Vanessa's POV

The International History I lecture ends with Mr Theodors praising Chad and Mona's presentation of their assignment, saying he looks forward to read their complete paperwork. They did such a great job really and I believe they just secured for themselves a clean A. For myself on the other hand, things are pretty doomed. I have a few ideas for my project but that's all they've been for now, just ideas. Time passes so fast, it's almost November. I think I can catch up if I put some work this weekend. Let's not forget there's nobody I could count on but myself after all.

"I was so sure you would be the last to get out of class." Emma is leaning on the wall, hands crossed in front of her chest, checking the time on her watch.

"Emma!" My Emma, my best friend in the whole world is here! "I can't believe it!" I hug her tight. "I've missed you!"

"Aaw I've missed you too!" she returns the hug. "But I can see you truly mean it, you can stop squeezing me now." I laugh and release her from my arms. She coughs pretending she lost her breath. Did I say I've missed her?

"How and when did you get here? And what have you done to your hair?"

"You like it?" she instantly makes a turn to show the big change she has done. Her once long blonde hair is now replaced with a brand new pink haircut that reaches her shoulders. "I thought a little refresh was essential. Besides, I needed to make sure I would stand out from the crowd." She says winking at me.

"Like you haven't been doing that since the day you were born."

"You do have a point, Nessa!" she claps her hands congratulating me.

"Haha, you are crazy but I like it." I reassure her. "I would never in a million years do it but it completely suits you."

"I know right? I'm so gorgeous I can even shave my head and still look good." I give her a panicked look. "Ha, gotcha! Relax, I'm not going to pull a Britney 2008." I exhale in relief. "I mean not anytime soon", she goes on. "Gimme your books, you're still so bony to carry them. Oh my God, they're heavier than bricks! Don't you eat?"

"Always exaggerating, Em. I'm actually eating a lot of junk food, Alice and I have vowed to test every single delivery paper that comes in our way. I can't wait for you to meet her in person! She's amazing!"

"Don't you worry, I can tell it myself 'cause I already have. You're such a puppy when you get confused!" She chortles before explaining to me what she meant by that. "Alice was on the "Boom Plan", she knew I was coming and she was the one who welcomed me at your dorm. I came home 3 days ago for Lindsay's birthday, as you know she's the only one of my siblings that I can actually stand."

She puts her arm around my shoulder and we keep walking as she describes me how she got everyone on board, including my parents, for the "Boom Plan", which she named like that because she wanted to make a spectacular "boom" in entrance with her arrival. I've missed her craziness. She is staying 3 days, Friday to Sunday, till she returns to her one true love, as she calls Europe. She's already been to Portugal and Spain but not yet to Barcelona where she's planning to fly right away from here. She's having the time of her life and I couldn't been happier for her.

"So what are this weekend's activities? Do tell!" she asks always ready for a new adventure.

"Well, if I knew you were coming I would have organized something special!" I complain.

"Nessa and organizing? From when do those two things go together?" she teases. "What were you planning to do?"

"I don't know, studying I guess because I'm way behind my schedule on International history I..."

"Not again with that class, Nessa. It isn't even mandatory as you've told me. Ah! Look!" she points a poster on the wall. "ΚΕΓ house, party and Halloween, this will be fun! We are so going!"

"Of course we are." I roll my eyes.

"Aha!" Emma moves her eyebrows up and down playfully. "I'll be a witch. Or a police officer. Or a serial killer. Aah, so many choices, so little time! From where are we going to get our costumes?"

"I'm sure Alice can find a solution at this big problem. She's an expert at this kind of things. I'll text her to meet us after her class. Now, may I buy you lunch, Miss?"

"Aaw, I thought you'd never ask!" she does a small bow as she holds her invisible princess gown. We both burst into laughter and go to the grill.

Alice's POV

I just finished my class and I wonder how I didn't die from boredom. I still don't know why I keep going. I think I will remove it from my schedule, so that means more sleep for me. Thank God this dull professor has uploaded all the lectures on the Internet, so I will study for the finals from there and I might take some notes from some classmates. This sounds like a good plan!

