Station Square, Soumerca... Shattered world crisis—first hours...

"This poor city has already seen more than its fair share of disasters. The people still haven't fully recovered from perfect Chaos' attack. Now it looks like they're sitting right on a fault line. Freedom Fighters—we are going to rescue them. Team Freedom—your squad will get the environment under control." Sally said through the comm.

Sonic, Y/N, Kirby, Tails, T-Pup, Rotor, Big, Antoine, Bunnie, Amy, and Omochao are flying down towards the Station Square to rescue the citizens.

"Sonic, you're a runner and skater for both teams. T-Pup and Omochao will be feeding me your progress while I direct you from here."

Once they landed, they all split up to find the citizens and working on some machines to free the people. Y/N and Kirby went off alone to find the people. She activate the board from her rocket skates that Tails have upgraded for her. Y/N landed on the water and easily skates through the water as she look around the flooded city when she heard a cry. Turning, she quickly skid to a stop to see a baby in a crib as the water started to rise. She quickly jumps in and grabs the baby and wraps him in a bundle of blanket before tying it around her shoulder tight as the baby is now hanging around her. Y/N then jump out of the building and zoom in towards Bunnie and Antoine who're moving the crane away.

"Bunnie! Antoine! I've got the baby! Where should I go?!"

"Head for ze rooftop where it's safe! Maybe you'll find ze baby's parents!" Antoine suggested.

"On it!"

Y/N then zoomed away as she was about to climb up to the roof when she saw a big wave coming towards her. Kirby gasped at the sight as Y/N looked down at the baby.

"Hang on tight, kid. This is going to be a bumpy ride!"

Just as the wave was about to crash into her, Y/N brought out her Extreme Gear and got on it and began surfing through the wave.

"Cowabunga!"

"Pooteetah!" Kirby gasped in awe and excitement.

The baby in her arms laughed as he was having fun actually. Once the wave was high enough to get her to the rooftop, she boosted it off towards it and landed where the rescued citizens are and saw Amy and Sonic.

"Sis! You're okay!" Sonic said in relief.

"No worries. At least, this baby is safe."

The baby let out a cute coos. The human mom and dad rush in and were happy to see him.

"Sweetie! Oh, there you are!"

Y/N handed the baby to his mom.

"Thank you! Thank you!"

"God bless you!"

"You're welcome." Y/N smiled.

Just then, the blue hologram of Sally popped out from Omochao.

"Sorry about the close call there, Sonic. Antoine and Bunnie ran into some trouble."

"Don't sweat it, Sal—We're tight on flying camera-radio-thingies. Do you have some kind of evac plan? 'Cause we're running out of buildings." Sonic said.

"Maybe. Rotor? We need an evac plan. Can the Sky Patrol...?"

"RRGH—Nope! It was built to hold about two dozen people. She's a mobile base, not a ferry."

"What about the subway? Can we move people to safety elsewhere?"

"Subway's a wreck and we don't have the management or gear to get it working again. I'm not even sure the rails are intact."

"Which is quickly becoming less of an option. We simply don't have the resource to handle this. Let me think..."

"Work it out for us, Sal. Until then, I'm going to keep moving. I'm going to save every single person here singlehandedly, if I have to."

"You can't do that, Sonic! It's suicide! You can't even swim!"

"Sorry, sis. Can't risk you using your power to save everyone. It will drain you out."

"I can handle this if I have to."

Just then, Omochao's hologram cuts off from a blue to green hologram.

"*KSHK!* That won't be necessary."

They looked up in shock to see a giant black flying ship that could fit the entire people.

"Attention, citizens of Station Square. This is CPT. Amanda Tower of the U.F.A.F. Letter of Gabriel. G.U.N. Forces are being deployed to rescue you. Please remain calm and give your full cooperation to the G.U.N Troops and the Freedom Fighters. We will protect you. You will be safe."

Y/N may not like the G.U.N that much, but she's relieved that they're here to rescue the citizens and that's all that matters. Though, speaking of G.U.N, she wondered how Shadow, Rouge, and Omega are doing and hoped that they're okay.

