Chapter 1 (Part 1)
After venturing through the third level of Hell, the two heroes come across a door leading to the fourth level. Not only that, they also find Armen's old helmet.
Now hopeful, Drake and Grayson enter the door and into a stranger, much more concerning Hell.
---------
"Oof!" Grayson falls flat on a dark, hard surface after entering the weird Hell Door.
"Well, that wasn't graceful at all." He mumbles to himself, dusting his jacket.
In a few seconds, Drake joins him. Once in the other level of hell, he coughs a bit and opens his eyes slightly.
His eyes widen at the sight. "Whoa.."
Grayson looks around and reacts in a similar way, backing up slightly. "...Drake? What is this place?"
He holds himself, feeling worse than when he and Drake were in the Nether-like hell.
"I think.." Drake catches himself coughing and quickly covers his mouth. Damn, the air's so polluted he can barely breath. "Sorry, sorry. I think this is where we'll find Armen."
All around them, darkness consume what little light there is. Pitch black, for miles and miles on end, save for the huge, menacing red eyes that glare at the two with an engulfing red-hot anger. The only other noticeable thing in this Dark Hell is a huge, complex tower.
Both heroes notice the intertwining tower.
"I'm guessing that's where we're headed?" Grayson asks, pointing to the direction of the tower.
Drake nods his head. "No doubt that's the Dark Tower."
Not long before he says that, a horrific screech emerges from the top of the tower. It echoes throughout the void of hell and shakes the two. They both cover their ears until it's over, cringing at the sound.
Just as quick as it's heard, it dissipates within the thick fog above.
They both shakily pick themselves up. "And that, must be the Ur-Ghast." Drake continues, holding his head a bit.
"We shouldn't stand too long here. These eyes are giving off a pretty bad vibe." Grayson says, trying hard not to break down on the spot.
Though, to Drake's eyes, it's evident Grayson's close to freaking out and, to be honest, he's pretty close himself.
"Yeah, let's start heading in." He walks a bit before saying another thing. "Be careful though, we barely have any tools and the monsters in there are definitely not friendly."
Grayson nods and walks forward, walking alongside Drake. "Don't worry Drake, we've gone through worst things. Besides, at least you're not doing this alone, i've got your back." He says reassuingly, bumping his shoulder to Drake's.
That earns him a little chuckle and a bump back. Grayson smiles slightly; at least he can make some good out of this horrendous situation.
"Heh, yeah, that is true. Don't think I would have made it this far without you." Drake replies, smiling a bit.
The two continue to talk and joke, still very cautious about their surroundings but at least calmed down, until the reach the entrance of the Dark Tower. Drake walks closer and takes a look at what the structure's made of.
He runs a hand along the rough material. "Huh, I think this is Towerwood." He says simply.
Grayson looks at him quizzically. "And? Is that important?"
"Um, sorta? Towerwood's like the 'obsidian of wood'. It's known to be very resistant to griefing. You know, TNT explosions and all that." Drake responds, turning to look back at his companion with a shrug.
"Sooo, that's basically a massive implication that explosions will be involved." Grayson raises an eyebrow, crossing his arms.
"Hey, at least that means we won't fall off holes when they happen. At least, not until we reach the top." Drake replies, voice slightly faltering as he finishes his sentences.
Grayson chuckles a bit and stands next to Drake in front of the entrance.
"It's cool man, we got this." He says reassuringly, placing a hand on the enderman hybrid's shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah I know." Drake sighs. "Just- Stay by my side. The Dark Tower is home to alot of things we've yet to encounter."
Grayson nods, dropping his hand of his friend's shoulder. "Well, that's to be expected for us huh? But, I trust in both our skills to get through this alive!"
Drake smiles. "You know, for a mortal in Hell, i'm impressed you can act so optimistic."
The blonde shrugs playfully. "It's either this or start freaking the heck out. Now, let's go rescue our friend!"
---------
Thus our two heroes finally enter the Dark Tower, with their spirits high and hopes rekindled.
But, boy, they sure as hell weren't prepared for what happens after they defeat the Tower.