Suddenly I hear my cell's SMS sound. It's from Vanessa.

Hey roomie! You are indeed an FBI agent's daughter, how did you manage to keep from me that Emma IS VISITING US? OMG, I am so happy! We are at the grill, come and meet us after class, so we can go for Halloween costumes shopping! Xoxo

I see Vanessa discovered her Halloween present. She looks thrilled. I wish Ren was here as well, so we could go to the Halloween party together. It's our second favorite holiday, after Christmas. We are the best cosplayers after all. Thinking about that made me reach the parking lot without noticing. I get in my car and after some minutes, I am outside of the grill.

There they are. Vanessa is wearing a high waisted jean skirt, that falls loosely till the middle of her thighs and a white shirt along with her white converses. Her hair is curled up, I wonder how this girl has time to do that in the morning. Emma is wearing boyfriend jeans and a light blue shirt with shoulders out. Her hair is straight and let me tell you something, that girl is nailing that pink hair colour!

I honk at them so they can see I came. Vanessa startles a bit by the sound and Emma starts waving with both hands, running towards the car.

"Hello, secret agent Reynolds!" Emma says lifting her eyebrows up and down and steadies her hands on the open window.

"Alice!" Vanessa rests her chin on Emma's head. "Hi! Why didn't you tell me? This is the best surprise ever! How did you plan this? How didn't I have any idea about it? How-"

"Ah ah ah, nah nah nah! We are not telling you! Am I right, roommate?" Emma chimes in to end Vanessa's endless questions. "And I am sitting on the front. I am your guest after all, Nessa!" She pops in the passenger's seat.

"Alright, alright!" Vanessa giggles and steps in the backseat. "How was class, Alice?"

"Boring, boring and... surprise surprise... Boring!" I answer, as I start driving.

"Well, that was the reason why I postponed my college experience!" Emma says with sarcasm.

"I thought it was because you wanted to travel the world." Vanessa comments. "College is important, Em. You can't just ignore its existence. Eventually you have to-"

"Geez!" Emma rolls her eyes. "My mother hasn't given me this lecture not even once and Nessa is making up for it. This was the 127th time. Or could it be 128th?" Emma counts with her fingers. "I don't know, I've lost track."

They are amazing and so hilarious. I can't hold my laughter any longer.

"I love you guys!" I say chuckling. "Also Vanessa, I am dropping out this class, so I warn you not to wake me up on Fridays mornings!" I say in a commanding voice.

"You what? You are dropping out the class?" Her mouth falls down.

"Yeah!" Emma raises her fist in the air. "Nothing compares to a good Friday morning till noon sleep!"

"I so agree with you, Em! Don't worry Nessa, I will still sit down for the finals! I won't be going to the lectures anymore!" I inform Vanessa, whose jaw is still on the floor.

"Okay, I guess it won't be such a problem, since attending the class isn't mandatory." Vanessa remarks rubbing her chin.

"Nessa approved!" Emma gives me a thumbs up. "So where are we going to find the best Halloween costumes ever? Is it far away?"

"Actually it is nearby! Ren helped me find this place through the Internet, because my costume is hard to find. I checked it a bit online and it has many cool stuff!"

"Woohoo!" Emma yells bringing her hands to her mouth. "So you have already figured out what to wear! I envy you, Alice! I want something badass but that also makes a statement. And of course something cool! And I have no clue what that is!" Emma shrugs.

"I will help you with that! I used to go with Ren to many cosplays, so I have become like a master on this subject." I brag with a big smile. I feel so comfortable around Emma. She's such an easy-going person. "We're here!" I exclaim and I park with ease outside of the store.

"Wow, it is so big!" Vanessa remarks pointing at the store. "I have no ideas on the costume, so I am going to need help as well."

"Let's move before some bitch steals my dream costume!" Emma says and drags us both into the store. I like the way she's thinking.

