"Movie night!!!!"

"WOOO!" said Nathan, jumping onto the nearest couch. 

"Yes!" said Matt taking a heaping serving of popcorn and heading out of the kitchen.

"Will you hang on a moment Matt?" said Julia from behind him.

"Jul- Julia," said Matt.

"I'm sorry I was so mean to you before," said Julia.

Matt's response was just to gulp.

"You just came on so intense that's all," said Julia. When Matt didn't respond, she continued. "I'm flattered by the vow you made. I'm glad you stopped chasing me and proposing marriage in public places."

Matt turned a delicate shade of pink and nodded in a bashful way.

"And .. well," said Julia. "I guess I wanted to thank you is all."

With slow careful steps, she approached where Matt stood. His massive bowl of popcorn that lay forgotten on the couch. When they were only a breaths width apart she leaned forward and kissed him.

It wasn't even a moment when he started kissing her back. 

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!" Shouted Asher.

"Heck yeah!" said Nathan while others clapped.

Maddie couldn't help but laugh. She could see now why Julia hadn't told them her plan. It was only seconds later when her eyes glanced to Wes who stood watching her with a hard-to-hid smile.

Maddie smiled too and walked towards him.

"Hi," she said.

"Hi Maddie," said Wes.

"Sorry I was so mean to you before," she said.

"I was mean to you also though," said Wes. "It was kind of fun though wasn't it?"

"I guess it kept us busy..." said Maddie, looking at where Matt and Julia were kissing. "I guess this means you won the chastity vow."

Wes looked at where Julia and Matt were still kissing. "I suppose I did," said Wes, seeming surprised by the suddenness of it.

"Does that mean I can kiss you then," said Maddie. She laughed a pure and free laugh. Wes smiled too.

"Shouldn't we go on a date first?" said Wes.

"Would you prefer that?" said Maddie leaning forward.

He smiled. "Definitely not." 

Sparks flew as their lips touched, and the whole world seemed to fall away. 

It was a long while until the noise in the room interrupted their moment. It was like someone had muted all sound, and suddenly increased the volume too loud. It was hard to make out what anyone said in the cacophony.

It took an unusually long time for them to get settled for the movie. Maddie was glad she got to sit by Wes.

As they dimmed the lights in their TV space, Maddie heard a whisper to her left.

"Can you do me a favor Matt?" said Julia in hushed tones.

"Anything for you Julia," said Matt.

"I need to get something out of your locked cabinet," said Julia. "But we can go after the movie. I don't want to interrupt the event."

"Consider it done," said Matt.

Julia kissed his cheek as the opening credits played.

Maddie wasn't sure how much of the movie she would be watching. Wes seemed to be thinking along the same lines because when she looked at him, it was to find he'd been watching her.
