Chapter 34
"Hula. Hulahula... Hullaaaaa," said Ash, fanning the air and twitching his hips from one side to the other. The grass skirt gave a shimmering sound with each movement. It complimented the Enya music that played in the background.
Peter hula'd beside him. There was no avoiding it. The girls were on to them from the very start. And they had no choice but to keep dancing. Julia said that if they stopped the girls would go back to their room. The very room that Matt, Wes, and Nathan were ...disrupting.
"Hula, hula-hula," Pete and Ash said in time with the music.
"Where did you say the other guys were?" asked Maddie, who was feeling uneasy.
"They've got to bring the cake remember?" said Asher, while Pete took a moment to push up his coconut shell top.
"Hey, Julia," said Stella, "How many guys does it take to carry a cake?"
"Three?" said Julia.
"How long does it take four girls to call BS?" asked Maddie.
"Hula hula!" said Pete, waving his hands around the nearest tiki torch. The flame flickered slightly. Pete's eyes were wide, and he looked drugged.
There were only two torches. The guys had a budget to keep.
They managed to get the fire pit going though. They'd also bought a humble fruit platter... which was a nice gesture, but the girls didn't go for it. Mostly because they couldn't be sure if the guys had sprinkled it with lethally hot hot sauce ...again.
It didn't look like it, but why take the chance?
"Ok," said Stella, apparently losing interest in the hula dance.. which Asher and Pete seemed to be enjoying ..despite their reluctance at the idea only 13 minutes earlier. "It's been fun and all, but I need some real food. Catch ya later."
"Hula hula- whoa, wait a minute," said Ash. "you can't go yet!"
"Bye," said Julia.
"It's a nice look on you," Maddie said kindly to Pete on her way past.
It wasn't long before the girls found out the boys hadn't gone to get the cake at all... There wasn't even a cake at all!
Big surprise. But the girls hadn't expected three guys to do that much damage to their room in only 13 minutes.
"Hula! Hulahula!" said Pete from the bottom of the stairs, peering around Asher, curious to see how the prank went down.
