Y/N is kneeling in a dark room, quietly giggling. Kirby who's next to her covered his mouth to prevent the giggles to be heard. Y/N looked out the window to see Elias walking towards the door with Sonic.

"...So you can see why my father approved the metal Sonic troopers." Elias said.

"Yeah, I'll buy it. But your old man should've known that a little doomsday weapon can't stop me." Sonic said.

"Duly noted."

"Can you promise me that's the last 'brilliant idea' you royals come up with?"

"Sally and I have just one more left."

Tails come up and opened the door with an excited smile as Elias and Sonic stepped inside.

"Oh yeah? You're not nixing the Great Oak Slide, are you?"

"The exact opposite, Sonic."

The lights turned on as Y/N, Kirby, Cream, Cheese, and the Freedom Fighters all standing in Freedom HQ. It was decorated with balloons, streamers, and a big banner with the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC".

"Happy Birthday!" Tails cheered.

"Happy Birthday, Mr. Sonic." Cream smiled.

"Chao chao!" Cheese smiled.

"Surprise, bro!" Y/N held her hands up in the air with a biggest closed eye smile.

"Pooteetah, pooteetah!" Kirby jumped up and down in happiness.

Sally went up to Sonic and wrapped her arms around him and kissed him on the cheek. Amy looked at them with jealousy.

"Happy birthday, Sonic."

Sonic blushed and looked around the cave.

"Wow! Thanks, you guys!"

"You deserve it, Sonic." Elias said.

"Especially after everything you and your sister done for the kingdom as well as the universe." Sally added.

"Thanks, Sal."

Sonic kissed her back on the cheek. Y/N brought out a chocolate cake with blue frosting of Sonic's face on it and a blue candle.

"That looks good." Sonic said.

"Before you eat it, make a wish on this candle." Y/N said.

Sonic smiled and closed his eyes for a sec as he's thinking. After he concluded what he really wished for, he blew out the candle.

"What did you wish for, bro?"

"Nope. I ain't telling you, sis."

"Not even me." Sally said with a teased smile.

"Sorry. You'll see what I wished for one day."

"Okay, Sonic."

"So, Blue... How old are you now?" Fiona asked, coming over next to Y/N.

"Let's call me a teen from now still. You're next now, sis."

"I'll gladly wait for my birthday surprise."

Suddenly, the wall exploded and Sonic stood in front of Sally protectively. The wooden door was broke down to reveal Bark the Polar Bear and Bean the Dynamite Duck who's holding out a bomb as he starts singing.

"Happy Birthday, Sonic!

You can thank Robotnik!

He hired us to blast you!

Something that ends in-ick!"

"Here comes your birthday spankings!"

Bean throw out bombs towards Sonic who quickly jumped away.

"Aaw! Eggman shouldn't have! It's sweet that he remembered tho'!"

He dodged the punch from Bark and pinned the fist to the floor.

"With Nack in jail, I guess he had to shop for new thugs. You look like quite the fighter!"

Bean starts throwing bombs at everyone like a confetti while Cream and Cheese ran for cover as Kirby came over next to them with a big plate of chocolate cake he struggled to hold on until Cream helped him out.

"And one for you! And one for you! And one for you!"

Bark broke the rest of the Great Oak slide.

"Hey! Don't trash the Greak Oak sl-OOF!"

Y/N charged Bark as he brought up his fist. She threw her katana towards him which he quickly dodged it as the katana flew back to her and spin and kicked him straight in the snout. Bark silently grunted in pain and growled at her. He goes to punch her to the ground when Y/N jumped over his fist and rapidly punched his face all over, pushing him. She back flipped herself over to the wall as she quickly gave it a land like a spider and jumped back at Bark and kicked him again, making him fall to the floor. Bark goes to stand up when the katana blade was pointed near his neck, causing him to stop. He glared at her and didn't bother to move showing that he gave up. But that doesn't stop Y/N from pointing her blade at him, just in case for another funny move.

Meanwhile, Sonic was dealing with Bean when Bean starts pecking him on the head. Fiona reached for the silver keys and crossed her fingers

"I hope this still works..."

