Y/N's arms was locked behind her back by Espio who had a kunai pointed at her neck.

"Say goodbye—"

Y/N immediately elbowed him in the gut, causing him to grunt in pain and release her. She turned and kicked him, sending him flying.

"Goodbye!"

Espio quickly got up and start to throw ninja stars towards her. Y/N back flipped to dodge the stars. Y/N and the others are training practice as Sally, Kirby, and General watch over them. Cream and Cheese are also there to watch as Y/N had invited them to come over for a hangout after the training. Y/N brought out her katana and charged him as Espio quickly took out two kunais and their blades clash against each other. They struggled to push each other back until Y/N managed to kick one of the kunais out of his grasp and pushed him down with her katana. She goes to strike him when he kicked her back. Y/N quickly landed and suddenly felt someone's presence and tilted her head to the right as the white gloved fist move past her. She turned amusingly to see Knuckles who's smiled nervously before she grabbed his arm and flipped him over her shoulder.

Tails goes to attack Y/N as he flew down when Y/N turned and flicked his head hard, making him fly backward.

"Hey! No fair!"

He rubbed his forehead in pain and goes to attack her again, but this time Y/N didn't move as she let him come closer. Then, she did something he never expected.

"Tickle, tickle, Tails!~"

She starts tickling him in the belly, causing him to laugh.

"Tickle! No! My weakness!!"

Tails stopped flying and fell to the floor laughing as Y/N kept tickling him.

"Okay! Okay! Please stop! I yield! I'm gonna pee myself!"

She giggled and stopped tickling him as he regain his breath. Y/N quickly jumped away when Mighty goes to sneak attack her.

Later, Y/N, Kirby, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Bunnie, and Fiona are walking through the woods or flying which is obviously Cheese. They had to stop their training when the General, Antoine's father had collapsed due to coughing a lot. Sally's parents had to cut their world tour short due to complications.

"So Antoine didn't even flinch when he heard?" Bunnie asked.

"No, he just wanted to know the battle stimulation with the Chaotix." Sonic said.

"That's really odd for him not to worry about his father. Something's not right..." Y/N said with a thoughtful look.

"I think it's cruel for him not to worry about his father!" Cream huffed. "He should at least be a little more respectful."

"Chao Chao!" Cheese agreed.

"Pooteetah!" Kirby agreed too.

Just then, they stopped to the billboard that say 'Don't Miss Mina Mongoose In Concert Two Nights Only'.

"Too bad they couldn't stay for this. I still can't get over how Mina went from shy babysitter to pop star mega sensation!" Sonic exclaimed.

"Ohh! The concert! We should go there!" Cream said in excitement.

"Chao Chao!" Cheese agreed.

"Pooteetah!" Kirby agreed.

"Why not? That gal's got a mean set o' pipes!" Bunnie said.

"Sounds fun to me." Y/N said.

"It will help everyone calm down a little." Amy said.

"Uhh... Y-Y/N...?" Tails stuttered.

Y/N turned to him.

"Yes, Tails?"

"Uhh... Mina's concert opens tonight... and... umm..."

Fiona noticed that Tails is about to ask Y/N out and quickly blurted out.

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's all go see Mina's concert together."

"Sounds great to me!" Sonic said.

"Yay!" Cream jumped up in joy.

"Count me in!" Bunnie said.

"Good idea, Fiona!" Y/N said with a smile.

Tails gaped at Fiona for ruining his moment with Y/N.

Sunset Hill, everyone went to the backstage to see Mina.

"Hello, everyone!" Mina greeted them.

"Hi, Mina." Tails greeted back.

"Sup, Mina." Y/N said.

"Pooteetah." Kirby said.

"Are you guys here for the show?"

"Naw... We're here for the refreshments!" Sonic said.

Mina gave him a hug.

"Don't make me have to get rough with you, True Blue! I'm really glad you came! Knowing you're out in the audience, I'll give the performance of a lifetime."

"Are you kidding me?"

They turned to see Ash.

"Every time you're onstage, you give the performance of a lifetime, kid!"

"Oh, Ash! Sonic, you remember my boyfriend..."

"And her manager..."

Ash grabbed Mina's arm to guide her away, giving Sonic a glare

"...who's here to remind her she'd better get moving, or her fans will be disappointed."

"See you after the concert, guys!" Mina waved them.

"What's his problem?" Y/N thought, raising her eyebrow as her brother thought the same thing.

All of the sudden, the laser blast from the crowd and hit the palm tree right next to Mina who screamed. Sonic, Y/N, and Kirby ran onto the stage.

"Mina!" Sonic exclaimed.

"Pooteetah!"

"Sonic! Y/N!" Mina said.

"You alright?!" Y/N asked

"I—I think so."

Y/N looked through the crowd to see the purple male weasel with black and brown hat running away. Bunnie flew towards the fire.

"Don't worry, Sugah-hogs, ah'll put out the blaze. You two stop that weasel."

"On it!"

Bunnie kicked the tree into a nearby lake. Sonic and Y/N chased after that weasel named Nack. Kirby jumped onto Y/N's shoulder to follow them.

