Life is not all about give and take,
It doesn't need to be like that,
You don't always have to count your steps,
You don't always have to count the actions,

If you do something for other
Just as a favor to be returned in future,
Then please don't bother doing anything at all,
'Cause when you do something out of heart,
Without any strings attached,
There is a peace in doing it, no matter the reward,

If you want to gain a friend by doing favours,
Rather than sharing memories, experiences and living in the moment,
Then it's better to not have a friend at all,
Because you might get a friend or two who would help,
Out of indebt, but you will never find a true one in them,
They would be more like 'Friends with Benefits',
Rather than 'Friends from Heart' that lasts forever,
And most probably the former kind of friend will leave,
Leave you stranded when things go wrong,
And you will have to take the blame,
While the latter will come in front of you,
And save the day!

So if you love someone and do something for them,
Don't do it, out of greed, with an intention to take it back later,
'Cause when you do it with that intent,
Sooner or later, you will speak it up and ruin everything,
And then both of you will be hurt and realize,
None of you did anything out of heart,
Which in turn will take out all the respect you had for one another,
And once a respect is gone, it's like whatever,
You might get cold with each other,
And later you might even forget why you loved each other.
