Prologue

"Brax! Olivia! Come on out!"

My mom was trying her best to keep us under control, but it was impossible.

I'm Jeremy, a 16 year old guy that's forced to deal with these two idiots 24/7. Sometimes I think I even hate my siblings.

But when it comes to their safety, I'll do whatever it takes.

"Jeremy! Please help me find them, we have to go!" My mom commanded.

"Ugh, I never seem to get a freaking break do I?" I fired back with my typical attitude.

"Oh stop complaining and do it!"

"Jeremy listen to your mother and do what she says." Dad said.

"Fine." I spat and ran back inside the house to find Olivia and Braxton's hiding spots.

"Olivia! Braxton! We have to go!" I yelled throughout the empty house.

I heard snickering coming from the laundry room, and I smirked and quietly made my way to the back of the house.

I could see Brax's head poking out from the door.

"I see you Brax. Come on out, we need to go!"

They eventually let up and came out of their obvious hiding places, and I grabbed them and dragged them out of the house and threw them in the car that barely fit all of us.

Mom sighed, relived. "Thanks sweetie. Everyone buckled?"

"Yep! Now hurry up mom, I'm ready to go to Disney World!" Olivia demanded.

————————

Everything was great at the time, besides Braxton constantly demanding me to look up the Oklahoma City Thunder game on my phone, but I had to pay to get it. He was in a bad mood for a while after that.

But if a six year old is already loving basketball, I didn't really have much of a problem with it.

We lived in Florida, so the drive there wasn't too terrible to Orlando. I was actually excited myself.

"Braxton leave him alone." My dad demanded while looking in the mirror.

I was about to protest when suddenly he swerved, almost throwing me out of my seat.

"Honey is everything okay?" Mom asked.

"I almost ran over somebody...he was just laying there without moving."

"Should we go back?" I asked.

A gut feeling told me no, but I didn't want to just leave him there. He could've been hurt, or worse.

"I'm not sure." My dad said, while he was thinking.

Olivia and Brax stayed quiet beside me.

We kept driving silently for a minute or so until a police car zoomed in the other direction back the way we came.

"Reckon he's heading to the man in the road?" Mom asked.

"I suppose so. I just hope nothing was wrong with him." Dad said.

I held Olivia's hand while lightly rubbing it with my fingers to calm her down. After a while I noticed her staring at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh nothing, it's just that you've never really cared enough about me to do that."

I gave her a blank stare. "What do you mean? I've always cared about you."

"Uh huh. That's a bet."

"Hey guys, guess where we are." Dad suddenly announced.

"Are we there?" Braxton asked with a ton of excitement.

"Yes we...wait what's going on?"

I looked out of the window to see a ton of ambulances in front of the gate, followed by police cars and even the military.
