I stood up from my seat and put my stuff in my backpack. I walked to my locker and looked through it.

' There isn't anything I really need to bring home. I have my textbook to study in my bag along with my binder for homework. I'm good. '

I shut my locker and walked to the entrance of the building. I saw Oliver standing there. Akane and Miro were with him.

' Oh great. Maybe they won't say anything. Maybe we will just talk like old times. '

" Hi, guys. "

" Hey, Y/n! " Oliver said with a bright smile.

Akane and Miro just waved at me and turned their attention back to Oliver.

" We were just heading home. Do you want to join us? " Oliver asked.

" Su-"

" No? Okay, then your loss. Let's go, Oliver. " Miro said.

Akane and Miro grabbed both of Oliver's arms and started pulling him away from me and the school. I could tell he wanted to stop and come back and apologize, but they were pulling hard on his arms. I sighed and waved at him to not worry about it. I saw them disappear behind the school walls. I started slowly making my way out of the school gates.

" Y/n! "

I stopped in my tracks and turned around. I saw Ryo making his way towards me. I gave him a small smile as he got closer. His smile stayed on his face the entire time. It never faded and it never dimmed.

" Hey, I'm glad I caught you. I was wondering if you wanted to walk home together? "

" Sure. My friends actually just ditched me. "

" Really? Why did they ditch you? "

" I don't think the girls in my group like me that much. "

" Why? "

" They're jealous. Miro and Akane are their names. They are jealous that Oliver is looking at me more than them. "

" Oh I see. I was in a group like that one time. Except it was over a girl. "

" Did you like the girl? "

" No, I didn't. They thought I did though so that caused a riff in our friendship. They didn't listen to me when I told them I didn't like her. I'm guessing that's what is happening to you? "

" Yeah. That's exactly what is happening to me. "

" Looks like we are one in the same. "

" What do you suggest I do? Akane and Miro have been my best friends for years and they are willing to throw it all away for a guy. Oliver is my friend, but I don't know what to do. "

" Well, what I did was I kind of stopped hanging out with them. If they weren't going to treat me like the friend we have been for years then i saw no reason to stay. I still talked to the girl, but barely. "

" I've thought about doing that, but I don't want to. "

" I understand. I felt like that too, but maybe it'll work out. I don't regret leaving my friends honestly. I made new friends and I have such a great relationship with them. So it worked out for me in the end. "

" Maybe it'll work out for me. "

" Maybe. We will see. "

I saw my house come into view. I slowed down a little bit.

" Well, this is my house. "

I stopped walking and turned towards Ryo. He stopped at the neghibors house. The house beside mine.

" No way. You're my neighbor? "

" Neighbor? You live in this house right here? " He asked pointing to my house.

" Yeah. I didn't know the people beside me had a son. "

" I didn't know anyone lived beside me. I thought this house was for sale or just bought and never used. "

" Well, it's just me so there isn't a lot of noise. "

" You need to have a sleepover and create some noise and have fun. "

" I don't think that's possible now. Miro and Akane are more worried about Oliver. "

" It's still possible. I'll come over. "

" What? "

" Yeah. Since we are neighbors I'll come over. "

" I don't know abou-"

" It's decided. I'll be over in a few minutes. I need to get out of this uniform. "

Then he disappeared into the house beside mine. I shook my head and walked inside mine. I locked the door and went upstairs to change. I changed into something comfortable. I walked downstairs and felt my phone vibrate. I grabbed it and looked to see Oliver texted me.

Oliver: Sorry about earlier.

You: It's fine. I kind of expected Akane and Miro to do that.

Oliver: Still, they shouldn't have done that.

You: It's what I expected out of them. Especially when they like a guy. It's understandable.

Oliver: Still it's no way to treat a friend.

You: Just gotta deal with it. There's nothing I can do. I know they like you, and I don't want to get in the way, but they are putting me in the way.

Oliver: I'm sorry.

You: It isn't your fault.

I heard my doorbell ring and I set my phone down. I walked to the door and opened it. I saw Ryo standing there in a white T-shirt with light blue jeans and black tennis shoes. The smile he had earlier still remained on his face.

" Ready for our sleepover! "

" I am. " I said laughing at his enthusiasm.

I welcomed him inside and I shut the door behind him. I locked it and he set his bag down beside my couch.

" What's the first thing you want to do? " I asked him

I regretted asking him because his kind smile turned into a mischevious smile.
