In the treehouse, Y/N sobbed into her pillow as she's in her locked room with Kirby by her side, who tried to comfort her.

"Pooteetah, pooteetah." he said, showing her his fighting move as if telling her to never give up and fight back.

Meaning he wants her to go after Eclipse and the Dark Arms while she still can.

"No, Kirby... Don't you see? The show's cancelled! Eclipse's arrested and he's probably gone already! And it's all my fault!"

Y/N sobbed back into her pillow. Kirby watched on sadly and decided to walk out of her room to give her some space.

Y/N stopped crying and looked out the window as the sky is grey and raining. She begins to sing.

"I have to find a way
To make this all okay
I can't believe this small mistake
Could've caused so much heartache"

Meanwhile, Tails is trying to fix the machine he was building earlier, but it ended up crashing down. He looks down with a sigh.

"Oh why, oh why?"

Shadow walks down the path, looking depressed and regretful as the rain wets his entire fur, but he couldn't care less. He glances at the townspeople, who gave him glares as some shut their windows, doors, and shops to keep him out of their site. Shadow sighs and resumes his walking. Rouge and Omega, who're holding their umbrellas up, watches him with concern.

"Something is wrong, it's plain to see
This isn't how it's meant to be
And you can't see it like I do
It's not the life that's meant for you

Sonic watches sadly as he looks at the happy couple with their wedding rings on. He glances at his case that holds the ring inside and looks down. He notices Sally sitting on the bench as she was looking gloomy and depressed. He approaches her and holds up the umbrella to cover her from the rain that's been soaking her fur. She smiles softly as he sat down next to her to comfort her.

Rotor is standing in front of what's supposed to be a rehearsal as he sadly barricaded the windows with the help of Bunny and Antoine as they locked the door. Freddy and the gang are surrounded by the fans as they're bombarded with questions and concerns, but they're too sad and depressed to speak as they walk away from them and back to their house car.

"Losing promise
I don't know what to do
Seeking answers
I fear I won't get through to you"

Geoffrey tried to find a job, but they all ignore him and didn't accept him, not after what he had done. After hours of job searching, he begrudgingly have to take the job at the bar as it's the only place to work there as he got started on cleaning the glass cups after being hired.

Lastly, Cream is sitting in the empty fountain with Cheese and Chocola as they watched the sad, gloomy Mobian citizens walk past by. Some accidentally bump into each other and began an argument, scaring them.

"I'll try

As soon as Y/N finishes singing, she lies back down in her bed and covers herself with a blanket. Kirby sighs in defeat, thinking there's nothing that can do to make her happy again. Suddenly, the door was knocked, surprising him. He cautiously walks up to the door and jumps and unlocks the door. He pulls it open to reveal a black-hooded stranger. They gazes down blankly at the three-eyed alien, who gulps.

"Is Y/N in here? I'd like to speak with her."

Kirby slowly points to Y/N's room after thinking this through, seeing no harm or ill intent from this stranger.

"Thank you."

They head inside and closed the door behind them, heading straight towards her room. They knock on the door. No answer. They knock again a little louder this time. All they received is nothing. Concerned, they slowly open the door and saw her figure underneath the blanket. They approached her and stood over her.

"...What do you want?" Y/N mumbled through the blanket, unmoving.

"I came to talk to you."

"Well, here I am. Spill."

They shook their head at her remark.

"I'm sorry about your friend. He means something to you."

"He was everything. He may be different, but I see no monster on the inside and outside. He deserves happiness. But now it's all ruined because of me..."

"I don't think it is your fault."

"How would you know?"

They gently remove the blanket from her so they could see her face. Y/N glances up at the hooded stranger, wondering who they are. She can't see their face since it's completely covered. But she could've sworn she knows them from somewhere.

"I just know. All you have to do is listen to your heart. They will guide you."

They begin to sing, stroking her quills affectionately.

As they sing, Y/N closes her eyes as she listens. This made her think that they're right. What is she doing? Sitting here in the room all depressed over the loss? She's supposed to be a hero who never gives up! She needs to do something! Eclipse may have told her to never come back and save him, but she's going to whether he likes it or not. She will save him and the Dark Arms! Once they were done singing, she opens her eyes to see the hooded stranger already walking away. She could tell that they're satisfied, seeing that she had already listened to her heart. Y/N was about to ask them who they are when they're already gone in a blink of an eye.

Kirby looks to where they had gone before facing Y/N. Y/N glances at the pictures of herself and Eclipse along with her friends. Glaring in determination, she knew what she needed to do.

"Kirby, pack your things. We're going to G.U.N. headquarters."

Kirby's eyes widened in shock before jumping up with joy.

"Pooteetah!"

She grabs her things and weapons, putting on her combat outfit as Kirby puts on his ninja outfit. Y/N slams the door open and sees the rain has stopped. She closes the door after Kirby comes out and locks the door. Kirby hops onto her shoulder as she summons her pegasus unicorn. She hops on and soon takes off without looking back. On the door, the paper was attached to it with the words "Sorry! Out to save my friend!"

