Chapter Fifteen

Levi, Olivia, and her father all looked up the wall. It had taken a few hours to reach it, longer than any of them thought it would take. The wall was also much bigger than the thought. It easily reached four hundred feet into the air, maybe even more. It was made of a tough metal, and when looked at from far away, it seemed to form a circle, even though it was extremely large. At the very top, numerous pulls with pointed tops decorated the landscape.

Olivia pressed her head against the wall, listening. "I hear voices. I think there's a whole city here!" Please be friendly, please be friendly, please be friendly, she thought nervously.

"How should we attempt to get in?", Levi asked, stepping back to look at the top of the wall.

"We wait for the natives to come out, and ask for permission to come see their home. It shouldn't take to long," he said, leading them to a road that seemed to go right into the wall, and had tracks all over it from hooves, and shoes. The wall there was broken up into two parts, and definitely seemed to be a door of some kind.

Olivia's dad sat down, resting his eyes, and Levi and Olivia sat down too, trying to find ways to pass the time. They played tic tac to, drawing lines in the sand. Olivia won most of them though, and quickly grew bored. "This is boring. I'm just gonna keeping beating you," she said, groaning.

"Only because I'm being easy on you," he said, folding his arms. "If I wasn't, you'd be groaning right now, because you'd be tired of losing."

Olivia groaned again. "I hate it when people go easy on me."

All of the sudden, they all stood up as the large metal doors slowly opened. Three people came out, and after talking on some kind of radios, seemed to know exactly where they were. "You can come out now!", one of them called out. "We're unarmed!"

They slowly walked out, Olivia getting ready to use her bow, even though she was extremely nervous, and her father putting his hand on the handle of his shotgun, his face along with Levi's being completely blank.

"You aren't from around here are you?", another one asked, stepping forward, but quickly stepping back as Olivia's father hold up the shotgun a little. "Wo, that won't be necessary sir!"

And how are we supposed to know that?", he asked.

"We could have already shot you. There are lots of snipers up on the walls, right now."

Olivia looked up, and grew tense. A large group of centuries dotted the wall, each one either having a bow, crossbow, or some kind of sniper rifle. "Uh ya, I'm nervous now," she said, backing away from the wall a little.

"We don't want any trouble from any outsiders," the third man said. "So why is it you're here? What do you want?"

"We just killed a demon that was preventing us from travelling," Olivia's father said. "Afterwards, our people all decided it would be a good idea to search for more human beings. We didn't expect to find a whole city though."

The man raised an eyebrow. "Your people? How many people are we talking?"

"About a hundred and fifty, hive or take."

"So you wanted to find more people?"

He nodded. "Could we have the tour? Maybe if you agree, once we see what this place is like, we could decide if it's somewhere we want to stay. If so, maybe one or two of you could come back with us, and we could bring everyone here, if that's all right."

All three of the men walked to the door. "Please, come in, come in!"

The trio looked at each other, and slowly stepped inside.

Olivia was dumbstruck. There were so many people! Towering stone and metal buildings stood, and inbetween those, hundreds upon thousands of people went about their daily lives.

Even though the city was surrounded by a wall, the suns light reflected off of the metal, spreading it through the whole city.

Levi looked like he didn't want to stay. He starred at the crowds of people as if they were an infestation of ants.

They were shown the shops, workplaces, houses, apartments, and many other buildings in the city. Olivia thought she would immediately get lost here, but guards pointed out the signs that gave each street a name. Olivia thought that was just bizarre though.

By the end of the day, they were all exhausted from the tour, but met up in one of the apartments.

"So what do you guys think, should we bring everyone here, or just add this place onto the map?"

Her father was in deep thought. "This place has many defences...... But eventually, it will become more crowded... It doesn't look like they've been attacked at all. I guess will just have to wait to see what the town's people think."
