Part 1
Alright folks! This is the official book for my first story in my random stories book. This will be slightly different from the single chapter that was posted on the other book. And like before, you choose what you look like. Just a reminder, this isn't a fanfic, this is something I randomly came up with so if you're not interested in that kind of stuff, then I'm sorry. But anyway, enjoy!
————————————————————————
(w/n)= wife name
(D/n)= daughter name
(d/n)= dog name
(This is your dog)
*Your POV*
I woke up from a dream to find my dog licking my face. I tried to go back to sleep for a few more minutes by shoving his face away, but (d/n) kept licking my face, which I assume is because he's hungry. Finally starting to annoy me, I let out an annoyed sigh, signaling I gave up.
You: (half asleep, mumbling) Fuck it! Alright alright! I'm up! *starts to get out of bed*
(d/n): (happily) *bark* *bark* *wiggles tail like crazy*
You: (still half asleep) *stops moving at the edge of the bed to look at (d/n), while (d/n) is still on bed* You're lucky you're my dog, otherwise I would send you to the pound.
(d/n): *bark*
You: *sigh while finally getting out of bed, stretching* (fully awake) Whatever, lets get you some food.
*No one POV*
As you began leaving the room, (d/n) barked once and started to follow. Once you made it to the kitchen, you started to make some coffee. While it was being made, you went to the cabinet under the sink to get the dog food. (d/n) began barking like crazy when he saw the food. Once you finished putting the food in his bowl, (d/n) started eating like he hasn't ate in years. You just stared at him and rolled your eyes while he ate. Once the food was placed back, the coffee was finally finished.
*Your POV*
I grabbed the mug and started to take quick sips from the coffee while leaning on the counter in the middle of the kitchen. As I did, I was staring at the photo on the wall that was taken about 2 years ago that had my wife when she was about 7 months pregnant, and me together with my right hand on her stomach, and her left hand on it too. With her hand overlapping mine. We were both smiling because we were going to be parents to a girl soon. But as I was remembering the 7 years we were together, the memory that I will never forget and try not to remember, started to fill my mind.
*Flashback 2 years ago*
We were in a hospital because (w/n) was giving birth to (D/n). While she was holding my hand because of the pain, I tried to calm her down by telling her she's doing great.
You: (trying to calm her down) You're doing great (w/n). Just a little more.
(w/n): *screaming in pain*
When all was finally done, our child was born... but she wasn't moving or breathing... she was quiet...
Nurse: ...I'm sorry... you're daughter didn't make it...
I couldn't say anything due to being speechless. Our daughter was dead the day she was born. I started to cry while trying to process the information we were just told. But (w/n) was silent as well... she too had passed away. My whole world was destroyed at that very moment. Both my wife and daughter, the 2 most important people in my life, didn't live to see tomorrow. I was balling my eyes out while holding (w/n)'s hand at this point.
*Flashback ends, now in the present*
I still haven't gotten over that day, and I know I won't forget it for a very long time. And I guess (d/n) has noticed it too. I felt his head rubbing against my waist, whimpering as he does. Wiping away the tears in my eyes, I rub his head and try to put on a fake smile while looking at him.
You: Thanks buddy. I'm better now.
(d/n): *bark* *wags his tail, indicating that he fell for it.*
I now felt a real smile on my face since (d/n) has always helped me when I'm sad. After a few minutes of petting (d/n), I started to focus on getting something to eat and try to keep my mind off of the past.
*Mini time skip*
After eating and getting into something for today, (your choice and it could be whatever you want) I sat on the couch in the living room, thinking of what is should do today. After probably a few minutes of thinking, I came to a decision to try to hunt some deer for a few days. I know it's been a few years since I did that. So I grabbed my rifle and other things that I might need for the hunt.
(This is your rifle)
As I was about to leave the house with (d/n), I stopped to look at my sword that was framed and was hanging on the wall like a trophy.
(This is your sword)
I stared at it for a few seconds, deciding whether or not I should bring it. I don't know why, but I can't remember anything from my past till I was about 20. Every time I try, it's always gives me a headache, like I'm telling myself I shouldn't remember. But the first memory that I do remember, I remember being in some forest and having my sword with me. And every time I have it with me, I somehow felt safe. Of course (w/n) would always question me about it, saying that we aren't in medieval times anymore. And every time that I did answer, I would give the same answer; I don't remember why and that it make me feel safe. She would usually just shrug at my answer and switch to a different topic.