Later, back in Sky Patrol

"I'm beat. I'll power-nap en route to the next crisis, then..." Sonic sighed.

Sally shushed him as the screen showed King Maximilian and Vanilla who're listening to Cream.

"...and we're all very safe and secure on the Sky Patrol. You really ought to visit, mother. It's amazing!"

"I'm sure it is, dear. You stay close to the Freedom Fighters and stay safe. Gemerl will help me look after Chocola. I love you, Cream." Vanilla smiled.

"I l-love you, t-too, m-mom..." Cream sniffed.

Amy walks over to her and guides her away. Cream wiped the tears away.

"I-I'm okay... re-re-really..."

"Thank you, your majesty." Vanilla curtsied.

"Think nothing of it, m'lady." Maximilian bowed.

"How's the kingdom, daddy?" Sally asked, walking over to him.

"It seems Westside Island on a whole was spared the worst. What have you gathered about the state of the rest of the world?"

"Thanks to the access codes Sally stole from the Death Egg, we've been able to compare data from the Eggnet with the rest of the world. It appears the chunks of crust have stabilized—for now." Nicole explained.

"And while that's nice, we have no explanation as to how anyone can breath, or how the oceans still function, or what's keeping the pieces of the world's crust floating." Sally added.

"We just saved a city. Can't we just chalk it up to 'magic' and call it a day?" Sonic suggested.

"A smashing idea, I'd say for now, at least. Rest up, heroes. You'll be needed more than ever. Mobotropolis signing off."

Sonic, Y/N, Kirby, and Tails collapsed on the chair as they feel exhausted from what's happening already.

"Whoof! Today was so crazy, I almost completely forgot about our other world... the conflicting memories..."

"...Huh... Me, too." Sonic said, oddly tapping his teeth for some reason.

"You know... I feel bad saying this... I feel like I should care more about what's happened, but... it's almost like having a vivid dream, and even when you wake up... after a little while..." Tails started.

"It fades away? Yeah, I get ya. But let's worry about one crisis at a time, right?"

"Well, yeah, the shattering planet is important. But... you'll still remember everything, right?"

Sonic ruffled his head.

"Sure, bud. No worries."

Tails turned to Y/N.

"And Y/N?"

"Yes?"

"Please don't forget about me either. I know that you somehow will remember everything, but just promise me."

Y/N smiled and kissed him on the cheek, causing his face to go pink.

"I promise. I'll never forget you, Tails."

Sonic and Y/N then got up to walk over to Sally and Nicole while Kirby stayed put as he needed time to rest.

"Yo, Nicole! Can you give Chuck a call in Spagonia?"

"We were just about to do so. Let's hope their lines are still up."

The screen showed Ben Muttski who looked scared and frightened.

"H-H-Hello?!"

"Hey! Muttski! Is the university still standing?" Y/N greeted.

"Y-Y-Y-Yeah... b-but..."

"Are you hurt?" Sonic asked, noticing his behavior.

"Is everything okay?" Y/N asked in concern.

"N-N-No..." Ben stuttered.

"Then shake it off, buddy. I need you. Can you get us in touch with Chuck?"

Sonic turned to Sally.

"See, I'm thinking the quakes we dealt with in Wood Zone and Metropolis Zone were all connected to what we went through today. Since Chuck was researching that weird energy-gunk coming from the fissures, I figure he'd know if there was a connection to it all."

"That's... rather astute."

"Yeah, I'm totally that thing you just called me."

"Let's not forget about the doctor he suggested. You've been acting weird when you touched your teeth like that. Although, I feel weird too." Y/N said, looking straight at him to make sure he didn't forget.

"Oh? You noticed...? Heh. Yeah..."

"Th-They took them!" Ben shouted, alarming them.

"Whoa! Hold on! Who took who? Who's 'they?' Who's 'them?'" Sonic asked.

"Eggman's Badnik's! They kidnapped the professors! Pickle and Chuck! They took their research, their samples... They took everything!"

"What?! We gotta go and save them!" Y/N exclaimed.

"Already on it!" Nicole said, checking her data.

Looks like they're in for another mission without any rest at all. Rescuing Uncle Chuck and whoever is this Professor Pickle.
