapping her forehead, Pinkie announced, "Well, I may have the solution to your problem!" Pinkie paused, stroking her chin. "And to the vampire as well. Because clearly you do not want each other to be bonded to each other." Which is kind of disappointing, sighs, Pinkie lets out an internal sigh.

          "And that is?"

Pinkie suddenly stood up from her bed, surprising Rys just how sudden it is. In a very dramatic manner, she pointed down at the black haired girl. Expression, cold... Voice filled with disdain. "I, Pinkie Thorse, reject you as my mate!"

Pinkie's acting was great, but the dialogue was so hilarious— it cracked out a laugh from Rys. Resolving to play along with her friend's childish antics, Rys placed a hand on her chest and feigned the pain. "What's this?! It hurts!"

"Your acting is terrible!" Pinkie laughed, collapsing down to the comfort of her comfortable, soft texture of her bed.

          Rys rolled her eyes.

"Yours too," she lied, not wanting to be humiliated like this by her best friend. Pinkie just let go a scoff at her words. "But seriously? What the heck was that?!" Raising an eyebrow, she questioned her friends. Seriously. That— that does not seem like a solution to her?!The phrase was very cringy. Too ridiculous!

"Well, that's what usually happen in stories," Pinkie said with a smile. Rys was a bit in disbelief by the idea; but hey! Anything could happen. So Rys did resolve to try that idea if she ever encounters that vampire again. Pinkie was a bit enthusiastic when Rys agreed to it. Though she was still a bit disappointed that it had come to this.

Hey!— but maybe her best friend would get to have a chance again to have another vampire mate, Pinkie, with a smile, told herself, Rys still have other four mates after all. Rys, on the other hand, noticed that smile, and she did not like it one bit.