But why do I have it? To this day I still don't know why. Could it have something to do with the forest that we live in? I don't know why, but every time I look out to the forest, if I look long enough and just focus, I feel like something is watching me. Not like an animal or a person watching me, like something... something else, like a creature of some sort. And sometimes I can almost hear things, like a whisper calling to me. But what's even more strange is that 1/5 of the time that I hear the whispers, it says "come home"... Maybe I'm hallucinating or going crazy.
*No one POV*
After a few minutes of deciding, you finally come up with an decision.
You: Eh screw it. Why not?
You grab the sword from the frame and put it on your back with the backpack full of supplies that you might need for the hunt. As you open the front door, you call your dog to you.
You: *whistle* (d/n)! Here boy!
(d/n): *bark* *walks over to you*
You rub his head for a few seconds before looking into the forest. Then you start to walk out of your house and made sure the door was locked. You hoped that you could find something to hunt and kill.
*Time skip*
After about 2 hours of wondering in the forest, you take a break by sitting on a rock to catch your breath. You take off the backpack, placed your gun to the side, and pulled out a bottle of water to drink. Once you're done drinking, you take a look around the area that you're in and take in the scenery.
As you do, (d/n) begins to drink from the running water from the creek. You chuckle a little seeing that you both were tired and need a break. You stared at him for a few seconds before you look around the area again. After a few minutes of catching your breath, you begin to notice something off about this place.
You: Wait, why haven't I seen this place before? I've been farther away from home in the past but never seen this area before... weird.
After questioning yourself about this place, you decide to go back to walking. You got off the rock and put on your backpack again. As you walk for a few minutes with (d/n), you start to feel nervous about this area. Your instincts are telling you that you should head home and never come back to this place. But you decide to ignore it and to keep walking.
*Time skip again*
After a couple of hours of walking, you finally spot a deer eating a few meters away.
You whisper: Fuck yeah! Finally!
As you aim your rifle at the deer, you shut out all sounds around you and focus to kill it. As you were about to pull the trigger, (d/n) hears something behind the both of you and starts to bark at it.
The deer gets startled and runs away before you have the chance to kill it.
*Your POV*
Damn it! I almost killed it! (d/n) started barking for some reason and now I lost my chance to kill that deer. Anyway I look at (d/n) and noticed he was looking behind us and was barking for some reason. I looked back and saw the reason why he was barking..... it was a bear.... A very big one at that, walking towards us while clearly looking at us.
I froze in place from seeing how huge it was like an idiot. I guess it was hungry because it was now starting to run toward us. And without a second to think, I began running away from it. As I ran from it, I called to my dog.
You: *whistle* (d/n)! Here boy!
(d/n): *bark, starts to run to you*
*No one POV*
As you and (d/n) were running, the bear was catching up to you very quickly. The bear roars a few times while catching up to you. Looking over your shoulder, you see that it's almost right behind you. Remembering that you have your sword, you drop your backpack and take out your sword from your back. Once you have a good grip on it, you quickly turn around and have a defensive stance with your sword, ready to fight it. Your dog noticed that you're about to fight it, and stopped running a few feet away from you. Once the bear was right in front of you, it starts to stand on two legs, towering over you. (It's about 15 feet tall when it stands)
It roars and starts to swings it's left paw at you, but you quickly roll away from it. It now swings it's right paw but you doge that too. As it was about to swing for the third time, it hesitates for some reason. Like it was scared. You took the chance to strike it and made a deep cut into its chest. It roars in pain but you take another swing at it and make another deep cut into the bear which led to another roar of pain from the bear. Now pissed off, it now goes on all four and roars at you. You two both circle each other, trying to find an opening to kill each other. The bear has had enough and rushes you. You swing your sword at its face and managed to make a cut go across it, managing to blind it's right eye. Roaring in pain once again, it stops attacking you and it goes on two legs again and tries to cover its eye with its right paw and swings its left arm wildly. Taking the chance again, you jump and strike its chest, going for the heart. The bear was close to hitting you with its left paw, but misses. Your sword penetrates through it, making the bear stop what its doing and start to slowly die while the sword is still in it. The bear looses all its strength to stand and starts to fall on you. You still stand however, even with the bear's weight on you, which you still haven't taken the sword out of yet. It cries in pain. Wanting the pain to stop, it slowly looks at you, having a face of wanting you to finish killing it. As if you knew what it wanted, you nod your head and talked to it.
You: Sorry it came down to this... I really am.
Once you finished speaking, it looked down to the ground, awaiting death. You pulled out the sword, killing the bear and ending its misery. It's now lifeless body slowly slipped off of you and made a loud thud when it hit the ground. You just stare at the body for a few minutes, and without realizing it, the sun sets and it becomes night.