She turned to Bean and held out the silver keys in the air.

"Hey, Bean! See the shinies? You want the shiny keys?"

Bean turned to her with an excited smile.

"Shiny?!"

"Go get 'em!"

Fiona threw the silver keys towards the window. Bean runs after it.

"Shinies!!!"

"Nice move, Fiona, but how do you know...?" Sonic said.

"Er... Hold that thought, Sonic."

Fiona comes over to Bark who's being held to the ground by Y/N.

"I'm glad you're still reasonable, Bark."

Sally turned to Fiona, looking unhappy and pointed at her.

"You have a lot of explaining to do, Fiona!"

Fiona wrapped herself around in discomfort.

"Sorry for helping. Go, team."

"That's not the point. How do you know these two?"

"Look I... I've have a checkered past, okay? I haven't always been a Freedom Fighter."

Y/N walks over to Fiona as Antoine deals with Bark while she puts her katana away.

"Please, don't blame her, Sally. I kinda knew and she told me everything. But she's at least trying. Give her a chance."

"I agree with sis right there. You're a welcome part of the team, Fiona. Shouldn't we go lookin for Bean?"

"No need."

They turned to see Shadow holding the unconscious Bean over his shoulder.

"Happy birthday, Sonic. I cleaned your yard for you."

"Shadow."

Shadow gave Y/N a smile.

"So what's the occasion, Faker? As you can see, my dance card is full." Sonic asked.

"I did not come to fight, Blue. I came to thank you."

Y/N noticed Fiona is leaning against the wall with a sadden look and grabbed the cup of juice that was filled earlier before Bark and Bean crashed the party. She walked over to Fiona and held out a cup. Fiona looked at her in surprise who just gave her a smile. Fiona eventually took it with a thankful smile and gave Y/N a kiss on the cheek, causing her to blush.

"Thank me?"

"Without you and Y/N, the Metal Sonic troops would've killed Hope. You two were there for her when I should have been. So... thank you."

Sonic and Shadow shook hands.

"Know that this changes nothing. For the moment, I work with Dr. Robotnik, and we are enemies."

"It'd be boring otherwise. Feel free to get a clue and quit Eggman any time, though."

"Worried?" Shadow smirked.

"You wish, Faker." Sonic smirked.

"But I do." Y/N said, coming in between them.

"Of course you would worry him..." Sonic sighed.

"I'm glad you are, gorgeous." Shadow smirked at her flirtatiously.

Y/N blushed and nervously chuckled.

"Has anybody seen Bean lately?" Bunnie asked, noticing someone is missing.

"He's in the Brain Trust's room... and he has Dr. Robotnik on the line!" Rotor exclaimed, pointing at the computer room where Bean is sitting.

"...And so, yeah, we got beat. Just thought I'd let you know." Bean said.

"Never trust a Mobian to do a robot's job. You're fired. I'm sending one of my own to finished to job!" Eggman shouted in anger through the screen.

"Bean? Go sit with Bark." Fiona scolded him, pointing at the door.

"Aww..."

Bean slumped and left the room.

"What are you sending now, Eggman? Your newest toys broke easily." Sonic said.

"I'm launching it now, Sonic. Happy birthday! Mwahahaha!"

The screen then shut down.

"Launch? Incoming missile?"

"No, some kind of one-way transport..." Rotor said, tapping on the keyboard.

A loud thud was heard from outside as the room shook a bit.

"That was fast."

They all ran outside to find a giant metal egg. Cream, Cheese, and Kirby stayed inside.

"Who wants to bet he sent his egg piñata of doom?"

The metal egg started to open.

"WORSE THAN THAT, SONIC! ALONE, WE WERE THREATS. COMBINED, WE ARE A NIGHTMARE! TREMBLE IN FEAR AT THE TERROR OF CROCTOBOT!"

It revealed a giant robot green crocodile and the head of a purple octopus with orange tentacles.

"SONIC AND Y/N THE HEDGEHOGS, YOUR DOOM COMES AT THE HANDS AND TENTACLES OF... CROCTOBOT!"

