The mysterious cloaked Mobian lady is walking upstairs to Y/N's treehouse, followed by a bunch of different kinds of Chao. She knocks on the door, and Sally, who is sitting on the couch reading a book, got up.

"I'll get it, I'll get it."

She walks to the door and opens it for the mysterious Mobian lady.

"Oh, hello there Amy. I am so glad you're watching my Chao for me."

"Uh, do I look like Amy?" Sally questioned, looking confused. "There seems to be a mistake."

"I don't have time to play your silly games, Amy. Now listen up. The Chao I'm about to give you are very special. Just be good to them and they're easy to take care of. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to attend my Chao appointment for my other 52 other Chao. Thanks again, Amy!"

She walks off, leaving her Chao with Sally. The Chao begins to fly around the room.

"Wait, I'm not Amy! Come bcck here, you- Uh..."

She looks around to find her gone..

"Huh? Where did she go? Ugh! Amy, come down here and get your Chao! Amy!"

Y/N, who heard her, walks out of the room.

"What's going on? Why are you yelling? Amy isn't here. She's working the noon shift, remember?"

She looked around and gasped to see flying Chao.

"Whoa! Where did these Chao come from?!"

"That crazy lady from down the street left these nine Chao here for her to babysit!" Sally exclaimed.

"That's odd..."

"I know, but my point is they're Amy's responsibility, and I don't know how to take care of them!"

"Huh? Um, uh, Sally, y-you said there were nine Chao, and I'm only counting eight."

Sally froze and look around.

"What?! Ugh, are you serious? One is missing! It was right here just a second ago!"

"Are you sitting on it?"

"Wha-what, what kind of question is that?! I'm not even sitting!"

"I don't know! I'm just saying!"

"We need to find that Chao. I don't want it looking for a place to pee in the treehouse."

"I don't think Chao pee..."

"...Where do we even begin looking to find Chao?"

"Um, well, Chao likes to explore places. So they could be anywhere in this treehouse. Boxes, under beds, couches, in the bookshelves between the books that aren't there, I mean, he's wearing a little sweater, so he probably is gonna be somewhere with a cooler climate somewhere in the house. At least I would hope so."

"What about these other Chao? What are we going to do with them?"

"Heh, I mean, they haven't run off and tried to hide, so we can probably just leave them all here, I guess."

"Ugh... put them all in your room."

"What?! My room?! Heh, why not your room?! You're responsible for them!"

"Your room is bigger, the Chao would probably like it there better."

"Okay, first off Sally, Kirby's in my room, and he's not or has been, never has been a bigger fan of Chao, okay? I'm afraid they'll mess up my room."

"Then they can mess up on your Anime posters. And you're a liar. Kirby loves Chao. Let's just get looking for that Chao."

Sally then went off to find the other Chao.

"No- oh, Sally. What am I going to do with you? I just, ugh. Anyway, okay Chao, hi! I know Sally didn't say anything to you guys, but, you're all good Chao, right? Aww, you can take care of yourselves?"

"Chao chao!"

"Hehe! You'll all be good cats, and stay right here, right? All of you?

"Chao!"

"Hehe! Aww, I knew I could count on you guys to be good. Plus, I just have to say, lemme lemme be the first to say, because I know Sally didn't say anything. Yeah, I see- you look at me over there. I know Sally didn't say anything, but your sweaters are absolutely adorable, and you're all good Chao for keeping them on."

"Thank you~"

"Hehe! Oh, well you're welcome! Hehe! Aww. Okay, well, I gotta start looking for that ninth Chao. I don't even know what it looks like so I don't even know how he's gonna- wait. Did that Chao just talk to me? Uh..." Y/N stopped, looking at the Chao to see if she's hearing it right.

"Chao chao!"

"Okay... I must be imagining things. Uh, heh. Okay, whew, that was weird. Let's see it seems like Sally has the bottom floor covered, so I should start searching the top floor. I'm on it.

She walks upstairs.

"Okay, let's see, where to start. I could start with my room first, so let's go over here. Mkay, it doesn't look like there's any Chao here."

