season one, episode five
( fire )

"Hey, Warren," Audrey spoke, emerging from Audrey and Eddie's bedroom. Warren stood up from the floor, laying on his 'bed.'

He gave a smile, before furrowing his brows. Audrey had recently overheard Warren earlier that day talking to Katherine about the two going to see 'Rollerball' together that evening.

Katherine had thought nothing of it, just Warren and Katherine hanging out as friends. Audrey had gone to tell Eddie about it, and he insisted that the two go with them.

'How many times can you see Rollerball, Eddie?' is what Audrey seemed to ask him about. He shrugged, shaking off about the five times he's seen Rollerball already.

She rolled her eyes and soon continued with their day. "I heard you're going to go see Rollerball later with Kathy." She folded her arms as Warren's head goes back.

"Mind if me and Eddie come?" She asked, her voice going lower as she inhaled after. Warren bit the inside of his cheek. Audrey inhaled as Warren messed with his hair.

"Yeah sure, why not?" He smiled, "You and Eddie are going to be home with Karen here, and Graham's going out with his girlfriend, so might as well not have Karen go through hell seeing you fuck on the counter."

Audrey scoffed, "We rarely have sex anymore," Her eyes widened as she tilted her head to Warren. Warren chuckled as he stood up, "C'mon, Graham's outside polishing his surfboard. Eddie's probably out there too."

They both walked giggling like little kids, before Warren ran back to his room grabbing two joints for him and Audrey.

She nodded her head and brought her mouth into a line as she chuckled taking the joint. "Thanks," He nodded to her as they walked to the porch.

Audrey sat down on the wooden rail, as Warren and Eddie were sat on two rocking chairs. Karen had been seen leaning down on the beam of the wall watching as Graham polished his surfboard.

"Graham why go surfing when you can spend watching Rollerball with us," Audrey commented, her eyes getting narrower. Graham chuckled, "Well, I've already seen it, and to spend time with you three on a double date? No thanks."

Audrey rolled her eyes, "Hey, I'm just going with Kathy as friends." Warren replied. His little crush on Katherine was getting larger and making up that going to go see 'Rollerball' was an excuse for a 'date.'

AUDREY: They didn't go as friends.

EDDIE: They sat four seats away from us. They pretended they didn't know us.

"Yeah, right," Eddie mumbled, his eyebrows shooting up and looking at Audrey. "Are you sure Graham? You've seen it once."

"Isn't that the appropriate amount of times to see Rollerball?" He laughed. "It's a cinematic masterpiece," Warren muttered as he stood up putting out the joint on the ashtray.

"Okay, well, you three enjoy round two, and Eddie enjoy round six and tell Katherine good luck," Graham whispered to Audrey as she stood up next to him.

She let out a laugh as she rolled her eyes. "It's a fucking masterpiece," Warren replied as Karen commented on the movie.

They soon left Karen and Graham alone as they walked out the door. "My car or yours?" Warren asked as he grabbed his keys to their cars. "You can't drive while high," Eddie chipped in. Warren began to Wack his shoulder.

"Neither can you!" Warren replied, his sunglasses hanging off his nose. "Both of you can't drive while high."

"On the other hand, I can." She bragged as Warren and Eddie both roll their eyes. They made their way to the car and Audrey asked if they were going to pick up Katherine.

"Nah, her friend uh... Lana is gonna take her," Warren replied laying in the backseat.

"Cool," Audrey muttered as she started to drive.

AUDREY: Second time seeing it, became more shittier.

EDDIE: It's the best fucking movie ever made.

The four soon came back, Warren insisted Katherine comes back to the house and spend a few nights there. Just them two alone. In his room.

"Honey's, I'm home!" Warren steps through the beaded door as the three follow behind him. Karen and Graham shuffled from each other as they sat on the couch.

Audrey and Katherine exchanged glances with each other as they raised a brow to Karen. She fixed her hair as she cleared her throat.

AUDREY: Karen and Graham... usually not something people wouldn't see.

KATHERINE: I knew from the start. Karen would always go on and on about him. I don't know why she didn't kiss him back at Camila's party.

"What have you guys been doing?" Katherine asked, her bag dropping to the floor as she tilts her head showing a small smile to the two. Karen licked her lips shrugging, "Uhm, just watching some TV." She shakes her head.

Audrey looks at the television, noticing it's not on, "It's not on, Karen." Karen fidgeted with her ear, "Graham turned it off before you got back,"

Graham nodded as Warren chewed on leftover popcorn. The phone started to ring as Eddie grabbed some popcorn from the bag. "Anyways... you guys heard from Billy yet?" Warren asked, going behind the couch to the center of it.

