What Really Matters
You didn't mean it; you're not to blame,
So then why do you feel so embarrassed, full of shame?
It could've been anyone who'd have done the same,
So how come you're feeling so worthless and lame?
It wasn't your intention, wasn't your fault,
So why do you want to run away, disappear, bolt?
It was an unfortunate accident not an assault,
So how come you want to pause, go back, want it all to halt?
It was unlucky, people are willing to forgive and forget,
So why are you so shaken, shocked, and full of regret?
They're alright, you've apologized, no need for you to fret,
But you fear this has happened to everyone you've ever met.
It's often something that goes unsaid or unseen,
For you maybe a klutz, accident prone, a silly bean,
But what's important is knowing what sorry really does mean,
And keeping your intentions, pure innocent and clean.