She goes into her room where Kirby is sitting on the bed and to her bathroom.

"There's none inside- I don't know why they would be here- why- would the kitties be in the water? No I don't think so, I don't think they would be in the water. Um, so let's see, aww, Kirby, oh look at you, you're so cute! We're going to cuddle later, okay? Alright? Aww, I love you so much."

"Pooteetah! 🖤"

"Okay." Y/N cleared her throat, turning to her Katsuki Bakugo poster. "I also love you too. Ahem! Sorry, uh, let's see, um, let me think. Little Chao, little Chao, little Chao. Nothing under the bed, nothing over there, in my closet? No. My closet looks so barren, I gotta start working on making up my wardrobe. I only brought a few clothes and they're all in those boxes still so, gotta be working on that. Uh, alright, since there's no Chao in my room, let me go check Sally and uh Amy's room. Bunnie is most likely sleeping or talking on a phone with Antoine. Let's see, Sally's room..."

She walks into Sally's room.

"Okay, nothing, no cats here, no cats anywhere."

She opens Sally's closet with the BTS poster and laughs.

"Oh, Sally, Sally, Sally. I swear, if you try to pawn off the responsibility of the Chao on me, I'm telling everyone your secret about what you've got in your closet. Alright, Amy's room."

She goes into Amy's room.

"I'm a little afraid to go in here, I feel like I'm gonna find something I shouldn't. Okay, nothing too out of the ordinary, no Chao here, no Chao under her bed, under her desk."

She takes a deep breath before she opens Amy's closet, nothing is in them.

"Okay. Okay good. Phew, alright, there's no Chao in here. It's time to go downstairs."

She exhales heavily again.

"Oh my gosh, Heh, okay. Leaving that alone, not going in her room ever again."

She goes downstairs and notices Sally is there.

"Huh?"

"Y/N! WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER CHAO!?"

"I trusted them! Oh my Chaos, what?!"

"ALL THE CHAO ARE MISSING AND WE STILL HAVEN'T FOUND THE LAST CHAO!"

"T-T-This isn't good. Sally, have you checked the basement? You should-"

"Not yet, darn it! I don't want them to get hurt... Fine, you go and check the basement and I'll go check the outside."

"Alright... Here, little Chao, Chao! Here Chao! Be somewhere, where I can, like, find you!"

No response from any Chao as she look everywhere in the basement.

"Well, that's every place in the treehouse, where the heck could all those Chao have gone to? Agh, I swear, there's so many of them! We should've seen them by now!"

She hears Kirby shouting.

"I- Kirby? Kirby! Kirby, are you okay?"

She walks into her room to see all nine Chao gathered around the bed that Kirby is on.

"Uh, huh what's- w-what's this?"

"This is a strange creature we have ever seen!" One of the Chao said with clear English.

"Are these Chao talking?!" Y/N exclaimed, eyes wide.

"This person is an alien lover!"

"This is a catastrophe!"

"Y-Y What?!" she stuttered.

"We must teach her the ways of loving Chao!"

"Let me near my Kirby!" she demanded.

"I like potatoes!"

"U-uh..."

She sees a Chao that just walked into the room, making her scream.

"AH!"

"Good day to you hedgehog lady."

"U-uh, heh, uh, you guys can talk. What's going on?!"

"Do not be startled. Though I know it's highly improbable for you to not be, seeing and hearing a talking Chao, but allow me to introduce myself and my comrades in sweaters. Ahem. We are the nine very special Chao of the Mysterious Cloaked Lady. Behind you are my comrades, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Donner, and Blitzen."

"Heheheh! Let me guess, is your name Rudolph?" she joked.

"No. My name is Randy."

"Oh. Uh, well I wasn't expecting that. Heheh. Um, what do you want from me?"

"Well at first we were going to just be normal Chao in sweaters that only know says Chao, but now that we see you have a strange aline fellow and lack a Chao in the house we must show you the ways of the Chao."

"Wait, what, what?!"

"You must experience what it's like to BE a Chao, and now... POOF!"

