Chapter Six
(Katie's pov)
"Yes Father I've settled in quite nicely," I said rolling my eyes for what seemed like the millionth time.
"Your rolling your eyes aren't you?" Father asked.
"Yep." I said making sure to pop the p at the end.
"So have you met him yet?" Father asked, changing the subject.
"Yes I have, he's quite different than I expected."
"Is that so?" Father asked.
Standing from the chair I was sitting in, I walked across the living room, and over to the bay window.
Across the street I could see Nathaniel standing on his front porch. Waving to whoever was driving the car that was leaving his driveway.
"He looks different than I remember, but then again it's been quite a long time since I've seen him."
"That is true, just don't move in to quickly and mess this up."
"I know Father, I won't mess this up," I said, watching as Nathaniel locked his front door.
"Hmm. Looks like he's going for a walk tonight," I said as I watched him start walking down the road in the opposite direction of his house.
"Don't do anything stupid Katie," Father warned.
"I won't," I said before hanging up my phone, sliding it into the back pocket of my jeans.
I walked over to the coat rack, grabbing a ball cap and a hoodie.
I slipped on the hoodie before putting on the cap as I opened the front door, stepping out onto the porch.
Hopping down the steps, I made my way towards the road. I begun to walk in the same direction that Nathaniel had went.
Looking forward I could see that he was only a few feet ahead of me.
"Hey Nathaniel," I yelled out, causing him to turn around.
"Oh, hey Katie," he said as a small smile made it's way to his lips.
