But most of all, he was alone.

He was alone, until he met that one person. That one person he didn't find annoying. Yuri Plisetsky didn't hate this person, this man. No, in fact, he liked him. He was able to make Yuri smile. He was just one person, but he brought more happiness to Yuri than anyone else, except for maybe his grandfather. The name of this special person was Otabek Altin. Ever since the Grand Prix where Yuri Plisetsky won first, placing Yuuri Katsuki in second, Otabek and Yuri had kept in touch. That competition was the first real time they had got a chance to talk. The friendship which Otabek instituted meant something special to the young Yuri. Yuri was only 3 years younger than his new friend. Soon, the feeling of friendship seemed to develop to something greater for the younger male. Through these feelings, which he had acquired over only a few months, Yuri held a grimacing face, not showing that anything had changed.

There was a 2,822 km space between the two friends, but even that amount of distance could keep them from finding a way to communicate. Not even the time difference could cause them to falter. Though Otabek's time was always 2 hours ahead, he stayed up as late as possible, even if it was just to say a simple hello. There were small things like these that might hint that Otabek has feelings for the young skater, but no one payed him much mind to begin with, so no one could say for sure. Yuri never noticed, and if he did, he hadn't said anything. Yuri was too busy worrying about his own feelings to Otabek.

Someday, maybe things will change.

Maybe Otabek will find he has feelings himself.

Maybe there will be a happy ending.

But that could just be wishful thing, because...

Maybe Yuri will have his heart shattered into a million pieces.
