season one, episode one.
( come and get it )
AUDREY: I loved it when Billy introduced us to Camila. It's like I had a friend to make me feel more... in the band. She would record the band practicing and she would get me in there. She made me feel happy.
EDDIE: You couldn't help but fall in love with her, even then. And then she met Billy.
The band started to play as Camila and Audrey watched from the wall. Camila had her camera ready as she moved her hip to the song. Audrey had started to sway her hips along to Billy's singing.
WARREN: For that next year, it felt like all we did was practice.
Camila had stepped up to Billy recording him with her camera. Billy looked into the camera smiling as he sang. Audrey soon spotted the camera on her. Eddie watched as her hips moved to Billy's song. She smiled proudly as Camila called out to her to do a spin.
Eddie smiled with the cigarette in his mouth as he watched Audrey.
AUDREY: I saw the look on Eddie's face when he saw me dancing. I took dancing lessons when I was 5.
EDDIE: She just looked too perfect to not be seen dancing.
WARREN: If my hands were red and raw by the time I got to bed, I knew it was a good day.
Camila soon moved her body to Eddie's as she was on her knees recording Eddie playing his guitar. Audrey cheered on the band as Camila got their reactions with the camera.
They would practice by the time it was cold and chilly out. Audrey had ran to everyone's car where they had their coats. They were still playing by the time they got back as Camila was still filming them.
Audrey handed them their coats as they finished the song and placed them on. "Let's go again," Billy took a sip of his water before Graham smiled as they continued to play.
AUDREY: I think we all got home around five in the morning every day of the year.

AUDREY: Chuck had soon left the band when he got into college. Graham had told me that Chuck said the band wasn't going to go anywhere so they might've well just given up.
BILLY: We were left without a bass player. I wasn't going to cancel our opening for the Winters, so Eddie offered to play bass.
EDDIE: I didn't offer shit. I was just going to play bass until we get a new bassist player.
BILLY: We still didn't have a rhythm player. We didn't have any other option. There was no time to have tryouts. So basically, I was left with no choice.
AUDREY: I hated how they ruined my date for me.
"So tell me about yourself, Audrey," Cam asked as he took a bite of his burger. Audrey smiled as she placed down her drink.
"I'm in a band." She could feel the corners of her mouth rising. Cam nodded intrigued. Audrey explained more about herself.
Cam could feel his heart pounding as Audrey observed his eyes. Cam saw a huge group of boys come into the diner.
Audrey was still talking about what Cam wanted to know. Until they all came up to their table.
Eddie had a flash of jealousy shoot into his veins. He realized it should've been him right there and the guy sitting in front of Audrey.
He hit the inside of his cheek as he watched Cameron.
Cam got a load of the four boys towering over them. Audrey glanced up at them and slapped her forehead.
"Do you really have to ruin my date right now!" Audrey held her breath.
Cam furrowed his eyebrows before he realized who was standing in front of him.
"Wait! You know the Dunne Brothers?" He pointed to them before he glanced to Audrey. She nodded slowly as she gave a bitter laugh.
"They're my best friends, I've known them since I was 13." She replied as she placed her hands on her face out of embarrassment.
She soon turned her head to the four boys, "Why are you guys here?" She mumbled to them before Eddie pulled her aside as the three boys followed behind them.
"Chuck left the band," Eddie revealed. Audrey pressed a hand to her heart letting out a gasp as she did so.
"He got into college," Graham added, Audrey furrowed her brows. "I didn't know he even applied." She replied as they all nodded agreeing that they didn't either.
"Eddie moved up to bass, and we have no one on rhythm," Billy explained as he exhaled.
Eddie was still pissed about moving up to bass, but he had his best friend in the band with him. Like he didn't already, but this was different.
"So who's going to rhythm now?" Audrey asked as she placed a hand on her hip. Billy exchanged looks with the three boys before glancing to her. "You are."
Audrey's heart couldn't have beaten more faster. If it did, she'd be dead by now. She hugged Eddie and he could feel her heart beating against his.
Eddie melted into her touch, she squeeze him tight so that he couldn't breathe.
He enjoyed it, he was with Audrey. It felt like it was the two of them only in the room.
AUDREY: I'm not going to explain the rest, but... I left my date. Leaving him to pay the check. But I to go celebrate with the guys and Camila.
EDDIE: I'm glad she joined the band.
CAMILA: She was my best friend, so I made sure she and I had those memories of being best friends.

