Ch.4

Kagurama's Pov.

I finally accepted the fact that I just plainly suck at the academy. A child with my intellectual should be a prodigy, but sadly the words of Iruka-Sensei just don't make much sense to me. It just sounds so incredibly inaccurate, thus forcing my subconscious to disregard and forget everything taught.

Within the years I spent there, I barely passed the written tests thrown in my direction. I was labeled a loser, and was at the bottom of the class. Seeing that people's opinion won't change of me if I did score high, I fought miserably during the Taijutsu tests. Don't get me wrong, I'm arrogantly certain I could defeat all the kids at Taijutsu. I mean, what is the point? Get them to hate me even more? No. If I want to be Hokage, I need them to think of me as a loser rather than be hated even more than I am right now. I need to shock them when I become so strong, that they'll have no choice but to accept me as their Hokage.

I glared at the calendar that stood mockingly on my wall. October 10th was the date. The date of my birthday. It was also the Hokage son's birthday. I only know this because he apparently throws a "super cool party" and only invited "super cool people".

Turning 7 to me just meant I had less time to work on my Jutsu. The book Fox gave me was completely useless in my opinion, thus forcing me to seek him out, which proved pointless. I then had to go all the way to the Hokage tower, wait 3 hours just to have a presence with him, before having to wait another 2 months until I could have a meet with Fox. Even then, I was greeted by the stupid summoning animal that seemed to love getting on my nerves. The minute I learn to Henge perfectly, I'm going to buy whatever I want, without anyone rejecting me.

Seeing as there was no point to sit around and mope, I put the new book of Ninjutsu in my pouch, and put my shoes on. Today would be a day I dedicate everything to training. I will learn what my chakra nature is, and learn Jutsu's based off of that. The whole topic of chakra nature, another topic parents taught their kids, weren't even explained properly! All Iruka-Sensei did was ask the class if they knew what it was, had a pink haired female named Sakura Haruno explain it, and then move on to propaganda about the leaf village! Absolutely absurd in my opinion.

I just hope I have more than one chakra nature. The 3rd Hokage has all 5, so it would be pretty lame if I only had one pathetic chakra nature.

"Speaking of the third, I should ask him for help! He could train me... no that's a horrible idea! The Shinobi of the village wouldn't even let me within 50 feet of the Sarutobi household." I guess being a retired Kage has its benefits. Complete protection over this "beast." How annoying. I made sure to lock my door, before using the roofs to get to the south forest.

I would have made it all the way to the clearing I train in with no problems if it weren't for me spotting a group of boys picking on the Hyuuga Heiress. Normally I'd ignore it, but I had to think about it. A Hokage wouldn't stand for this would he? Bullying the Heiress of the Hyuuga clan, much less a child? Wait not the child part since I've been being bullied my whole life, and the Hokage seem to have no problems against it. I furrowed my brows and shook my head.

"This isn't the time or place for that! I'm going to be a better Hokage than even the Fourth. I won't stand idly while a child is being picked on like he does." I said, determination set in me, and I jumped down the tree I was in, in front of her. The boys jumped back clearly startled.

"H-hey! It's her!" The chubby boy wearing a white bandana stuttered.

"Y-Yeah! My mom said she's bad news!" The one with a strange haircut, and an ugly face cried. The boy with a backwards cap and a missing tooth who seemed to be the leader, stepped forward.

"Guys! My Shinobi brother is in her class, and he says that she's a loser! Dead last!" He shouted with a grin. That seemed to fuel their courage.

"Leave her alone. 3 older boys picking on a girl? How pathetic." I scoffed while crossing my arms.

"Shut up ugly! What are you going to do about it?!" The seemingly leader shouted. Grinning, I put my hands together in the ram hand sign.

"Bunshin no Jutsu!" I exclaimed causing their eyes to widen. The poof of smoke momentarily clouded everyone's vision.