Y/N turns into a light blue hedgehog like Chao.

"W-what did you‒ what did you do to me?!"

"Don't worry hedgehog lady, you will turn back to normal in due time. When you learn to spread Christmas Chao Cheer only then will you turn back to normal."

"W-w-why am I like a mini-version of myself? Won't they recognize me?"

"It makes you stand out more, plus you look cute. Your friends won't recognize you or look at you as a normal Chao and be instantly attracted to you. Then you'll know how it feels to be a friend with a Mobian just like Cream, Cheese, and Chocola."

"Uh, heh, this has to be a dream."

"Then you'll be a Chao forever. Trust me this is very much real. Our agenda is simply to make people appreciate their Chao more. Now, once you bring Christmas Chao Cheer to someone you will instantly turn back into a Mobian. Good luck, it's never easy on the first try for most Mobians."

With that, Randy joins in the crowd of Chao as they look around her room.

"Bu- d- what? K-Kirby, Kirby, I need help!"

"Y/N!? You're a Chao!? HOLY SMOKES THAT MEANS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME!" Kirby exclaimed in full English.

"Am I dreaming?"

"I don't think so... If you're dreaming does that mean I'm dreaming? OKAY THEN I WANT THESE CHAO TO TURN INTO CANDIES NOW! ... Hm, I guess this isn't a dream." Kirby said, looking at the flying Chao.

"I- Oh my Chaos." Y/N whispered, still shocked that this is happening.

"Chaos? Who is that? Is that a kind of food? OH! While I can talk to you, for Christmas can I get a yo-yo? Those look like fun!"

"Heh, aww, Kirby! You'll get your Christmas present later on. Can't tell you what I'll get you though. Okay, um, I gotta get out of here, I gotta- if I gotta spread Christmas cheer to somebody, then-"

She sees Sally walks by and flies over to her.

"Sally! Hey, Sally! Hey, chao-chao!"

"GAH! WHAT!? A LIGHT BLUE HEDGEHOG CHAO!?!?!" Sally shrieked.

"Sally thank goodness I need to make you happy. I have no idea how to do that, so can you...?" Y/N said, not knowing Sally can't understand her.

"OUT! OUT! SHOO! I HAVE ENOUGH ISSUES WITH THE OTHER CHAO!"

Sally begins to swat the Chao away.

"No! No! Leave me alone! Ah, ah, Sally! No, I'm a good Chao, I swear! I promise! It's- what is she doing to me?!"

She gets hit by a broom.

"AH!"

She flies out the door crying.

"Sally! Sally! Wahh!!"

Sally closes the door, not realizing that she just kicked Y/N out of her own treehouse.

"This isn't a dream, because it hurt when she hit me. Ow. Uh, at least it was a light tap. Ugh, she was helpful. Okay, I have to bring joy to- Ah! It's so cold."

She goes to a place with less snow.

"Okay, I have to bring joy to one person as a Chao. Oh, wait! I'm so dumb! Pft! Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles! All I have to do is go over and do some cute things. Haha! I got this! This is going to be easy! Okay, alright, cute things. Gotta think cute thoughts, cute things, and I should be good. I got this, I got this, I got this."

She gets to Sonic's front door where there isn't any snow.

"Okay, ah, that's better. Alright, uh..."

She flies over and rings the doorbell.

"Mm, come on! Come on! Answer the door answer the door answer the door!"

Knuckles opens the door.

"Hi!" Y/N waved.

"...a light blue hedgehog Chao?"

"Yes, shocking, I know. Now let me be cute. Chao-chao! Chao!"

"What are you doing out in the cold snow? Come on in."

"Yes, thank you, Knuckles!"

Y/N the Chao goes in and sits on a chair and the boys started talking in the living room as soon as Knuckles told them what he saw.

"It's a natural light blue hedgehog Chao."

"Maybe it's a genetic mutation." Tails gussed.

"Did it come with that little sweater too? That's kind of cute. Are we going to keep it?" Sonic asked.