INTERVIEWER: What do you remember about your first performance with the band?
AUDREY: [silence]
In 1971 Audrey performed for the first time with the Dunne Brothers. They all walked into a room with their instruments as Audrey grabbed onto Graham's arm as they examined the room.
Their smiles filled the room. Graham came to a stop when he saw the keyboardist in another band. It was like he'd seen a goddess. Audrey and Warren noticed this. The two of them both made smooching noises as Graham shoved the two.
Graham and the keyboardist make eye contact. Audrey scoffed as she walked away from Graham grabbing her instrument as she walked to the back.
The other band had finished their sound check which made the rest of the group follow Audrey backstage. They unzip their instrument bags as they walk up to the stairs. Eddie follows Audrey and Warren as the two compliments the band.
"I love your singing," Audrey compliments the keyboardist who smiles at her and sends her a piece of good luck for her performance.
"I'm Audrey!" She calls out. The keyboardist looks back at her. "Hey Audrey, I'm Karen."
KAREN ( keyboardist, Daisy Jones and The Six ): Who knew I was going to meet the best fucking guitarist in the band.
Audrey took a deep breath as she sets up her space. She had sweaty palms. Audrey was never nervous like this before. Her face had gotten red by the time she had shallow breaths.
Eddie placed a hand on her back sending her a comforting smile. He towered over her as she glanced up to him. She pulls him into a tight hug before Warren stopped their moment.
"Everyone is starting to get here," Warren moved his drummer sticks in his hand. "so we better get into our places. Addie have fun out there," Warren smiled as he backed away before stepping up to his drums.
Audrey closed her eyes and took a deep breath before she placed the guitar strap around her shoulder.
The audience watched Audrey like a hawk before a few people started to laugh.
She had started to grind her teeth as her hands shook intensely. She looked around to her peers but she couldn't concentrate on the song that they were soon going to play.
Eddie mouthed to her: Ignore them. Just follow my lead. Audrey nodded before the band started to play. Audrey could see the audience bopping their heads to their song.
Billy had started to headbang when it wasn't his turn to sing.
The whole time Audrey and Eddie were looking at each other. You'd be surprised that Eddie didn't run up to her and kiss her there and then.
Audrey was starting to feel the song as she watched the girls in the crowd cheer her on.
Including the keyboardist from the other band. She smiled slowly to herself as Billy continued to sing his final parts.
The song came up to a stop as Billy introduced the band, "We're the Dunne Brothers!" Billy cheered out as they exited off the stage as they cheered for them.
Eddie had pulled Audrey aside. "You okay?" Eddie asked placing an arm on Audrey's shoulder, "I'm fine!" She let out a long exhale and smiled.
Her smile soon faded before she looked up at Eddie. "They were all laughing at me, Eddie. What the fuck am I supposed to do with that?"
Eddie started to chuckle, "Maybe it's cause they've never seen a girl guitarist in an all-boy band before!" Eddie picked Audrey up and spun her around as she laughed.
AUDREY: Eddie made me feel better about being the only girl in the band at that time.
ROD REYES ( tour manager ): Put Mick Jagger in a lineup, and a person who's ever heard of The Rolling Stones could still point to Jagger and say, "That one. He's the rock star." Billy Dunne had that in spades.
Eddie had placed Audrey down, "Let's go get a drink, c'mon." Audrey had taken Eddie's hand as she smiled slowly and followed Eddie to the bar.
She had sat down as Eddie request two shots for both of them. Audrey nodded, "Didn't know you could handle shots." Audrey smirked.
Eddie rolled his eyes and scoffed. "There's a lot about me you don't know that I could handle." He winked to her as she rolled her eyes and grinned.
"Yeah?" She quickly furrowed her brows. "Like what?" She tilted her head a little before grabbing her shot glass and she felt it shoot down her throat.
Eddie shrugged moving his face closer to her, "You'll find out soon enough." Eddie had titled his head ready to kiss her. His breaths came close to hers. Her breathing became quick.
Audrey's eyes went wide before Eddie placed a kiss on her cheek. "C'mon," Eddie stood up from his seat extending his hand for her to grab. "I heard Rod Reyes is speaking to Billy right now."
Audrey scoffed at his gesture. She ignored his hand and walked out the door to see Rod talking with Billy and the others.
Eddie smirked to himself before following behind Audrey. And as Eddie said, Billy was talking to Rod fucking Reyes.
