Livvy is all I have, besides a room at the Scholomace and a letter. The letter is addressed to me, Tiberius Blackthorn. The writing is something new, but seems to be so familiar. I hold the letter in my hand, unopened. He could've been sent through a fire message, but it was sent through the mail.

"Don't just sit there, open it!" Livvy says, trying to get around to face me and the letter. I flip the letter over to see the seal. I skim my fingers over the opening slowly, trying to make this last forever. When I catch my fingers on the corner of the opening I hold my breath, dragging my fingers around the seal to open the envelope.

I lift the flap open to see a lined piece of paper with writing on the paper. The writing on the paper is the same that was on the envelope. I take the piece of the paper and unfold it. The paper was folded three times. The ink on the paper is a dark blue, so dark blue that it looks black. The letter starts with Dear Ty. It dated May 7th. I run my hands over the writing, slowly tracing my fingers over the beginning paragraph.

Dear Ty, May 7th

Hey, Ty. I got your letter. It was really nice. I personally want to hear all about this frog of yours. I know that you always had your special way with animals. I wish I had a way like that with animals so I can entertain Mina. The Scholomace seems to be fun. I know that very talented Shadowhunters go there, so you deserve it.

I know what I did was wrong. I was just, I guess, scared that I hurt you. I'm not sure if I did, but I'll tell you this: I meant what I said. I never forgot that moment, and at times I wish I had never said it. But I know that I said it because I didn't want to lose you. Losing you was one of my greatest fears. You were the only one in the Institute who took me in, besides Livvy.

Dru and I made a promise, long ago. The promise was flimsy back then, cause I never thought I would break it. The promise was to never leave you, but here we are. I'm with Jem and Tessa and you're at the Scholomace. I have another promise, too. It's that I have to protect Mina. I have to stay with her and make sure she's safe. She's my little sister and I don't want to make the same mistake I did twice. But there's one last promise. I made it with myself. I will see you again, Ty. No matter what is in our way, I will see you and we will go back to the way we were.

P.S. Tell Livvy I said hi.

"Are you okay Ty?" Livvy floats around me, trying to get a good look at my face. She waves her hand in front of my face. I lift my head to look up at her.

"Oh poor Ty, you're crying!" Livvy says quietly. I lift my fingers to my face to feel the wet tracks of my tears on my face. I wipe them with the sleeve of my shirt and put the letter down.

I love you Ty, I love you.