The store is very spacious. It has a floor made of mahogany and everywhere you're looking at you see costumes hanging. In the depth there are changing rooms with a huge mirror and a couple of armchairs. Once we get in, a young man in his mid 20s is coming towards us with a huge smile pinned on his face. Well, his style can be described as unique and funny. Maybe it's Lady Gaga inspired. He's wearing lime coloured trousers with a black see through blouse and an animal print jacket.

"Hello girls!" he says in a happy voice. "What can I do for you?"

"That is a hell of a costume!" Emma says impressed. "Where can I find something like that?" She tic tacs her chin with her finger while Vanessa looks at her with eyes wide open.

"Follow me." He leads the way and Emma follows him.

"I hope she was joking." Vanessa gives me a serious look. "Let's start with the easy part, let's go find your costume! What are you going to wear?"

"I am going to dress up as Yuna from the Final Fantasy video games series. Me and Ren are obsessed with them." I answer and Vanessa gives me a confused look. "Ok got it! You've never played it before!"

"Um, no. Sorry!" She shrugs. "What's that?" she asks with curiosity.

"Yuna is a spirit summoner and her destiny is to defeat the Great Evil of her world. In her quest she meets and falls in love with Tidus, who finds out to be the son of this Great Evil. I am going to be Yuna from the sequel, because there are two parts and I like that outfit more. In the sequel, Yuna with her girls' squad is trying to find her man, who was lost in the end of the first part. That's the basic bullets of the story!" I explain to her the best way I can the story of Final Fantasy X and X2. Of course I left out many things, but I think she doesn't care about that.

"Oh, it's a love story!" Vanessa claps her hands excited. "That is so great! I am guessing you're wearing a pretty gown? In soft colours? Light pink combined with light blue!"

"It will be better to show it to you." I say and I lead her by the shoulders to the corridor with the video games characters costumes.

I start searching between the costumes and I finally find it.

"I will try it on to see if it's my size!" I inform Vanessa and we go to the changing rooms. After a while, I appear in front of her as a badass Yuna.

"Fancy seeing you here, miss half naked, half delicious, something." Robin appears holding something black in her arms, looking at me. "What are you?" she asks as she approaches Vanessa and hugs her, and then me.

"Yuna! A video game character!"I say plainly. I won't explain what Yuna is anymore. It's tiring. I like the outfit and that's why I have chosen it. It doesn't mind me if nobody figures it out.

"Cool, the only games I play are FIFA and Need for speed." she remarks.

I love need for speed! FIFA not so much, since I am not really into soccer. We used to play Pro with Ren, but I was sucked at it and I ended up tossing him the controller, because he was always mocking me after every game.

"Um, this is the costume?" Vanessa asks in doubt and I nod in confirmation. "You are going to be the centre of the night, roomie! This is incredibly sexy and suits you lots!" She then smiles at me. "I wouldn't wear it but I don't have your confidence. Or your body!" She adds raising her eyebrows.

"Did someone call for me? 'Cause I am the body!" Emma runs towards us wearing a way too shiny costume. Where the hell did she find it? "Oh dear lord, girl you are going to make a lot of people happy tomorrow!" She snaps her fingers.

"You can see, but you can't touch!" I brag and wink at Emma.

"Em, what are you wearing?" Vanessa facepalms.

"I have no idea." Emma looks down at her costume. "But there's no fun in finding the perfect costume right away!"

"Robin, this is my best friend Emma. She might seem weird, but she is good hearted." Vanessa says giggling. "Em, this is Robin, one of the coolest people in the entire campus!"

"Hello, Emma, nice to meet you. And yes I am as cool as a cucumber." Ro goes for a handshake. "I like your hair."

"And I like you for liking it! There are people staring at me like it isn't normal, can you believe it?" Emma jokes and shakes her hand back.

"Yeah, I know, people can be very narrow minded. Normal is boring." Ro winks at Emma.

"I like you even more!" Emma chuckles and points at Robin.

"Your hair makes you look like an anime character! You would totally fit in Tokyo!" I marvel at her.

