Just Some Talk

Foxy's POV

I waited for the girl to come back that night. Her name...Ivan....wasn't it a boys name? Well, there WAS something crossed off on her name tag. Maybe 'Ivan' was a nickname or something. I heard the clock chime, signaling the third night. I peaked outside my curtain and saw the red light on the security camera flickering on and off. I listened closely and sprinted to the office. Last night, Ivan told me that she would flick the camera on and off. She said it would be a signal for me to go to her. I skidded to a stop outside of the door.

"Hi, Foxy!" Ivan cheerfully waved at me and invited me into the small office.

I walked in and sat on the floor, giving her the space she need to operate durning the third night. Ivan talked a lot. I was okay with it. She told me all kinds of things about the world. She told me about something about "police men" and "judges" and "court" and a bunch if other things I never heard of. At least...I thought I never heard of them. Something deep down inside of me said that I knew of these things.

"Jeez...2014 is a cruddy place to be in," Ivan muttered.
"It can't be that bad," I said.
"You're right. It's not bad. It's the Government that's bad. Ugh. The president is just abusing his power! But, the technology is getting better. And I'm starting to get better with digital art!"

I looked at her confused, and she chuckled. She checked the cameras and then dug around in her backpack. She took out a tablet, opened it, and showed me a picture. It was me...as a human...but I looked like a monster. Before I could say anything, she explained the picture to me. She said that she wanted to make art of me but her imagination went wild. She didn't think of me as a monster, or murder. She smiled at me and petted my head. My battery sped up. And before long, the bells chimed for 6am. We said our goodbyes and Ivan left. I went back to my cove and thought about everything she had talked about. I couldn't wait for night four.