Instead of being afraid, Sonic burst out laughing and Y/N cover her mouth to stop her laugh.

"Bwahahaha! No! Stop! Time-out! Lamest-- Badnik-- Ever!"

"HEY! I'M TERRIFYING!" Croctobot shouted.

Sonic collapse on the ground still laughing. Y/N tried to calm him down, but ended up laughing.

"No way! I beat both of you back in the day!" Tails shouted, glaring at the giant robot.

"YOU WILL FEAR ME!"

Croctobot smashed its tentacles to the ground, but Tails quickly picked up Sonic and flew away and Y/N quickly caught on and jumped away.

"Whoa! Come on, Sonic, get a grip!"

"Yeah! This is no time to laugh at a time like this! Although, it is funny..." Y/N said, giggling a little.

"Hee hee hee! Okay, okay, claws and tentacles! Haw!!!" Sonic laughed.

As soon as Sonic calmed down, he jumped into action and attacked Croctobot by spin dashing. Y/N activated her ruby power she had been practicing with since the Neo Metal Sonics incident and slashed the robot in the chest with her katana, making it go down. Suddenly, a green bright light appeared out of nowhere far ahead.

"Oh-- Now what?" Sonic asked.

"What's that? Somehow it's familiar..." Y/N said, seeing her ruby necklace acting up.

"Is that... Chaos Control?" Shadow asked.

From the green light, it showed Rouge and standing next to her was a green hedgehog with blue eyes, and twin scars on his chest. He wears a black leather jacket with orange flames on his sleeves, red sunglasses, and black and green boots. Y/N squinted her eyes to see that he also has sharp teeth like a shark when he grins.

"Rouge!!" Sonic and Y/N exclaimed.

"And... um..." Sonic continued.

"Evil Sonic? Anti-Sonic? Old news. The new hotness is a real Scourge."

"Anti-Sonic? There's more Sonic in other dimensions??" Y/N thought in wonder. "Even me??"

"Some fur-dye and a new jacket make you tough?" Sonic asked.

"A sampling of the Master Emerald makes all the difference." Rouge informed.

"Dude. Knuckles won't like that."

"I'll handle him the same as his old man." Scourge said.

"He what?! How dare he?! Who does he think he is??" Y/N thought, glaring at the green hedgehog.

"I happen to like Knux's dad. I'll stomp you on his behalf."

"Bring it on, punk."

Y/N had enough and stepped forward in front of Sonic, blocking Scourge's view.

"If you want my brother, you're gonna have to go through me!"

"Sis no!"

Scourge was shocked for a moment, studied her features and smirked.

"Well, well, who's this hotie here, blue? You never told me you had a sister." he purred.

Before Sonic could say anything, Y/N beat him to it.

"That's nunya business, Scourge! But there's one thing I hate is you harming my brother!" she glared, pointing at him threatenly with her whip.

"Ooh~ Trying to be kinky, eh? I like it~"

"What?! No, this is meant to harm you!" she yelled face all red.

"I've had enoug-" Shadow started, not liking Scourge flirting with Y/N.

Suddenly, four tentacles wrapped around each of the four hedgehogs.

"HOLD ON, BLAST IT! I STILL FUNCTION!"

Croctobot turned to Shadow.

"YOU'RE DOING NOTHING TO HELP, SHADOW! I SHALL REPORT YOU AS A TRAITOR TO DR. ROBOTNIK!"

"No, you won't." Shadow said.

"He's not someone's pawn you need to control!" Y/N growled, making Shadow smile.

"Quick truce to finish this up?" Sonic asked Scourge.

"Works for me."

With that, all four hedgehogs work together by spin dashing, destroying Croctobot completely.

"NOOOOO!"

All four landed perfectly with dramatic entrance.

"Record time! Nice work, Sis, Faker!" Sonic cheered.

"Yeah, we did!" Y/N cheered.

"Hmph!" Shadow smirked.

"Now then..."

Y/N turned a little too late to see Scourge punch Sonic in the face.

"...the reason we're all here!"

"Urgh! Cheap shot!"

"Sonic!"

Scourge and Sonic raced around the group until Scourge managed to kick Sonic to the ground.

