Chapter 19 (Part 2)

By the fire, things have calmed down slightly between the group of six. Now, Mia was singing softly, eyes closed as she concentrated on her song's lyrics. Rage and Hollow still leaned on each other, probably closer as the night got colder. Fluke's head laid on Evanz' lap, both males humming quietly to the elf's song. Even Armen was starting to lull away, yet trying his hardest to stay away. None of them noticed Drake approaching until Mia's song was over.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" He asks, grabbing the attention of the least sleepy folks.
"Well considering that Armen's practically snoring in his sleep, I think we're about to call it a night." Hollow answers, snorting when the young male mentioned slips off the hand he was leaning on.
Eyes snapped open, the shorter looks up to his ender-hybrid bro and yawns. "I-I'm not sleepy..."
His eyes slip to a close again. Drake laughs a little, rolling his eyes.
Once a child, always a child.

The elf goes over and drags the sleepy male into their tent.
"That's light's out for us, i'm kinda tired myself." She says, closing the tent's entrance and muffling the weak protests from Armen.
Evanz lets out a big yawn, patting Fluke awake. The blonde grumbles a little, but sits up. Both quietly decide to sleep in their tents now, trudging inside.
"Ay mates, we'll be hitting the hay too." Rage tells the duo and Drake, following Hollow into their tent.

And with that, it was just the hybrid and the ex-commander outside. The mage looks over to where his blonde friend sat. He was quiet, looking up at the sky through the windows of the trees that casted shadows above him. He seemed to be deep in thought, contemplating something. Drake would've dragged him in, now that everyone had decided to sleep, but decided against it. The mage did say he'd only do that if Grayson stayed up for too long. So, with a turn, Drake went into his shared tent and passed out on the spot.
------
Blazing white light glared harshly on Drake's face when he wakes up in the dreamland. Sitting up, he realizes he's atop the bed that Collin conjured up.
"I wonder.." His guardian angel could make some pretty realistic tea and scenary, surely that could be the same for this bed?
The hybrid bounces, happily surprised when it's just as bouncy as a normal bed in the Overworld. He chuckles quietly, hiding his childish joy.

How strange it is, that a near-adult man could be so entertained by a simple thing like a squishy bed. To be fair though, it's been a long time since he's been able to enjoy small things as such.

Looking around, Drake soon realizes that he's in a rather familiar room. Armen's room, at their old house, that is. He recognizes every detail, remembering when he used to come in often to ask the younger male for a midnight snack. Those were definitely the sweeter times he'll miss, the fun times, the silliness, and the sweet, blissful ignorance he and his younger brother had once.

Shaking his head, the hybrid got up from the bed. This isn't the time to think about that, right now he has to talk with Collin. It's been a couple days since his last visit, so the mage is rather eager to talk with his guardian angel.
"Collin?" He walks out of the room, ignoring his old room as he enters the kitchen. A perfectly round cake sat on the counter, decorated with a few apple slices. Drake was almost tempted to have a taste, but the thought of apples immediately withered the idea away. Ever since that faithful day, the hybrid has had an everlasting dislike for the fruit.

"Collin I know you're here, somewhere. C'mon man." He tries again, hoping for some sort of answer.
When only silence follows his words, the hybrid hears quiet sniffling upstairs. Somewhat worried yet stil cautious, Drake walks upstairs as quietly as he could. Looking in, he sees a figure looking out the broken window of the second floor. Familiar dark hair swayed when a soft gust of wist came from the broken window.
"Geez, Collin. You always were such a crybaby." The figure mumbled to himself.

"...Collin?"
The guardian angel jumped at the voice, quickly brushing his hands against his wet eyes.
"Oh god- Drake!" Collin quickly turns to his guest, who looked at him with slight concern.
"Sorry, I, ah, I forgot I invited you." He continues, smiling his usual bright, awkward smile.
The only difference was that this one wasn't as bright.
"It's okay, Collin." The mage says, coming in and closing the door behind him. "Were you.. crying?"
Collin instantly shakes his head. "No! No, no I wasn't crying!"

Bullshit.

"Collin if there's something you want to talk about and called me over for support, you know-" Drake starts, but is hushed by the guardian raising a hand.
"Drake, it's alright. I'm alright." He says, looking at him with a genuinely thankful smile.
To be honest, he already felt much better now that he's here. "I appreciate your thoughtfulness though."
The hybrid is still uncertain, but he trusts in the angel's word. "If you say so.."
The guardian angel giggles a little, putting his hand down. "But, there is a reason why I called you over."
He starts to walk back downstairs, gesturing the mage to follow. "We'll talk over some tea and cake."
The mage rolls his eyes playfully.

Geez, this guy sure has a sweettooth.

"Well of course! That's what makes me such a sweet person afterall!" Collin exclaims, cutting himself a slice.
"Haha, I forgot you could read my thoughts." Drake smiles, declining a piece and just takes the cup of tea. "Seriously though, what is with you and tea?"
The two males sat down on the stairs that led upstairs since there weren't any proper furniture to sit on and Collin was too tired to make any chairs.
"I guess it just makes me feel at peace." The guardian angel replies, taking a bite of his apple cake.

He soon pulls out a piece of paper, folded neatly into a square, and passes it to Drake. He looks at it curiously. The word "CLUE" was written in big letters, but it doesn't look like Collin's writing. Unlike Collin's neat and professional-looking handwriting, this looked more like cursive writing and seemed rather intricate.
"What's this?" The mage asks, drinking from his cup.
"Before your visit, I had invited a.. friend not too long ago." Collin explains, humming a little as he remembers the mostly pleasant event. "He's involved in this whole situation, but in a different way from us."
Drake raises an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Well, he's the reason the Crew somehow dropped into our realm, and lucky for us he provided a clue." The guardian continues, pointing at the paper the hybrid held.

"That piece of paper tells you where you can find the sacred diamonds, so you can destroy them for good."