"Uh, no," Graham replied sinking into the sofa, as Karen smirked. The six watched as the phone continued to ring.

"Any of you going to get that?" Warren asked, shoving the last bits of popcorn into his mouth. Eddie shared a glance with Audrey before he picked up the phone, "Hello?"

They watched as he nodded his head slowly to the person on the other side of the phone speaker. "Okay," He replied, as he chewed the rest of the popcorn in his mouth.

Eddie looked surprised as Warren glanced sideways to Katherine who shrugged. "Yeah, sure, no problem." Eddie placed the phone back on the phone holder as he looked to the group. "That was Teddy," He placed his hands in his pockets.

"What'd he say?" Warren asked shrugging his shoulders softly. "Billy and Daisy wrote a song..." Eddie exhaled, "I guess?"

Audrey placed a hand on her hip. She nodded as she used the other free hand to cup her face. "Okay," Her voice went higher pitched from the shock.

The band walked into the studio to find Billy and Daisy sitting on their stools, Billy had the acoustic guitar he would use to write songs. Daisy had her legs crossed on the stool with her.

"Hi," Daisy says smiling as Eddie reply's back, "Hi,"

The band instantly walks closer to Daisy and Billy as Katherine makes her way to the studio room. "Hey, Graham, you know the, uh, riff you're always playing?" Billy asks as he tilts his head.

Graham's eyebrows shoot up, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. You guys write something to it?" Billy nodded, "Sit down," He asked the band as they make their way to seats, "I think you're gonna dig this."

KAREN: It was the first song they ever truly wrote together.

WARREN: Still one of my favorites.

Warren watched as Billy plays the guitar. He drums his fingers on the drums trying to make a beat with his hands. Graham plays his guitar as Audrey watched the strums Billy was playing.

She mutters the frets to herself as she licked her lips to Eddie who seemed to be playing his bass.

EDDIE: We ran through it a couple times.

AUDREY: Basically, ( Audrey looks up to the ceiling. ) every note Billy played, I didn't play it.

Karen makes notes in a notepad, Audrey grabs her rhythm guitar as she began to strum her own notes. Billy notices this and smiles to himself as he looks to Daisy as she swaged her body as she continued singing.

BILLY: I listened to her words. If she didn't speak out about her rarely getting her own parts in the songs because of me, the whole song would've sounded different.

DAISY: I love Audrey with my whole heart. I just couldn't see her having zero, solos, barely any rhythm parts. So... me being me, I did my thing and talked to Billy.

KAREN: I remember having this feeling like... nothing would ever be the same again.

GRAHAM: It was just... a really great day.

"And then it goes to D major?" Eddie asked looking at him. Billy lets out a sigh, "Yeah, I know, but trust me, it-it-it works."

Audrey scratches the top other head, "Hey, Addie. How about you play your cords." Billy looks to her, and she shakes her head, "No, Billy, we could do you..." Billy cuts her off.

"Hey, if you want to... fuck around with it, do your thing, guys." Billy smiles at them as they nodded before they place the headphones onto their ears.

"Should we put this one on tape?" Teddy asked from the intercom. "Yeah," Daisy glanced to Billy who nodded. "We should,"

The rest of the band agrees as Graham asked, "What's it called again?" Daisy speaks out, "It's called, 'Let Me Down Easy.'" adjusting her headphones. Billy sighs as Warren starts to play the bass drum.

EDDIE: The best part was it was left for everyone to contribute. It wasn't just The Billy show anymore. Daisy did that for us.

AUDREY: I was confused when Billy let me play my demo of 'Let Me Down Easy'. I had my own fun playing with the cords.

Audrey smiled to Eddie from across the room as she looked back down to her guitar.

KAREN: It was obvious that they made each other better. Until, of course, they didn't.

The song soon came to an end, Daisy takes off her headphones and rushes to hug Billy. Graham furrowed his eyebrows at Audrey who just shrugged.

Daisy lets out a laugh, "That was, the best one! Right?" She looks to Teddy from the glass, "What'd you think?"

The intercom beeps, "I'm a mother fucking genius." Everyone begins to laugh and cheer. Eddie and Audrey began to share smiles from across the room before he walks over and place a kiss on her lips.

AUDREY: I had a fun night after that.

WARREN: Yeah, we got high until we couldn't feel anything anymore.
