"so hey, lavie, i'm luke, if michael didn't introduce me already. michael told me that he's talking with ashton and calum about god knows what."

"you can talk if you want to, michael seems very intrigued with you though."

"he is?"

"oh yes, he talks about you all the time to us. you're very special to him it seems like."

"i didn't know that. does he like me?" she asked, very softly, luke noticing the silence being very loud. like she was being listened in.

"are you being listened in?"

the silence answered everything and soon enough luke realized the words were muffled, but he felt that she had a tight grip on the phone.

"who were you talking to? her mom asked.

ah the mom, luke thought, let's see what happens here.

"just a friend mom." her wavering voice already trembling, luke noticed that.

"funny," her dad started, "you have no friends."

luke winced at that statment, but stayed quiet.

"yes, i do." she mumbled very quietly.

"like heck you do, i'm so glad that we are sending you away to live on the streets." her mother laughed. luke heard all of it though, and he thought that, that was so cruel, how could her own parents do that to a child.

after lavie's parents have gone away, she locked her door again, and brought her phone back out. why was she so stupid. luke heard everything though and wanted to say something.

"are you okay lavie?" he asked gently.

"no, i'm not, luke, why am i so stupid?" she asked. but luke didn't answer this time, michael did.

"you're not stupid, sweetheart."