"Good. At least I'm not bein'..."

Sonic and Y/N stopped in front of Nack who froze.

"...followed."

Kirby blew raspberry at Nack before he was punched in the face by the hedgehog siblings.

"Uhnn..." Nack groaned, waking up and found himself in the cell with Sally, Y/N, Kirby, and Sonic in front of him.

"Hello, Nack. We picked this jail cell especially for you." Sally said.

"And with a rap sheet like yours, you're gonna be in it for a really long time!" Sonic said.

"Unless you tell us why you made an attempt on Mina the Mongoose's life tonight." Y/n glared at him.

"Let's see: sell out my employer and ruin my street credibility or cool my heels in lockup while receiving three square meals a day? I think I'm beginning to like it here already, hedgehog girl!"

"Oh, really? Take a look outside..."

Nack looked through the window of the cell and flinched to see strong and scary criminals outside working their muscles out.

"...and tell me how much you want to be reunited with your former accomplices who went to jail while you escaped scot-free!"

"You better listen to Y/N." Sally said.

"It was Eggman." Nack said.

"You're lying— You'll say anything to save your mangy hide, Nack!" Sonic glared.

"I'm telling the truth— I swear!"

"Why would Robotnik hire you to assassinate Mina?" Sally asked.

"I know it sounds crazy, but he told me he turned on his radio one day and heard one of the Mongoose chick's songs." Nack explained. "He said it was the worst thing he'd ever heard in his life! From that moment, Robotnik outlawed all Mina-related memorabilia in his territories and jammed the airwaves so nobody could listen to her music, but even though he did all hat, he couldn't get that song out of his head! That's why he hired yours truly—to silence the 'Songoose' once and for all."

"Well newsflash: you didn't." Sonic commented.

"You think that's gonna stop Eggman? Rent a clue, hedgehog!"

They then went back to the Acorn Castle with Sally sitting back on the throne as they told everyone what Nack told them about.

"You're not serious!" Ash exclaimed.

"I'm dead serious, Ash." Sally said. "Mina's life is in danger. I want the Knothole Freedom Fishers to replace her security detail with Sonic and Y/N serving her as her personal bodyguards for the remainder of the concert."

Ash pointed at Sonic.

"I understand Y/N, but what can he do that our regular bodyguards can't?"

"Uhh... keep her breathing?"

"What's your problem with my brother anyway? To me, I don't see him did anything wrong to you! Got any explanation on why?" Y/N glared at Ash who flinched.

Ash then walked away not wanting to deal with this.

"Y'know..."

Sonic turned to Mina.

"...I've got a feeling that your boyfriend doesn't like me too much!"

"Isn't it obvious, Sonic?" Y/N deadpanned.

Back to Sunset Hill Knotehole in backstage

"I feel so much safer knowing that Princess Sally has assigned you two and the rest of the Freedom Fighters to protect me at tonight's concert, Sonic and Y/N!" Mina smiled.

"Well, after Nack the Weasel's botched assassination attempt, we didn't want to take any chances, Mina." Sonic winked. "And if Dr. Robotnik hates your music so much that he's willing to put a hit on you, that's just one more reason for the rest of the planet to listen to it!"

"No one sings better than you." Y/N said with thumbs up.

"Mina...? Can I talk to you in private?" Ash asked

"No way, Ash. You might be Mina's manager. Heck, you might even be her boyfriend, but tonight I'm her bodyguard, and she's not leaving my sight."

"You've gotta be kidding me!"

"Does it look like I'm practicing stand-up comedy?"

Y/N went between Ash and Sonic.

"Boys! Boys! Knock it off, you two!"

"It's alright, Sonic." Mina assured him. "I'll be safe with Ash. Besides, I'm due on stage in ten minutes, anyway."

"Okay, Mina. For you. Come on, team."

They were about to leave the room, leaving Ash and Mina alone when Y/N decided stay and listen to what Ash has to say and want to know why he hold grudge against Sonic so she could give him some beef for this.

"Ash, what's the matter?"

"I think we should cancel tonight's concert, Mina—it's too dangerous!"

"How can you even suggest such a thing? If I were to quit, now, I'd be letting down all my fans! Besides, with Sonic and Y/N on the job—"

"Oh, him again."

"Who on Mobius do you hate him so much?! He's a hero!"

"Yeah, what gives?" Y/N thought.

She's not the only one that's listening as Kirby is on her shoulder this whole time.

"Have you forgotten how that so-called 'hero' broke your heart, Mina? I'll never forgive him for it, and neither should you!"

"You know that it's not in my nature to behave that way, Ash."

"Isn't it? Or maybe it's because you're still carrying torch for the jerk!"

"How can you say that after all we've been through this past year?"

Ash picked up the papers that has songs in it.

"Because the majority of your song lyrics are written about him!"

"What?! That's not true!"

"Well, Mina, if it's not true... tell me you don't love Sonic the Hedgehog anymore!"

Y/N's and Kirby's eyes went wide in shock. They had no idea Mina was in love with her brother. Mina said nothing as she hesitated to answer him.

"That's what I thought. From now on, what do you say I stick to just being your manager?"

