Chapter Twenty-One

It was a long, stressful walk to Hell's Kitchen, but it was worth it.  He found the location and took a deep breath, looking up at the warehouse that stood before him.  It was always warehouses, wasn't it?

Surprisingly, there were no guards outside, probably to not arouse suspicion.  But there had to be a whole lot inside.

His parents were inside.  His family was inside.  Soon, he would be too.  He looked around before taking a deep breath and climbing up the wall.

He found another vent and groaned.  Time for some more vent climbing.  He opened it up and snuck in.  He managed to crawl through undetected.  He was about to jump down when he heard no more voices, continue the journey on foot, when he heard a familiar voice up ahead.  He perked up as he realized it was his fathers voice.  He continued to crawl, now starting to hear the voice of Richard Fisk.  He followed the sound until he was led to the end of the vent.  Below him, he heard his parents' voices clearly.  Bingo.

"Mr. Fisk?"  A man almost directly below Peter called.  "He is on the phone."

There was a loud, booming, "Of course!" from Fisk before he warned Steve and Tony to not try any funny business and assigned the man who just talked to him to keep watch.

After Fisk left, Peter took this chance to leap down from the vent and land right on top of the man, bringing him to the floor and knocking him unconscious.

Peter stood up.  "That was too easy."

He looked at his dads, who wore looks of joy and of shock and worry.

"Peter, what are you doing here?"  Tony said in a hushed voice.

"Saving you!"  Peter said, walking over to his dad, who was tied to a pole, on the opposite side of the room as his pops.  He began prying at the rope.

"You shouldn't have," Steve said, shaking his head and looking at the door.  "It's too dangerous!"

"Oh?  And what was your plan going to be?  Sit here and let them kill you?"

"Of course not," Tony said, giving a short sigh of relief as the ropes released his wrists.  He rubbed them before going over with Peter to work on Steve's ropes.  "When they got here and before they made sure all of our weapons were gone, I managed to send a message to the authorities."

"Yeah, and how long ago was that?  They're not coming."  Peter got the rope off of his pops.

"Look, they had me captive-"

"They what?"

"- and the man who is going to oversee your death should be here any minute!  So we need to get out.  Where are the others?"

"They were brought into a separate room.  We don't know."  Steve looked a bit ashamed.  "Look, Peter, I'm sorry about what happened yesterday."

"Let's talk about this later."  Peter shook his head and they all stood up.  "Let's find the others and get out of here-"

"Ah, Peter!  I'm glad you could join us today!"

Peter winced. "Hey, Richard. How's your dad?"

"Oh he's doing great. Y'know, strangely, he's upset about being out in prison, thanks to you guys so..." he shrugged and stepped forward. "Why don't you sit? Stay a while?"

"I'd rather not, actually. Lots of things to do, places to see, you know." Peter started walking towards the door. "Great chat though!"

Richard shoved him to the floor. "No. I insist." He looked up at Tony and Steve, who quickly sat beside their son. Tony wore a glare that could have struck someone down.

"I'm really glad you came. You know, me and him have been anticipating that this would happen. And when he let me know that you had managed to sneak out, I knew you would come." Richard paced around, fiddling with the gold band on his finger.

"Now, I guess you can be here to witness me killing your parents. Lucky you. At least you get to say goodbye. Then again, I will be able to see my father again, unlike you."

"You little-" Peter tried to lunge at him, but Steve and Tony held him back.  He still thrashed around.  "You kill them, I kill you."

"Yeah, I'd like to see you try."  Richard cracked his knuckles and rolled his neck.  "Come on, if you want to try, be my guest."

"With pleasure."  Peter broke free of his dads grip as a large group of men filled up the large room.  Peter shot a web at Richards' arm, causing it to attach to the wall behind him.  He laughed and shot another at his other arm.

Richard chuckled.  He quickly brought his arms forward, ripping the webs off. He smirked and ran forward, throwing himself into Peter with a punch, causing Peter to get lunged at the wall. He groaned after impact and tried to stand up.