"I was thinking it might have an owner because of the sweater. If the owner passes by, it'll recognize it. Hmm, maybe we should give it to the Mysterious Lady down the street that was just passing by a while ago." Knuckles said.

"Um... I don't think so. We are not giving it to that crazy lady down the street! She has too many Chao and she doesn't care for 'em properly." Tails shook his head.

"Why don't we see if sis wants the Chao? She likes Chao and the color light blue. Though, that Chao reminds me of her too." Sonic suggested.

"She's got Kirby already." Knuckles said.

"Right. Well, I guess we can keep the Chao." Tails said.

"Right. Hey bud, we're going to keep you, girl. Uh, where did she go?"

Knuckles turned to see Y/N is gone. Sonic and Tails noticed it and looked around.

"Strange. Maybe she found someone already. Chao can be good at finding." Tails stated.

"Aww, man! I wanted to have a Chao for once!" Sonic pouted.

"I hope she finds home safely." Knuckles said, looking to where Y/N would have gone.

Y/N had gone off into room and opened someone's bedroom window and escaping through it as she glided away.

"Oh my gosh, those guys didn't even give me a chance to be cute! They were busy talking and it's getting tiring! Ugh! Why is it so hard to be a Chao?! I could only say 'chao-chao'."

She stops nearby to catch a breath when Eclipse is walking by and sees Y/N.

"A light blue hedgehog Chao?"

Y/N jumped in surprise to see him.

"AH! E-Eclipse?"

"What are you doing out in the snow alone?"

"Well, I could ask you the same thing, but I don't really care."

"If you want, you can follow me. There's warm food at my place."

"Huh? I-is he being nice? I mean, I don't have any other options. Sally kicked me out of the treehouse, and if I go back to those guys, well, ugh I don't want to think about it. Alright, what's the worst that could happen?"

Eclipse walks off to his house, and Y/N follows. Once they head inside his house, where the TV is playing "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", Eclipse begins to feed her with some good food she had never tried before. He even introduce her to his Dark Arms, who were curious about her. They had quite an interesting moments until he and Y/N are on the couch.

"Feel better?" he asked.

"Heheh, yeah! I mean, ugh. 'Chao!'"

"I'll take that as a yes. You know, a Chao has never followed me home like that before. Mostly because I'm the scary monster. I was honestly joking with you a first, but, well, yeah."

"Oh, so it was a joke. Heh. I see how it is."

"You know, I never have my own Chao before. They usually don't like me. I mean, I don't mind my Dark Arms, but I wouldn't mind another pal."

"Eclipse..."

"Welp, the door is that way." Eclipse said, gesturing her to the door.

"What?"

Y/N looked at him with slight surprise.

"I'm sure you have an owner somewhere who's worried about you. Go on."

"He-he's letting me go? Uh, Eclipse, you've been really nice lately. I wish there was something I could do to show him my gratitude, aside from Chao-chao. Uh wait, there is! This dumb sweater!"

She takes it off somehow and and gives it to Eclipse. It magically transforms into a Mobian size sweater that would fit him.

"Huh? How did you take that thing off? You're giving it to me?" he asked.

"No, this Chao is actually asking you to wash the sweater. Of course, yes, duh, it's yours."

"I've never gotten a gift from someone who wasn't family. Uh, but I guess you don't count as a someone, right Chao?"

She noticed Eclipse is about to burst into tears.

"Huh? Is he actually tearing up?"

"Th-thanks." he sniffed.

"Heheh, you're welcome, Eclipse."

Suddenly, the light brightens up and she transforms into her normal hedgehog self. Eclipse stood up from his couch in shock.

"You! What the- is this some kind of prank?!"

Y/N smiled at him nervously, rubbing her arm in discomfort.

"Uh, hahaha, g-gotta go, bye!"

She opens his window, jumps off with a flip, lands on the ground safely, and runs home. Eclipse ran over to his window as the Dark Arms came over to see what was the commotion about and were shocked to see her as she keeps running.

"Hey! Come back!"

Eclipse looks at the Santa sweater she had given him earlier and puts it on, slightly blushing.
