The whole gang was waiting anxiously in Nandini's room. 

Yaar Nandini you should have told us about Abhi. This is not a surprise but a SHOCK, exclaimed Cabir

Before Nandini could reply Mukti and Abhi enter Nandini's room. Looking at Mukti's and Abhi's gloomy face they could conclude what happened in the guest room. Mukti ran to Manik and fell on his arms; Nandini move to Abhi and held his arms.

Guys now we all know what Mukti's decision is, I don't want anymore drama in my wedding. Abhi if you are from Nandini's side you can attend our wedding but I would expect you to respect Mukti's decision and maintain the dignity and distance from her in my wedding functions, said Manik

Manik, Mukti cut Manik in the middle. All eyes went to Mukti, "I want to give A CHANCE to Abhi. What he did years back was stupid but his intend was not wrong. Even after 8 years I have not been able to move on, maybe because I need to explore my relationship with Abhi. I want to give a chance not for him but for myself; so in the future I don't have regrets"

Are you sure Mukti? asked Cabir

Mukti nodded positively 

Well I guess we need to welcome him back then, saying that Cabir jumped on him

Cabir, don't jump on him like this. He is still recovering, screamed Nandini 

Cabir raised his arms up, "Okay sorry! I didn't know"

Nandini any more secrets between us? asked Manik

Manik, this is the last. Abhi was still getting his treatment in California. He got better but his cancer relapsed again and he had to go through the treatment again. He wanted to be sure before coming back in Mukti's life. Understand from his side too. He never wanted Mukti to go through the pain with him

So, you had to take care of him that's why you stayed extra 9 months in California after your graduation, asked Manik

Yes! 

I don't know if I should hug him for returning back to Mukti or punch him for keeping you away from me for extra 9 months 

Nandini hugged him tight, "I am glad that now Mukti also got a chance for LOVE"

I'll still test Abhi; getting our approvals is going to be hard

Palligai Thellichal

This ritual sees around five to seven married women decorating seven earthen pots with sandalwood paste. These pots are filled with a mix of curd and nine different grains, to be immersed later in water to feed fish for good luck. During the ceremony, traditional rangoli is done inside the house. This ritual intend to bless the couple's married life with success and happiness. Nandini's aunt and relatives performed the ritual. 

Nandini was all tired with all the rituals and puja. Amma asked her to go get something to eat and nap for sometime. The ladies will be coming in the evening for her Mhendi

Evening - Nandini's mhendi ceremony 

Nandini was surrounded with all her cousins, aunts and relatives singing and dancing. While she was sitting in the middle for her mhendi to get done. Sitting in the same spot for two long hours was a pure torture. Amma came and fed her some food. (I do not own the mhendi design. I got the design from pinterest)

At night

Nandini finally laid down on bed dead tired. Her phone rang and with great difficulty she picked it up as she still had mhendi on her hands. Nandini put the phone on speaker

Manik you are on speaker. My mhendi is still not dried yet

You know they say the darker the mehndi color is; the deeper the husband's love will be

Waise Nandini, why all your rituals and wedding ceremony starts at 5am in the morning yaar. I could barely sleep. I am so anxious that I will be late for my own wedding functions, I may not just sleep the whole night

Nandin chuckled, Manik I think you should sleep now. Appa will be there tomorrow morning for VRUTHAM ceremony and after that ceremony you will come here and stay till the wedding. 

2 more days Miss Murthy; you better be ready to be Mrs. Malhotra

Just make sure your MUNDU is tight when you come to take me with you

Next day at 7:00am

Fab4 + Jaan + Navya are still tired with all the rituals and last minutes preparation. The whole Malhotra mansion looks like a new bride. Manik was greeting Appa and some of the uncle that came with him

Vrutham – This ritual takes place at the groom's place on the early mornings of the day before the wedding. The day signifies transition of the groom from the Bachelorhood phase of life to Domestic phase. Manik took permission from Appa to begin his married life. To make it a little more fun Appa make it a little tough for Manik

Manik, my son do you think you are ready to leave Bachelorhood and enter the phase of domestic life? asked Appa with a smirk 

Manik not understanding that Appa is pulling his leg answered sincerely, "Yes, Appa I am ready to get married and start my married life Nandini"

Wives complained a lot! Look at all married men here. All the uncle who came with him nodded their head

But my Nandini never complained. I complain more then her! claimed Manik 

One of the uncle, "He is wiped; he is already domestic" Everyone chuckle at his remark 

Appa patted Manik's cheeks and tied a sacred thread around the his wrists. This thread is said to protect from evil energy.