Y/N and Kirby glared at him as he walked out of the door. What a jerk he is. He should at least get over with it and stop acting like a child. She and Kirby walked out of the door to Mina who's in tears.

"Mina?"

Mina turned and was in shock to see her and quickly wiped away her tears.

"Y/N! I didn't see you there."

"Do you have feelings for my brother?"

Mina slowly nodded and told her everything. Y/N was surprised and feel a little bad for her to see Sonic and Sally kissing. Y/N then got the idea.

"I think I know something that can help. And show Ash that he's wrong about you loving Sonic."

"Really? What is it?"

Y/N whispered something in her ear as Kirby listened to it too.

"Do you think that could work?"

"I'm sure it will. I know you can do this."

"Thanks, Y/N."

Minutes later, the curtain opens to reveal Mina as she sings.

Y/N who's in the crowd turned to see Ash is surprised that the song is about him. She smiled, knowing her idea works. Tails and Cream and Cheese are flying over the crowd still on a lookout.

"The crowd seems to be having a good time, and nothing looks out the..."

Tails stopped to see something metal walking through the crowd.

"...ordinary?"

His eyes widen.

"Oh, no! It's—"

"Bomb!!" Cream shouted.

"Chao!!"

Sonic and Y/N turned.

"Great! Just what we needed."

Y/N and Ash ran towards the stage to Mina while Sonic ran out through the curtains.

"Tails!"

"We'll take care of them, Sonic and Y/N! You take care of—"

"Mina! Don't worry—I'll get you to safety!"

Sonic rushed over to her.

"But, what about the rest of the Freedom Fighters, Sonic?"

"Yeah, why don't you help out your pals? I'll take care of Mina." Ash said.

"Forget about it, Ash! The FF can handle themselves! What part of me being your girlfriend's bodyguard don't you get?"

"Ex-girlfriend."

"Ex-girlfriend? Since when?"

Y/N went between the boys again.

"Now's not the time for it! Let's go and—"

Suddenly, a silver robot came up from the floor of the stage.

"Ash! Get Mina to safety now!" Y/N shouted.

"On it!" Ash nodded and took Mina's hand and pulled her to safety.

"Kirby, help the others."

Kirby nodded and ran off to help Tails who saw him and grabbed him. Y/N brought out her whip and swung out all the bombs away while slicing them off with her katakana. Sonic dodged the punches from the robot called Heavy.

"Geez, Heavy! Hit me, already! I'm getting bored here!"

Y/N noticed Heavy was about to punch Sonic and quickly jumped in and brought her katana up in the air, not noticing her ruby around her neck glowed red as it powered up the katana before she sliced Heavy all over before landing in front of Sonic like a ninja. Heavy stood there thinking it didn't affect it until it started to fall into pieces and exploded.

"Whoa! That's a bomb right there! Thanks for the save, sis!"

Y/N stood up.

"No problem, bro. Though I was only trying to break it but somehow exploding one was not my idea..." she said, looking confused and look down at her katana.

"Sonic! Y/N!"

They turned and saw the rest of the Freedom Fighters heading towards them. Kirby ran forward to Y/N fast as she caught him.

"Pooteetah!"

"Hey, Kirby. Don't worry. I'm fine."

"All the bombs have been taken care of, Sugar-Hogs." Bunnie said.

"Cool!"

Sonic called Sally on his wristwatch.

"We did it, Sal. The threat is over... And so is the concert, I guess."

"Don't worry, Sonic. Mina will sing again, thanks to you and your team. Hopefully, Robotnik will realize she's no easy target."

Mina and Ash came towards them. Mina hugged Sonic.

"Sonic, how can I ever thank you for saving the day."

"Promise me we'll have to do chilidogs sometime!"

"Consider it a date!"

Mina then hugged Y/N.

"Thanks for the help with my song."

"No problem. Always happy to help. Remember, smile."

"I will."

The Freedom Fighters were only a mile away from the concert when they heard a loud boom.

"What the-?!" Bunnie exclaimed.

"Oh no! Mina!" Sonic gasped.

They ran back to find Mina holding Ash who's covered in burn marks and bruises.

"Ash... Oh, my poor, poor Ash..." she weeped.

They quickly took Ash to the hospital. Sally arrived as they waited outside the examination room until Dr. Quack came out from the room.

"Dr. Quack!" Mina said.

"First... General D'Coolette.... now this. Any word?" Sally asked.

"Well, he's going to pull through, but he's going to be on the slow mend for several weeks. He's sleeping, but you can go see him now, Mina." Dr. Quack said.

Y/N and Sonic followed Mina to Ash's room and when they got there, Mina threw herself on Ash.

"Oh, Ash. I'm so sorry for everything that happened. I know you were only trying to protect me the same as Sonic. A part of me will always hold a place for him in my heart, but I don't love him. I love you. I was a fool not to let you know that. Maybe you should have let bomb finish me off..."

"And miss this killer reconciliation? Are you kidding me, doll?" Ash smiled, opening his eyes.

"Ash! Oh, Ash!"

Mina kissed Ash. Sonic and Y/N watched them with a smile and left the room.
