Ch.1

Kagurama's Pov.

Here I was. Arms crossed as I glared at the child in front of me. I of course was the same age as the child, but that didn't relieve me of my annoyance.

"What is it that you want?" I spat, annoyed that he, the youngest of the Uchiha main family, Sasuke Uchiha, was bothering me with his presence.

"The other kids were saying that you were a monster. What kind of demon are you?" He demanded with his fist clenched. I could feel my patience run thin at this. Opening my mouth I was stopped when he continued. "I mean, you're hair is all weird, and your eyes are pretty freaky. Uchiha's have red eyes but that's when we activate our Sharingan. What's your excuse for looking so ugly?" Before he could even blink, my fist already made contact with his annoying face, sending him crashing into the floor.

"Next time you wish to bother me, it better be with something intellectual." I stated, looking at the boy as if he was bellow me. He grabbed his cheek as his lips began to quiver, and his eyes water. Standing up, he glared at me.

"You'll be sorry you did that once I tell my big brother!" He shouted and proceeded to run away. Whatever. I don't care. Turning around, I made my way out the park, and back home. My small apartment was about a 30 minutes walking distance from the academy. I shoved my fists in my pocket, and looked down as I walked down the main road. The gossip, and whispers about me started the minute the adults caught sight of me. They did this every single day. For some reason, talking trash about my existence never seemed to bore them. I released a sigh, and began to walk faster towards the direction of my home.

The shabby, run down apartment that stood before me is, and yes if you guessed it, my home. Unlike all the other orphaned kids in the village, I had to live alone. The old lady at the orphanage's reasoning was I was too dangerous to the other kids. The Hokage didn't respond to the comment at all when he made sure all my nonexistent stuff was fully moved out. I unlocked the door, and went in. As usual, the lights were off, and I was alone in the cold small place.

"I guess I'll be making ramen." I muttered. My snacks had run out, and I didn't know how to cook at all. Besides, most of the stores refused to sell food to me, so I was used to having to end up eating ramen for dinner. Ramen had its upsides. It was quick too eat, and it's taste was tolerable. Strong emphasis on the word tolerable.

The noodles were slurped up rather quickly, and I went into the bathroom to prepare for bed. My nightly routine consisted of quickly brushing my teeth, taking a 5 minute shower, getting dressed in my night clothes and then heading to my bedroom to sleep.

_________

I was awoken early by the harsh knocking on my front door. Who would wake me up this early? Groggily getting out of bed, I rubbed my eyes and headed to the door. Once I opened it, I instantly regretted the decision. I tried to slam the door closed, but the hand of the older male prevented that.

"What a rude greeting, Kagura-Chan. Even after coming all the way here, I would hope for a better response." He said. He, as in the Anbu assigned to me for whatever reason, is named fox. Well his code name is. I couldn't be bothered to actually put effort into finding out what his real identity is, which I most definitely wouldn't have been able too. I crossed my arms, and glared at the Anbu.

"Why are you here?" I demanded, my eyes narrowing even more.

"I hope you know that your personality for a 5 year old is not normal at all." He said pushing me out of the way, and forcing himself into my apartment. I stumbled back, and realized that it wasn't him that pushed me back, it was the grocery bags he had.

"Disregarding my personality, I wish for you to answer my question and give me a reason as to why your presence is necessary to me as of right now." I said seeing how he avoided my question.

"From the looks of it, you just woke up. Go get cleaned up and I'll prepare breakfast for us." He said, once again avoiding my question. I clenched my jaw, and stormed back into my room. He obviously wouldn't answer if he didn't want to. I quickly brushed my teeth, and changed into my navy blue tank top and green pants. I decided against tying my sash for today, and went back into the kitchen.

The Anbu had whatever food he had in mind, cooking in pots I don't remember buying, and was busy stocking my fridge with the rest of the groceries.

"You'll be enrolled in the academy starting next month." Fox suddenly said breaking the silence.

"Is that what you came here to tell me?" I asked not amused. I knew I was to start at the academy soon, but it's not like it was something the Anbu had to personally come and tell me. He could have just sent his summoning dogs to deliver a letter like usual. We were both contempt with the minimal contact made between us.

"By next week you should have all the necessary materials for the academy." Once again, avoided. I'm starting to have a negative feeling behind this surprise visit. He went back to check on what was cooking, and giving a nod of satisfaction, he turned off the stove and got plates I, once again don't remember owning from my cupboard. Where are all these dishes even coming from? It's not like I cook so I definitely wouldn't buy them. "Wash your hands." Fox said when I attempted to sit at the small two person table just a couple of feet from the kitchen.

Refraining myself from showing my annoyance, I washed my hands in the sink, emphasizing the use of soap and scrubbing. I used the wash cloth hanging on the oven to wipe my hands, Fox moving out the way for me while he poured what he made in two plates. Looking closely, I realized it was stew.

"Is there meat in-"

"All vegetable Kagura-chan. The bigger chunks in it is just potatoes." Fox said cutting me off. Good. I don't particularly like the meat of Konohagakure. It just didn't taste that appetizing. I grabbed two spoons from my utensils drawer, which consisted of a few spoons, chopstick, and recently added bigger wooden spoons that Fox probably brought. Like I said, I don't cook. I also made sure to grab two empty glasses, seeing how Fox brought some juice and had it out on the table.

I gave an expression of uncertainty upon taking a closer look at the food. Fox only cooked food for me one other time, and I was too sick to remember how it tasted like. I also wondered how he would eat with his Anbu mask. Shrugging, I quietly said 'Itadakimasu', and began to eat while looking down. Fox was acting too suspicious today, and honestly it creeped me out. I could hear him eating, but refused to look up.

Much to my surprise, the food wasn't that bad. It actually had the right amount of seasoning giving it a decent taste. I guess the Anbu actually know other things than just assassination. Pouring myself some of the apple juice, I ate the last bite of stew, and gulped down the juice. Fox finished before me, and already had his mask back on by the time I looked at him, assuming he even took it off.

"You must be wondering why I'm here," he started, momentarily surprising me. 'Yeah, as if I haven't been asking that question since you arrived.' "Well, I heard about an incident where a child with mismatched colored hair, and red eyes punched another child, who happened to belong to the main family of the Uchiha Clan. Also the child who was punched had to stay home since not only did he lose a tooth, his face bruised up earning him a visit to the hospital to check for any jaw damage."

"I wonder who that was." I responded looking away from Fox's masked.

"There's only one person who comes to mind once the description was released. Also the fact that people were gossiping about the 'demon child' hitting the Uchiha child of the main family." He continued causing my eyes to narrow.

"It's absurd that I'm recognized as the 'demon child.' I don't remember doing anything to make every single person in the village loathe my existence." I spat with a glare on my face. "How does this include you? Please enlighten me."

"We're going over to apologize." Fox said causing my face to snap towards his mask.

"What?! I absolutely refuse to apologize to that insufferable brat! You don't even know what happened!" I shouted.

"To be honest, what happened doesn't matter. You need to apologize, and you will do it now. We're also going to pick up flowers from the Yamanaka flower shop." The Anbu calmly responded with his usual dull voice.

"As always, nobody cares about my side!" I spat crossing my arms and looking to the side. Fox didn't respond and proceeded to wash the dishes. He placed the remaining stew in the fridge and cleaned up the mess caused by the cooking.