Behind the treehouse, the hooded stranger is leaning against the tree bark, watching where she had gone and smiled.

"Good luck, Y/N. I'll see you soon."

Meanwhile, in the G.U.N. headquarters, there in the glass prison as it's unbreakable to get out of is Eclipse as he sat there, staring at the wall with a blank expression. On the otherside are the Dark Arms as they're curled up with each other sleeping soundly. Shadow and Commander are watching Eclipse, wondering what he's up to. Eclipse's back was facing them as he never bothered looking back, knowing who they are.

"So, you're not going to speak? I'm going to ask you one more time. Are there more monsters like you or is it just you?" Commander demanded.

"...I already told you. It's only me and my Dark Arms."

"Just wanted to make sure. We can't risk having more people get hurt. What did you do to get Ms. Y/N to cover you?"

Eclipse scowled that he's assuming him that he just threatened Y/N when he didn't.

"I didn't do anything. She just wanted to help me. It was her choice, not mine."

Shadow scowled and stepped forward, not believing this.

"Lies. What was your intent with her? Have you mind controlled her? Did you hurt her? Oh, wait. You did."

"One, I never meant to. Two, would I have made her cover for me if she wasn't threatened? Would I ever do this?"

Eclipse demonstrated by giving a harsh scratch to the wall beside him.

"No. Plus, she actually captured me."

Commander scoffed at that.

"So she knew, but never bothered telling anyone? Is she now a monster too? I wouldn't expect someone like her to actually care for some people like you when they're nothing. She's a fool to think anyone deserve a chance when they don't. What a naive girl."

This made Shadow angry that he would insult her like that. Before he could speak, Eclipse beat him to it as he snap and angrily turn around and slam his fists against the glass with a loud thud, catching them off-guard.

"DON'T YOU DARE TALK ABOUT HER LIKE THAT!! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ME OR HER! SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO SYMPATHIZE ONE ANOTHER! YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOU'RE JUST AFRAID! I BET YOU DON'T HAVE A FAMILY AND DECIDED TO DESTROY SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE BY TAKING AWAY SOMEONE THEY LOVE AND CARE FOR, HUH?!"

This left Commander shocked at his sudden outburst. And for the first time, he looks... sad and guilty at the reminder of that. He went silent after that. Shadow though, knew what Eclipse mean by that, but he never expected him to act like this. Has Y/N really changed him? Just like how she changed Shadow of his wrongdoings? Commander angrily pressed the button of the remote he was holding, causing Eclipse to get electrified.

"GAAAH!!!"

This went on for a minute until Commander stopped pushing the button. Eclipse huffs and puffs at the pain he had endured, clutching onto his body.

"Our meeting is over. Shadow, you're on guard duty."

"Yes, sir."

Commander then walked away without another word, leaving Shadow to deal with his enemy. He stares blankly at Eclipse, who's now recovered and sat up.

"Will you stop staring at me? It's getting creepy."

"...Is it true that Y/N actually helped you? Why?"

"Yes. Why would I lie? She was kind to me and my Dark Arms. I bet she was kind to you as well."

Shadow looked down in silent, showing that Eclipse is right.

"Whelp. You blew it, man."

"I know..."

"It's a mess. You must feel horrible. You've lost your only friend that understands you."

"Thank you for summing that up." Shadow sarcastically said, rolling his eyes.

Eclipse smirked at that. He then began to sigh.

"Though I wonder... why couldn't she turn me in when she found me barging into her house? Would have been better for everyone?"

"Yup. The rest of you us would have done it. So why didn't she then?" Shadow asked.

"Why is this important to you all of a sudden?"

"Because I wanted to remember what you say, right now. I wanted to know what she sees in you. She must have done something. You and I are almost alike because we have one person to protect. Y/N."

Eclipse went silent for a moment as he glanced at the photo in his hand. It was slightly damaged from the electric shock, but it's still in one place. He then looks back at Shadow.

"She told me this once. She wouldn't turn me in because I looked as frightened, confused, sad, and angry as you were. Just like everyone else, including herself."

Shadow was surprised by that.

"Yeah, she mentioned you. She looked at me and she saw herself. Just as I looked at her and I saw myself too."

He couldn't believe what he was hearing. All because Eclipse reminded her of himself? It's true that they're both created to become an ultimate lifeform and are tasked to do one thing. Destroy everything that comes in their way. But that's when Y/N came in and had changed their mind about the world being so beautiful, full of life, love, friendship, family, and so much more they've never discovered for themselves. Without another word, Shadow walks away from Eclipse.

"We're done here."

"Word of advice? Try and make it up with Y/N before it's too late. I may not be around for any longer."

The black hedgehog stopped for a second before he went back to walking, taking in Eclipse's words for it.
