So now Leonie and I have talked through video calling and texted thousands of messages. It was time to ask her for a date. I didn't really think it was an actual date and I'm sure she didn't either but looking back it definitely was.
I spend a long time trying to come up with an idea on what to do. I couldn't visit her yet that was still far away. So I came up with a different idea, cooking.
Why not cook together.
So I asked her if she wanted to cook something together. We would look up a receipt for a meal neither of us had eaten before and cook that while being in a phone call together.

I was looking for different receipts from the internet and remembered that I should probably pick one where we wouldn't have to wait forever.
I'm sure you know these kind of receipts where you put 10 things into a pan and wait 20 min and then start doing something again.
At some point I found something which I liked.
It wasn't anything crazy, just noodles with feta cheese and some tomatoes but it looked nice and so I told her about my idea and she instantly agreed.
We found a date on which we could do it but then I had to explain to my parents why I would be cooking with a girl without exposing that I was in love.
Why couldn't I tell my parents? No reason, I just didn't want to because they would make a huge deal out of it.

So I told them that it was actually supposed to be more people than just us 2 but they had to quit last second.
Yeah not really convincing and I'm sure my parents thought that as well but they didn't really mind me finding a lame excuse.

So then the day arrived and I was super excited. I wasn't nervous and I'm sure I didn't want to admit to myself that I was so excited but I was really really excited.

So when I set everything up in the kitchen I called her and it was the first time seeing her outside of her bed in a long time. I usually just saw her when we called each other before going to bed so seeing her again was incredible. She looked so good. So incredibly good and for the first time my heart was aching because I was so far from her.
That pain was soon pushed away by excitement about being able to do something with her. We started cooking and everything was well. We finished at around the same time and then we ate together.
Yes like a long distance couple we talked through over phones while eating and that's exactly what it felt like. Like two teens in a relationship, in which they truly love each other.
When I looked into her eyes that's all I saw. I saw someone enjoying themselves, eyes full of love and happiness and it was the best thing I've ever seen. The way that made me feel is just impossible to put into words. With all the pain and suffering she usually feels during that time, it was incredible. Just her smile was what I needed.

I really didn't think I was the emotional or even the romantic type, but with her it was, it was different. It felt so good and I felt at peace.
Even when things weren't looking good for me on any given day,it all seemed to go away the second I heard her voice and felt her care for me.

Really an incredible feeling.
