Percy Jackson

Surely, you've heard of the book franchise Percy Jackson. Oh, you haven't? Okay. Well here's the rundown.

Percy Jackson is a book franchise written by Rick Riordan in 2005. There are three main series in the Percy Jackson world as of 2020, PJO/Percy Jackson and The Olympians, HOO/Heroes of Olympus, and TOA/Trials of Apollo.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians are about the son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson, going on quests to help their parents with Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood, and sometimes other Demigods.

The overall goal of Camp Half-Blood (the camp for greek demigods) is to fight the evil Kronos when the oldest demigod of the big three (Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus) turns 16 years old. It is kind of a big deal because, after WWII, The big three had sworn off demigod children, because they were simply too powerful.

Percy and Annabeth get together, and everything seems fine, except the oracle gives a new great prophecy. Dun~Dun~Dun

Heroes of Olympus is the second series in the franchise and it's set 6 months to a year after the events in the first series. It's about seven demigods traveling from America to Greece to fight the Greek deity Gaea and her Titian children. The goddess Hera takes away Percy Jackson and Jason Grace's memory and puts them in different camps. Jason is a Roman demigod, so he shows up at the Greek camp, Camp Half-Blood, and Percy is a Greek demigod so he shows up at the Roman Camp, Camp Jupiter.

The first two books introduce the main characters of the series while they are separated (that's why it's two books) and follow them on their separate quests. The next three follow all seven demigods on their journey crossing the world on their quest to defeat Gaea. At the end of the third book, Two of the Seven gets separated from everyone else and at the end of the fourth book, they get reunited with everyone. The fifth book is about camp half-blood getting ready for an attack brought by Camp Jupiter and the seven getting ready to fight Gaea. Everything seems alright until Percy gets a bloody nose.

Trials of Apollo is the third series in the franchise and as of April 2020, it only has four books, and the fifth book is set to be released in September 2020.

The Trials of Apollo is about the god Apollo who got turned mortal or human and to become a god again, he has to save all of the Oracles and defeat his old enemy, Python, who is guarding the main oracle.

He is helped by a girl named Meg McCaffrey throughout the whole series. Throughout the different books, he is helped by the demigods from the camps and the people from the series before.

You may be familiar with the two Percy Jackson movies that "cover" the books, but they are completely inaccurate. Such as, but not limited to, Annabeth is described with Blonde hair, and in the movies, she is given brown hair. Percy's eyes are Green, but he has blue eyes in the films. And in the First book, the characters are 12 years old, while in the film, they are 16 years old. And there are many differences between the two, too many to name, really.

But that's the rundown of the Percy Jackson franchise! There are many more details about the franchise, but I hope it's enough to give you an insight into the series!
