Truly
Once upon a time, there was a pony; a white, blue eyed pony, with bright pink hair. She had on her bum a mark of a green dove with flower hearts. She was a beloved pony, and played with often. Her soft coat was adored, and though she still had her stand, she could stand just fine on her feet without it. It made her look slightly lower than everyone else. When the dreamer that played with her grew up, it reminded her of a beetle. The dreamer you see, she loved beetles. Ladybugs and fireflies were among her favorites. But what she loved most about beetles, was that they could both fly in the air, and crawl on the ground. A person that was like a beetle, could remember there was a time to be humble and a time to stand out. It's necessary to be both at one time or another. When the dreamer played with Truly, she often pictured her that way: shy and humble most of the time, but a force to be reckoned with when the time was due.
One day Truly found herself in a black void. She was afraid. She didn't understand what was going on. On the one hand, she still looked the same, but she wasn't a pony anymore. Her form had changed, though she did enjoy the new clothes she had. On her body was a whispering gown.
On her feet were sparkling sandals.
On her head was a floral and lace band.
Truly noticed on her skin, she still had the soft down of hair. "I wonder what this means?" she asked herself, as she knew for a human form this looked quite odd. More than this though, she wondered where the rest of her family was.
"Where is my mother and father? Where are my sisters, and the rest of the ponies that the dreamer used to play with?"
Just as she asked this, a purple unicorn appeared. She looked different than truly. Her muzzle was slightly longer, her blue eyes more almond shaped, with eyelashes painted on. Her horn was more intricate than the ponies as well, much longer, and painted gold, with more swirls. She had what appeared to be hair around her ankles. She did not have a mark on both sides of her rear. Instead it was only on one side, and white bow ties took up her entire flank.
"Truly?"
"Mama!"
"What's going on?"
Even as she asked, she began to change. Her horn disappeared, but witch's hat took it's place.
A simple t-shirt covered her torso, but fitting of the role she played for so long.
A high-waisted, full skirt flowed around her lower body.
Boots with dragon flies adorned her feet.
A beautiful set of wedding rings graced her fingers, of diamonds and gold, and an alexanderite stone.
"Oh, how lovely!" said Bow Tie. Truly was in awe too. Even as they were admiring though, a necklace graced the both of their necks.
"What do you think this is?" asked Truly. "And why do you think ours has no inscription?"
"Looks like they could be gold, or silver or rose gold or copper, depending on how the Dreamer decides it will be; and I think the inscription is yet to be seen," said Mama Bow Tie.
"Why do you think we are here?" asked Truly. "What is this place?" At the moment, though they had the mobility to walk about, they both stood in what appeared to be an endless void of shadows. "The Nothing."
"What we are standing in, is in fact the Dreamer's Mind. The setting we will be in is yet to be created."
A slightly larger unicorn appeared. Unlike the plastic figurines, he was a "stuffed animal." His eyes were black marbles, his horn and hooves, a bright yellow. The dreamer often imagined them to be bright gold. His fur was white and soft. He too began to shift his form with clothing of his own.
"Not bad," said King David, for that was his name for so many years. He began to laugh outrageously when he saw the image on his shirt. "What is this?"
"It looks like an octopus is playing with a set of drums, dear," said Bow Tie.
David couldn't help but smile as he spotted their wedding rings.
"It looks like you and I are officially married now, dear."
"We have been for so many years," said Bow Tie. "Maybe the dreamer will even dream us up a wedding."
"Do you think that we will finally get some answers here?" asked Truly? "How come I have this fuzzy down but Mama doesn't? How come Mama has the longer hair on her arms?"
"I do, don't I," said Bow Tie. "Though to be honest, I kind of like it. It reminds me of the graceful bell sleeves in the fancy blouses."
"It does look nice," said David. "It's probably because it closely resembles your form as the toy you used to be."
"Well that sure explains why you are so hairy, Dad," said Truly good naturedly. "You almost look like a troll.
"For all we know, that's exactly what I could be now," said David.
"Though with these new hats, I think we have an idea of exactly what we might be," said Bow Tie.
"How come I don't have a hat," said Truly. "And Daddy, why does your necklaces say Father and Son? All the ponies the dreamer played with were all female!"
"I don't know," said David. "But the Dreamer just got a message from Wattpad as she was writing this skit, that she's nearing the end of the limitation of her images per story; so it looks like we are going to have to wait for the second book to find out."
"Aaaawwwww!" said Truly. "But we all just got started!"
"Looks like we'll have to wait for book two," said David while Bow Tie smiled patiently.
