The Rumors
Hinata walked down the stairs after taking a nap..for three hours.
She opened the door and walked down the stairs.
She was instantly hit with the smell of the food that was being prepared in the kitchen, and decided to turn the corner into that specific room.
She saw that her sister and Neji were setting the table, her father at the end of the table reading a book, and Hizashi busy at the stove.
"Finally awake?" Hizashi asked sarcastically. "I thought we would have to eat dinner without you." he chuckled.
"That would never happen." Hinata stated.
"Well food is almost ready, have a seat please."
Hinata took her seat by her sister and Neji sat across from them.
Hizashi sat a plate down in front of every person, and then he took his seat next to Neji and started eating.
"Hiashi and I talked about you two working at the diner for the rest of the summer, should be fun right?" Hizashi started, breaking the awkward silence.
Neji sighed."Well we could use the extra help, being it's just us two."
"Yeah we don't mind." Hanabi chimed in.
Hinata just hummed, not really paying attention, picking at her steak in thought.
"Hinata, don't play with your food, it's impolite, especially after your uncle just-"
"It's okay Hiashi, if she doesn't like it-"
"It's not the food." Hinata sighed, then took a bite afterwords.
The room became silence once again; the sounds of silverware scraping their plate.
"What's so mysterious about the mansion?" Hinata finally voiced her thoughts aloud.
Neji groaned in annoyance, and Hizashi coughed on his food. He took his napkin and wiped his mouth cautiously, all eyes on him; Hanabi and Hiashi stared curiously as they must have not payed any attention to the building before.
"Um, I think you should forget about it Hinata."
"What mansion?" Hanabi joined in.
"There's this mysterious mansion, not too far from here actually, I'm surprise you didn't notice. Well, anyway, Neji told me not to go near it and I've been curious ever since."
"Well, Neji's right, and it's best not to ask about it."
"But why-"
"Hinata." her father said sternly.
She dropped the conversation, and ate her food silence.

Once dinner was finished Hinata took a shower and changed into her pajamas, then quietly went to her room.
The room was dark, the only source of light was the bright moon shining through the huge widow that was placed in the middle of the wall.
She sat on the cushions in the bay window and stared at the dark mansion in thought.
'I can't help, but be curious.' she thought.
She stared up at the stars.
"I feel so attracted to the house for some reason." she whispered to her self.
There was a knock from the door, and she said a quick "come in" to her visitor.
"Shouldn't you be asleep Neji?"
"I should be the one asking that question. I'm just checking up on you."
"Thanks, but I took a nap earlier so I can't sleep."
She then glanced out the window.
Neji stared at her suspiciously, then groaned after a few seconds passed.
"Do you really want to know what happened?"
This caught Hinata's attention and she snapped her her to his direction, then nodded.
Neji sighed, he walked over to where Hinata was sitting and took a seat next to her, also glancing out the window before speaking.
"It all started a few weeks before school ended for the summer. I don't know the full story, just talk among the people of this town."
"What did they say?"
"Supposedly, the boy who lives there..killed his own parents. They even say that speaking his name is forbidden, that he's a monster in human form."
Her eyes widened. "That's a bit much is it? Did he kill them?"
Neji shrugged."Well there was only one gun, and his parents dead on the floor, he was holding the gun in his hand."
Hinata gasped silently.
"He claimed that he didn't, but there was no proof or evidence, and it didn't really help the fact that the majority of the people didn't like him or that there were no cameras. Now he is feared by everyone, and no one goes near that house at all, almost like it's been abandoned."
"What happened to the boy?"
"Well since no one can prove his innocence, he lones the mansion by himself on house arrest for the whole summer."
"Shouldn't he be charged more for murder?"
Neji shrugged. "Like I said before, no one knows if he actually did it."
"What do you think Neji."
He thought for a few minutes then turned to Hinata. "I don't believe in rumors, nobody knows what happened, but if there was only one gun found in the boy's hands and two people lying on the floor, what are you to suspect?"
Hinata hummed. "I understand what you are saying, but why would he kill his parents in the first place, and he claimed to be innocent."
"Doesn't everyone say they are innocent when being caught doing something, especially if it's illegal? And besides, who could know the reason." he stated.
Hinata contemplated some more while staring out the sky.
"Okay." Neji got up and stretched, then continued. "I'm going to bed, see you in the morning. Goodnight." he said as he was walking towards the door.
"Goodnight." she mumbled, and the door closed.
'Is it wrong for me to still be attracted to a house, with a murderer inside?'
"But if no one knows the story..how could anyone be sure?" she whispered to herself in thought.
'Maybe he really is a beast?'