Richard stood right above him, ready to punch Peter again. He lowered his fists but was stopped by a hand grabbing his own. Peter and Richard both looked at him.

"Don't touch my son." Steve punched Richard in the face, causing Richard to stumble back slightly. Steve smiled and helped Peter stand up.

"Thanks. Y'know, I wouldn't be against a family vacation after this is all over." Peter shot a web at one of the men that was trying to reach them.

"Neither would I, honestly. Neither would I."

"Where are we thinking of?" Tony asked, punching a guy in the face. "Fiji? Hawaii? Canada?"

"Asgard?" Peter suggested, webbing two enemies together and kicking them. "Thor might be able to help with that? We could meet mister Loki..."

Tony laughed. "If you can convince Thor - wherever he is anyway - to take us to Asgard and let you meet Loki, then sure."

"Sweet!" Peter went over to Richard, shot a web at the ceiling, and swung on the web right into Richards face, making him go back down. "I'll find a way. I always find a way when it comes to these things."

He hit another man in the face with a web and kicked them back. Right as he was about to move on, he felt a sharp pain in his back and was flung forward. He landed on his face with a groan. His hand went to his back as he looked up and saw Richard, a smug look on his face.

Peter tried to stand up when Richard grabbed Peter's wrist, crushing one of his web shooters and his wrist. "Ah! What the - heck, Richard?!" Peter couldn't help but chuckle a bit at what he said. Richard just shook his head and dropped Peter on his already hurt back.

Peter shot a glare and a web at Richard's eyes with his good web shooter, blinding him. Steve and Tony took that opportunity to attack him from behind and in front. He got a kick to the back and to the face. Ouch.

"You alright there, Pete?" Tony asked, hitting another guy in the face. Even without the suit, he was good at fighting.

"Yeah, I'll be fine." Peter stood up slowly and went back to fighting, avoiding using his bad wrist. He was slower, but he wasn't bad. He managed to take some guys out. He flipped over one and landed on their shoulders, making them unstable and bringing them to the ground. He bowed afterwards and went off to the next person.

Soon, the only people left standing were Richard and a few other men. Richard has taken a big hit, with a greatly bruised face and a bleeding lip. Peter rushed at Richard again and managed to get a kick in before getting pushed back. He stumbled back until he fell to the floor, probably with a broken wrist and rib, and with a small bleeding gash on his forehead. His dads were a bit bruised as well. They had began to rush Richard when they were grabbed by three men each and brought to the ground, arms held back.

"Wow, you really tried, didn't you?" Richard taunted. "Well, we all can't be winners. It's just sad how bad you were. Now, you can just sit tight while I get this over with."

He walked over to Peter's dads, causing Peter to do his best to get up but ultimately fail.

"Don't- don't touch them!" Peter said, shooting a web at Richard, attaching his arm to his side. Richard came over to him, took the web shooter right off of his wrist, and broke it. Peter was just glad he didn't break the other wrist.

"This will be fun." Richard went back to his path towards Peter's dads. He couldn't lose them. He couldn't!

Right as Richard lifted the knife, Peter heard a new voice enter.

"Yeah, I wouldn't get too excited."

Peter recognized that voice. Andrei. He looked back as Andrei walked up to Richard.

"Ah, you're here! Good, I was thinking you'd want to see this!"

"Yes, well, I'm afraid that you won't be the one to see it."

Richard's eyebrows shot up. "I'm sorry, what?"

"Your assistance is no longer required. You're out of here. Gone. Kaput. Have I made myself clear?"

"What?" Richard's face grew red. "I have done so much for this project, and this is what I get? I want my revenge. I will not leave!"

"Oh? You've done all the work? What about me, who's actually given you all of your intel? Well, if you're not going to do this the easy way..."

He looked at the remaining two men who weren't holding Tony and Steve and nodded. One man pulled out a weapon and shoved it into Richard's side. He tensed up and started yelling as the men took him.

"My own men! Traitors! You'll pay for this!"

The door closed and he was gone. Now, it was only the six men, Peter, Steve, Tony and Andrei.

This was not going to turn out well.
