Ah, the age of vampires. When being a vampire in the form of a hot teenager attending high school chased by teenage girls was all the rage. No, no, we are not talking about Twilight folks but instead, we are talking about a TV show that aired on CW from 2009 to 2017 and basically took over the world.

Welcome to the fictional town of Mystic Falls where we meet our protagonist Elena Gilbert who just lost her parents. She starts her new school year along with her best friends Bonnie Bennett and Katherine Pierce where she meets the very mysterious, but deliciously handsome Stephen Salvatore. Sparks fly and soon they are in a relationship. But what she doesn't know is that Stephen is a vampire along with his notorious but equally handsome older brother Damon Salvatore who also wants Elena for himself. Or does he? 

Thus we begin on a fantasy journey of vampires, witches, werewolves, doppelgangers, ghosts and so much more. We have fantasy and teenage drama all in one. Love, heartbreak, murder, death, all run rampant.

Adapted from the very popular book series of the same name and spanning eight seasons, the show broke records and produced two more spin-offs(more on that in later chapters) while the world waited anxiously regarding with whom Elena would end up. Or will she become a vampire? Or will she survive the adventure at all?