"Guh!"

"Ha! At last! Eat turf, Blue!"

Shadow grabbed the back of Scourge's jacket.

"Enough. I have a question..."

"You want a piece of this, too, Stripes?"

Scourge flipped Shadow over his shoulder. Shadow got up with a glare.

"Grave mistake!"

Shadow and Scourge started chasing and hitting each other by spin dashing while avoiding Freedom Fighters that are getting caught in the middle. Sonic then joined in, but ended up crashing into Shadow and they fall off. Scourge landed with a huff.

"Ha! Tolja... I'd..."

Tails cut him off and punched him down to the ground.

"Go down, already!"

Fiona joined in.

"We've stood by long enough!"

"Get him!" Bunnie ordered.

Rouge kicked Fiona off before she could go near Scourge.

"Hey!!"

"Huh?"

Rouge turned only to be met by the giant fist whip in the face and got knocked away. Y/N stood in front of Fiona protectively, glaring at Rouge and making Fiona blush. She turned to Fiona and helped her up.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. Thanks."

Y/N turned to Scourge who held Tails in the air by the neck. She charged him and kicked him straight in the stomach, causing him to let go of Tails.

"Y/N!" Tails exclaimed.

"You just crossed the line for hurting my friends!" Y/N growled, gripping her giant fist whip tight as it punched the ground in the process, leaving a huge dent.

Scourge gulped a little, but ended up grinning at her.

"Feisty, eh? I like that. You're cute when you're mad and surprisingly strong."

"You wanna dance? Let's dance!"

"Gladly, sweetheart."

Scourge and Y/N charged each other as Y/N threw the giant fist at him. He dodged it and started spin dashing. Y/N activated her ruby power and held him there as he kept on spinning. Scourge was surprised that she caught him with no pain. She then did what Knuckles did to Shadow and threw him towards the rocky wall with a loud crash.

"Wow! I'm impressed! You really caught me off guard!" Scourge grinned and got up.

Y/N scowled and charged him in speed using her rocket roller skates. Scourge sped off and started racing with her. Sonic and the others watch as the battle went on. Dodge after dodge and kick after kick, Scourge managed to trip her by kicking her leg. Just as she was about to fall, Scourge caught her by wrapping his arm around her waist.

"Gotta say, you are one interesting girl I've ever met. Your name is Y/N, right? Nice to meet you." he flirted.

Y/N blushed, causing Sonic to glare in anger and Shadow, Tails, Fiona, and Rouge to glare in jealousy. Rouge got up.

"Okay, you've had your fun. We're out of here."

Scourge gave Y/N a smirk and a wink before releasing her and grabbed Rouge's hand and sped off into the Great Forest.

"Hurry and teleport us back to Angel Island." Rouge said.

"I need a Chaos Emerald for that." Scourge said.

"Brilliant!"

"Just hold tight!"

"Thanks for the calvary charge." Sonic grinned.

"Better late than ever." Fiona smiled and turned to Y/N with worry. "You alright, Y/N?"

Y/N turned to Fiona and smiled.

"I'm good. Though, I don't like how Scourge pull that trick..."

"Don't worry, he won't bother you anymore." Sally said, walking towards her and patting her back.

"Yeah. He better not." Sonic nodded, wrapping his arm around Sally's shoulder.

"I sure hope so."

"Shadow, are you...?" Tails asked, but Shadow already sped off into the woods after Scourge and Rouge, not before giving Y/N a nod which she nodded back with a smile.

"So much for your new base of operations." Elias said.

"I promise Sonic, we'll have a better defense system online soon!" Rotor said.

"And so much for your birthday." Sally added sadly.

"Are you guys kidding? Everything worked like a charm!" Sonic said, surprising everyone except for Y/N who smiled.

"The base drew all of Robotnik's fire from Knothole-- and our families. We're all okay after three attacks. Okay, maybe I got roughed up a bit, but I live for this stuff!" Sonic continued. "We've recovered from worse, and we can do it again. We're the Freedom Fighters."

"Yeah, you got that right, bro!" Y/N grinned as everyone else smiled.