He was smoking his cigarette as he was talking to Billy about writing a love song. He soon turned to Graham about his solos.
Audrey agreed on that one. Rod had soon turned to the two standing next to each other.
"And you two," He took another puff from his cigarette. "mostly you." Rod had pointed to Audrey, "You need to chill the fuck out on how to not be scared to show off to the world your great skills." Audrey smiled as she tucked hair behind her ear.
KAREN: Rod told me to wear low-cut shirts. I told Rod to eat shit, and that was that.
"This is the last thing I'll say, and this is key. " Rod looked to the group. "You need to get the fuck out of Pittsburgh." Audrey went blank.
"You want to be signed to label, you want to work with Jimmy Miller, Tom Dowd, Teddy Price..." Billy's eyes went wide. "You know Teddy Price?"
Rod nodded. "Yeah man, I know everybody," He glanced to Billy. "and they're all in L.A. now." Rod paused for a while. "Not London, not New York. California, my friend." Rod took another puff out of his cigarette. "That is the place you gotta be!"
The group stared blankly at him.
AUDREY: I mean no fucking way in hell I was going to move to California. I couldn't leave my dad alone by himself. [sighs]
He told me he was going to be okay and maybe he'll go move with my cousins. But I just couldn't leave him, he insisted that I did though. He was right.
Rod soon left as Billy brought out the group and talked to them about it. "I'm in," Eddie spoke out as he grinned, the corners of his mouth being the first to go up.
Graham agreed afterward. As Warren walked to the van grabbing his keys from Audrey.
They all looked to Audrey. She had her arms folded as she let out a sigh and closed her eyes. "I guess." Eddie smiled and threw an arm over her shoulder.
Camila came smiling to the group which made Eddie take an arm off Audrey leaving her dumbfounded.
She furrowed her brows at Eddie as he stood next to her. He was just about to almost kiss her twenty minutes ago. And he pulls this?
AUDREY: He was such an ass for that.
EDDIE: Yeah... I was an ass for that.
Her arms with still folded as she walked away into Warren's van.
"What's her deal?" Eddie could be heard from outside the van. She scoffed as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
She knew Eddie had a thing for Camilla and she also knew that Eddie couldn't get the girl.
The rest of the guys load their instruments into the van as Warren started the car. Warren had looked to Audrey asking her if he wanted to drive her home.
She nodded slowly as she looked out the window. It wasn't that far of a drive to Audrey's house.
Eddie watched her as Camila placed an arm around her. Audrey peeped over to Camila who was talking with Graham.
She sunk into Camila's touch as she placed her head on Camila's shoulder. The van was filled with laughter as Audrey stayed quiet.
Warren had lit a cigarette as he drove. He passed it around to the group, mostly Eddie.
Audrey sighed when they pulled into her dad's driveway, Audrey asked Graham for her bag and her instrument. He handed her her bag as she got out of the car.
Graham soon handed the Belmore girl her instrument as she thanked him and closed the van door shut.
She thanked Warren as she passed by the driver's seat and walked around the van's front.
She walked to her door as she placed down her case that held her instrument and searched her bag for her keys.
She looked back to the group that was watching her. She waved and sent a sarcastic smile before she groaned as she couldn't find her keys.
Her dad must've been home and making food for his daughter. She rang the doorbell pretending she found her keys to the door. She still pretended to open the door until her dad opened the door to her.
"She's going inside," Eddie announced as he took another puff of Warren's cigarette. "Yeah... took her long enough," Warren replied as he backed out the van and drove off.
Audrey's dad helped her with her instrument inside the house before she broke out into tears. "Dina, love, what's wrong?" Her dad asked as he shut the door.
Audrey felt miserable. She glanced up at her dad before she wailed. "The band wants to move away Dad." Audrey shed tears. "That's great! How far?" He replied. Audrey shook her head, "No, Dad. They want to move to California, that's across the country." She wiped away her tears.
Her dad nods. "You have to go Dina. They need you," Audrey pulled her dad into a hug. "I can't leave you here,"
She confessed. He shook his head, laughing as he did so. "Yes you can, I'll be fine." He pulled out of the hug, his hands on her shoulders. "You'll regret it if you don't leave."
Audrey nodded. "I'll go only if promise to call me every day." He nodded, "Call me when you get there."
AUDREY: That night I packed my clothes, my shoes basically everything. And... I also gave Eddie a call that night.
