Mark soon woke up and we ate in silence. I decided to pipe up and ask about the dog, that was now sitting beside me on the ground, eating some bacon I made for it. "Hey, Mark? What's up with the puppy? Boy or girl? What's it's name?" I asked all at once.

"Ok, for one, I decided to get you a gift for all you have done for me, for two, It is indeed, a girl, for three, she doesn't have a name. Give her any you want." I gushed in happiness. I was so excited. "PHOENIX!" I blurted out. "I wanna name her Phoenix." "Cooooooooooool" I loved it when people extended their words. Idk why...

I picked up Phoenix and brought her to my bedroom and we played around for a little bit.

TIME SKIP TO ONE YEAR LATER (NOTHING IMPORTANT HAPPENED...)

There we stood, in Mark's apartment, it had been deserted for over a year since he lived with me for all that time. We had decided on buying a new house and living together. Ya know, as roomates. Nothing else, though feelings were clearly, obviously, and very quickly blossoming. I hadn't cut since I had officially met Mark, and Phoenix was somehow even cuter now than since she was a puppy, and life was good.