"No way..." the chubby boy exclaimed in fear. The fear however completely disappeared at the sight of the dead crappy clone, which disappeared instantly.

"You're just another loser!" The leader laughed going to punch me in the face. I blocked it, and flipped him behind me. Tackling him to the ground, I began punching his annoying face.

"Stop!" The ugliest one of the group shouted. My fist froze in mid air, and I turned to see him holding a Kunai against Hinata's throat. "If you move, the Byakugan freak will have a nice scar for her funeral." He said. He really was a creep as I thought. Gritting my teeth, I accepted the punch to the face, throwing my body off of the leader. Seeing my surrender, both the chubby boy and the leader began pummeling me.

"Hey!" Someone interrupted after a couple of minutes. My arms that were protecting my face, prevented me from seeing who it was. "If you know what's best for you, you'd leave." The voice said once more.

"L-lets get out of here!" The leader shouted falling off of me. I could hear the other two shout while running away. Wiping the blood off of my face, I sat up to see the Hokage's son. Naruto Namikaze. He walked up to the Hyuuga Heiress, offering her his hand.

"Are you okay Hinata?" He asked her. She blushed as she grabbed his hand. Nodding to his question. I could see the amazement in her eyes only make me grit my teeth harder. I'm the one who saved her so why? Of course I shouldn't have expected anything. I'm still the "demon child" of the village. Saving her won't suddenly change all of her opinions of me. Naruto turned to me, but I looked away, standing up. "Iruka-Sensei still hasn't arrived so we should hurry to the Academy. I'm talking to you too, Kagurama."

I looked at him once more, only to see a concentrated expression on his face. "Kagurama is so long... how about Kagura?" He asked grinning in my direction. An automatic response was to glare at him causing him to smirk. "Kagura it is. Can you walk to the academy by yourself?" He questioned. Why is he even talking to me? It's not like he even cares if I can walk by myself.

"Of course I can. What kind of Hokage would I be if I couldn't handle a small beating like that?" I said while spitting out the blood that pooled in my mouth. I stood up, and began to walk off into the direction of the academy. My hopes for skipping today to train had been ruined. I guess I can learn about my chakra Nature another day.

I made sure to wash the blood and dirt off of my face completely when I went to the bathroom before heading to class. I also washed my arms that were dirtied. I glared into the mirror that reflected a bruised red cheek, along with my eye beginning to darken from the punch. I guess this is karma from when I hurt the Uchiha brat a while ago. Oh well. It could have been worse.

I shrugged my shoulders and headed to class. Already it was filled, and my appearance made no difference.

"Why is Iruka-Sensei so late today?" I muttered to myself, a smirk forming on my face. Standing up, I made my way to the back of the teacher's desk.

"Hey! Skunk, what are you doing?" Hibachi, an annoying boy shouted grabbing the classes attention. Because of my mismatch hair lashes, and brows, the children at the academy refer to me as a skunk. I ignored him, and grabbed some oil, spilling it on the floor in front of the door. I also put up an eraser to distract Iruka-Sensei. Walking back, I felt a strange tingling sensation in the back of my head and turned around to see the door beginning to open. That's weird. It's like I could sense him there before seeing him.

Instead of falling on him, Iruka-Sensei dodged the eraser. He looked confused, but ended up slipping on the oil. Smirking, I pointed at him.

"That's what you get for being late Iruka-Sensei." I said, feeling absolutely amused by the situation. Pranks like this has always amused me. My only reasoning behind pranking this teacher for that past couple of months.

"Kagurama..." he trailed off. Face reddening in anger. His anger halted seeing the bruises on my face. Seeing this as a chance to ditch, I crossed my arms and began to walk towards the door.

"I know. I'll wait out in the hall." I said.

"No. Go sit down in your seat." He said. My brows furrowed as I looked at his face. For a second, I saw the look the villager always send me, causing my eyes to widen. What is going on with Iruka-Sensei?