"Don't compliment her like that. She is capable of flying over there tomorrow morning!" Vanessa exhales and Emma pats her on the head.

"Ro, what are you going to wear?" I ask curiously, when I observe she's holding a total black costume.

"Only the sexiest gal in Gotham City, Batgirl, I find it ironic, given my names is Robin, Batman's sidekick." Ro smirks. "Me, Sam and Nicky are going as superheroes. Sam as Storm and Nicky as Black Canary. They are here somewhere." she looks around the place.

"This is so cool! Superwomen squad! Thumbs up to that!" I effuse to Ro and her gals' costume choices.

"Oooooh!" Emma says and raises her hands up, staying like this for a few seconds. "Harley Quinn! That's like so me! It screams my name! Have you spotted this specific costume anywhere around, Robin?"

"Of course! It was right next to mine, and you can call me Ro. Here, I will show you." Ro nods and walks away with Emma following her.

"So Ness what about you?" I ask Vanessa, since she's the only one left to pick a costume.

"I don't know!" She pouts. "Let me take a look over here." She begins to pass the one costume after the other. "I have no idea."

"Ok, let's look around to find something for you! We need something not too sexy, but still pointing out your best spots. Mysterious maybe and hot at the same time!" I describe how Vanessa's costume should be like.

"But not too hot!" She tells me frowning.

"Don't worry! I've seen your clothes; I know that you like all the romantic stuff..." Suddenly I pause and it hits me. "ROMANTIC!" I exclaim! "That's what you are! Let's find a cupid's costume!" I clap my hands in enthusiasm and I start exploring the store, like another Christophorus Columbus, grabbing Vanessa's hand.

"Cupid, huh? Hmm, yeah I think if we find the right kind of costume, I could pull it off." She says nodding her head, as I am dragging her between the corridors.

Then I spot a label with Cupid's name written on it. Here we are. I start watching the cupid's costumes.

"No! Too slutty! Nop! Ew! That is so 80s!" I babble as I am passing by the costumes and then I see it. "This is the one!" I exclaim happily. "Wear it NOW!"

"Okay, okay!" She raises her hands in defense and then takes the costume. "Em, where are you?" She asks as she steps in the dressing room.

"Over here! I am helping Robin with her zip!" Emma shouts from another dressing room. "Damn it! This is a tough cookie! Give me a sec, Ro, I know I got this. Aah! Yeah! Here you go!" She opens the dressing room's curtain wide open. "What do you think, Alice?" She asks me taking a badass pose and Robin mimics her move.

"It's pretty awesome! You look badass, Harley Quinn!" I wink at her. "Ro, you look amazing as well. Batman has to get the hell out of Gotham City!" I smirk to Robin.

"Yeah yeah we rock! Thanks for the zipping Em." she steps away from the dressing room and snaps a picture of herself.

"All I am missing now is a bat!" Emma winks at herself in the mirror. "Nessa, did you get dressed?"

"Um, yeah." Vanessa says hesitating,from the dressing room. "I don't know. It isn't bad for sure but..."

"Just get out already." Emma rolls her eyes. I have to admit I really like her style.

Vanessa takes her head out of the curtain smiling with closed eyes and then lets the rest of the curtain fall down.

"I knew I am good, but not that good!" I praise myself. "Ness, you look very beautiful! It's made for you!" I marvel at her. She has such an innocent beauty.

"Gimme a high five, Alice!" Emma raises her hand up, which I accept giggling. "Nessa, this is beyond words!"

"Vee you look so adorably cute! Honestly this is so you! Well done, Alice!" Robin says and she high fives me too.

"I am the best!" I brag with a cocky smile. "Vanessa no buts! You will get this! End of story!" I command her, piercing her with my eyes.

"I won't argue! Thank you guys!" She smiles at us and makes a turn around.

After several minutes we changed back to our clothes,before saying goodbye to Robin, Sam and Nicky and I take the girls to return back to the dorms. Halloween is tomorrow evening and I can't wait to go there with my friends.
