The shrill screaming of his alarm woke Todoroki out of his uneasy sleep

He flinched awake and groaned at the stiff feeling in his back

"Just fucking dandy" he mumbled
7:35 am, just enough time to put his uniform on, make some tea and get to class

He shrugged off his wrinkled shirt from yesterday and pulled on his uniform

By the time he was dressed it was 7:41, giving him just enough time

Todoroki placed a kettle of water into the stove and chuckled darkly at how ironic this might seem to anyone watching

Once it started whistling he turned off the stove and poured the hot water into a water bottle before plopping a mango passion fruit teabag in the water and finishing it off with a bit of honey

Todoroki closed the water bottle and grabbed his book bag, finally leaving for class by 7:49

After class, Midoriyas POV

A heavy sigh escaped my lips as I finally got back to the dorms

It was almost time to leave for the cafe where I would be meeting them, I was nervous beyond belief and practically shaking in place as I pulled on my T-shirt and tied the flannel around my waist

Checking the time I sent a quick text to them to confirm that they weren't busy and everything could go as planned

Me:
Hey, are we still on for 5-ish?
Sent 5:05 pm

Soulmate:
Yeah, definitely, I'm heading out now, what are you wearing?
Sent 5:07 pm

Me:
Wow how forward of you senpai ;)
Sent 5:08 pm

Soulmate:
Not like that! You dork!
Sent 5:10 pm

Me:
Lmao I know I know, T-shirt and a green flannel around my waist completed with jeans

Soulmate:
Ah ok, hey um.. this is random but- what are your pronouns? Gender wise

Me:
Oh! Well I don't actually have a preference, I'm pretty feminine looking but I do use he/him, whatever pronouns are fine though, I wouldn't get uncomfortable if a stranger or a friend used she/her and wouldn't bat an eye if they used they/them

Alright! I'm almost there, I've been walking and texting so I should be at the cafe in five

Soulmate:
Ok, I'll see you soon then

With a small smile I pocketed my phone and kept walking

'A male soulmate.. he seems nice enough, I'm sure everything will go smoothly, his gender doesn't matter to me'

I reached the cafe within minutes and took a deep breath

Me:
I'm here, anything I should look for?
Sent 5:24 pm

Soulmate:
Well- my hair certainly stands out and I'm holding a white flower, as for clothing I'm wearing a baseball T with a PF design on it

My face flushed slightly knowing he took the time to grab me a flower and with a nervous smile I pushed open the door

Once inside I scanned the tables before my eyes landed on a white flower, sitting peacefully on a table top

My breath hitched in my throat as I saw who sat at the table

I walked over quietly before tapping his shoulder

"T-Todoroki?" He turned around and his eyes widened

"Midoriya?-" I nodded slowly and held up my phone, pointing to it

"I'm guessing you're the one I'm meeting here?" He nodded in response and I sat down

I noticed he seemed nervous and on edge

"Are you Alright Todoroki-Kun?" I asked softly

He looked up, Heterochromatic eyes meeting mine

"It's just.. I've never dated another male before- my father is very strongly against same sex couples and has be- told me- um, told me from a young age that it was 'wrong'.." he airquoted the word wrong and I gave him a sympathetic smile

"It's alright Todokun, we can take this one step at a time alright? Nobody even needs to know until you're comfortable" I gently took his hand in mine and he nodded

"This is for you by the way" he shyly tucked the white thornless rose behind my ear

I blushed and giggled "thank you!"

We talked for a bit before the waitress came over

"Hello! I'm Elizabeth, but you can call me Lizzie and I'll be your waitress this afternoon!" The blonde girl now known as Elizabeth said

I smiled at her and she looked between us
"First date I'm guessing?" Todoroki nodded shyly and her smile grew

"Don't worry! We'll take great care of you, what can I start you off with?"

"I'll have a Ginger-Peach tea with a teaspoon of honey and some sugar" he looked to me and I nodded
"He'll have the same"

The waitress smiled and nodded "alright, would you like a menu to look at while you wait?"

"Yes please!" I said

"Would you like the couples menu? It's mostly sweets but the soup is to die for!" Lizzie giggled

I looked over to Todoroki who gave a small nod
"sure why not" he said

(Little did they know Uraraka was watching them from across the cafe, dying inside, holding in her screams)

Todorokis POV:

My god..
We're ordering from the couples menu-
I don't know why I'm so fucking nervous
Midoriya is a great guy and is sweet enough to stay with me despite my internalized homophobia bullshit and daddy issues

"Midoriya.. w-what are we?"

"Hm? What do you mean Todoroki kun?"

"Are we a couple..? I don't know what to call us- everyone else who meets their soulmate usually ends up as partners the next day and I don't want to worry you by not discussing labels-"

"Hey" he took his hands in mine making me look up to meet his eyes "don't stress ok? I'm not forcing you to immediately label us, we can be whatever you want to be alright? We don't have to go straight into boyfriend labels, I'll wait until you're ready"

I sighed a breath of relief and gave him a shaky smile

After he said that I heard squeals from behind us

I turned around and saw the waitress and somebody else who was wearing a floppy hat and sunglasses giggling and talking about an 'OTP?'

I ignored it and turned to midoriya who was mumbling about what to eat

In the end we ended up getting a strawberry vanilla milkshake with two straws and a house specialty soup that was on for soup of the day

"This is really good!" Midoriya says, bringing the bowl of soup to his lips

"I'm glad your enjoying it Midoriya-"

"Call me izuku or deku if you'd like"

"I-.. okay, then you must call me Shoto"

"Of course shochan!"

"S-shochan?"

"Do you not like it? I can call you Shoto or Todoroki if your not comfortable with it! Or I can call you a mixture of both-"

"Your mumbling again"

"Oh sorry.."

"Don't be sorry I find it cute.. and shochan is fine.... izukun" I smiled

"Eeep! Th-Thank you shochan"

I chuckle a bit at his flustered expression and notice the soup is gone and we haven't touched the milkshake

Mid- izuku takes a sip and his eyes light up

"Shochan! This is delicious you need to try it!" He says while putting his straw to my mouth

I take a small sip

Damn it is good, the waitress was right, everything here is lovely

"Wow it really is-"

Wait... Isnt that technically an indirect kiss?-

I was so busy internally panicking I didn't notice izu was talking until he gently poked my cheek

"Shochan are you okay? Your face is really red!"

"I-oh yeah I'm fine!" I smiled and motioned to the waitress seeing as we were finished "check please!"

As they two are walking out of the cafe they don't seem to notice Uraraka behind them taking a picture every once and awhile..-

Izukus pov:

We arrive at my dorm room and I notice Uraraka following us
I smirk at her and decide to mess around

I put on my best innocent face and turn to shochan

"I'll definitely have to pay you back for this date sometime soon! Maybe we can go out again tomorrow?"

"Sure mi- izuku"

I can feel my face heat up as I look down at our hands
Intertwining our fingers I look up at him one last time before pulling him in and kissing him on the cheek

After I pull away I notice Todorokis flaming red face and giggle
He clears his throat before returning it with a gentle kiss on my cheek

I smile and put my hand out behind me
I feel Uraraka slap it and I smile more

I hear her quietly hide behind a plant and i smile before hugging shochan, knowing that a bunch of sudden kisses might overwhelm him

"I'll see you later?"

"Yeah definitely.. see ya later-... izukun"
He says shyly

I blush and step into my room
I hear Uraraka squeal and I smile before flopping onto my bed