Kids you guys go rest and get dressed for the next ceremony, said Appa

Manik was all ready in MUNDU; Cabir and Mukti kept giggling looking at him. 

Appa are you sure this will not open in the middle of the ceremony? asked Manik

Manik relax, I have tied it very tight. It won't open even if you try, said Appa

Cabir wispers, "If it won't open even if he tries what will he do in his suhagraat?"

Mukti responds, "You can still do it in MUNDU Cabir. You just have to pull it up"

Both of them start giggling. Manik got frustrated because of their giggling, "You both what you are giggling at and Cabir YOU ALSO GET READY IN MUNDU"

Cabir yelled, "WHAT?"

What, What? This is my Tamilian wedding and ALL THE MENS MUST WEAR MUNDU and Mukti where is your Kanchipuram silk sari?

What? screamed Mukti

Don't scream I will be deaf because of you both yelling on my face. Why should I suffer alone; ONE FOR ALL AND ALL FOR ONE! Rest of the gang made a fuc* yo* face! Jaan beamed in happiness 

"I am so excited to wear Kanchipuram saree. Bhabhi maa already taught me how to wear them."

Naandi Shraddham – Once Manik and his friends are all ready, they were welcome by Amma, Appa and all Nandini side relatives. Nandini's side family welcomed them with tray full of favors like sweets, betel leaves, betel nuts and fruits. Cabir and Druv accepted all the heavy tray given by Nandini's family. Manik was welcomed with a shower of rose water from all Nandini's cousin who were just giggling and gushing how handsome he is looking. 

Amma welcome Manik by putting garland around the his neck and applied a spot of sandalwood and vermillion paste on his forehead. Manik and his friends are fed sweets prepared by the Amma.

Cabir, "Amma can I get one more, this sweet is sooo good"

Off course my child, said Amma lovingly and fed him sweet again

Alia chuckle, Always the bhukkad"

Amma fed Manik again, "Amma no more I am so full"

Manik, today and tomorrow we won't hear "NO" from you. Now open your mouth. She very lovingly fed Manik again 

Well no body fed me or asked if I also would like some sweets. I am playing dual responsibility today. I am also playing Manik's Appa role today so will bride's mother feed groom's Appa some sweet as well, flirted Appa. Amma only blushes and smacked his arms in response 

Amma, you can't smack my Appa's arms. You fed all the groom side and now only my Appa is left. C'mon feed him as well, said Manik with a teasing smile

Everyone hotted listening to Manik. Amma was all red listening to his soon to be son in law's naughtiness. Amma put whole sweet tray on Appa's hand and ran inside the kitchen 

Arey, Radha this is cheating, Appa screamed calling Amma 

The whole family and relatives just laughed looking at Appa's face. Nandini was witnessing the whole banter from her room. The constant smile was plastered on her lips; her eyes got little teary listening to their fun banter. Manik looked up and saw Nandini lost somewhere but a constant smile was plasters on her face which mirrored on Manik's face as well

After the welcome was done, ten Brahmins were invited over who take part in a ritual that offers appeasement to the families' departed ancestors. The Brahmins were treated for the feast of traditional Tamil vegetarian lunch and are given traditional two piece garments (veshtiangavastram) along with betel leaves, betel nuts, coconut, fruits and sweets. The Brahmins bless the couple and wish them a prosperous life ahead.

After the the puja is done. Manan were left alone

I look better without Mundu! Manik's wink at Nandini 

Nandini made an "O" understanding his double meaning and suddenly smirk, "Actually you are right you look better without MUNDU actually you look better with ANY CLOTHES!  Manik eye double the size not expecting that bold response from his soon to be wife
